  1. What a beautiful bass! I'd be very sad to see that go indeed. 66 is my birth year. I had to scroll down to the pics very very slowly in the absolute hope that it wasn't Oly white. I could feel the dread of my BF FR800's going up for sale! GLWTS
  2. I think I used to own this, it's a really nice playing / sounding Tele indeed.
  3. Top comb's and far too cheap! Definitely on par with my favourite combo of all time, the Eden Metro. I believe yours has a space under the amp for a single unit rack effect though (unlike the Eden)? Is this 400w standalone at 4 Ohm and 650w at 2 Ohm? Think this one is the original release and not the anniversary edition? Is that right?
  4. Hi Mike, it's a 34 and about 9lb maybe +9lb but would have to check.
  5. They are a great bit of kit but I've got everything I need on an ME50b now. I'll probably regret it at some stage though!
  6. Boss Compressor /Limiter / Expander and a digital Chorus Ensemble. Pretty good condition considering their age. Rather retro now as these were around in the 80's. I'm not using them anymore and so they may as well have a new home. Do not come with power supply or rack tray as I've found use for them. Can be seen / heard working at Blackburn BB22SH . Collection preferred. Postage at buyers cost and risk. I should imagine it would cost around £12 depending on the service you want. Send your own courier if you would rather do that though. Will be well packaged either way. Cash / bank transfer. Sorry, can't do Paypal. May split - Compressor £45 Chorus £65
  7. Can't seem to remember a Squier neck that age with no dots? If you look at the heel end and zoom in, it looks like the neck has been shaved to fit the pocket. Plus there's not enough frets and when zoomed, where there should be a fret there are 2 faint circles? Screws from either side maybe? I definitely wouldn't part with any amount of cash on that one!
  8. Aye it's a disaster. If the body or neck didn't snap, it may make a decent paddle!
  9. I only ever used guitar effects until recently (got an ME50B about 12 months ago). Still have the ME50 but our guitarist has nabbed it! To be honest I'd use them both if I could get the blummin thing back off him!
  10. I think you might need to see some close up shots! The bridge is sort of errr, maybe a Soviet 60's reject? The neck looks, well, ummm, like you wouldn't want to touch it. Something really weird going on at fret 20? Doesn't look like the same neck when you look at the headstock? Pups hanging out. Tuners might be ok though!
  11. Nice comment about it though! https://en.shpock.com/i/W6O5Y1iyTBIASWsb/
  12. Was just thinking that! I think quite a few Rick's are 42.9 too...
  13. Imperial sizes seem to be a USA thing which, unfortunately takes time. Surely there must be a luthier on here who could custom make one for you? Good luck.
  14. Watched a documentary on Carol Kaye and it reckoned she had played on 10,000 recordings! No blummin wonder she can't remember what she's played on even it's remotely true!
  15. That's a good disciplined plan you have come up with. I tend to grab my bass, bass trainer and headphones when the Mrs puts drivel on the telly in the evening. That way I get about 8 hours in a week without it interfering with anything else I want to do. It's actually a better way for me to practice as it's a much better alternative to what I'd otherwise have to endure!
  16. Signed. This happened to a pub in Blackburn but it was the brewery who wanted to close it. After a petition it was saved as a place of community interest. Took a while but it was successful and so there's no reason why your petition can't help. Good luck.
  17. Send it back. Don't take any risks, These things don't happen really.
  18. Been playing for 40 years and if there's one thing I've learned playing in a band it's, don't get yourself in a position where you are being 'told' what to do by a guitarist or a singer. If you do, you may as well become a session player and earn some money! The real fulfilling part of it all is - you will be the only one that is! The realistic future for those that 'tell' others what to do is loneliness as everyone will eventually have enough and leave. Same as any relationship!
  19. A man's cab indeed! In my younger days I'd have had this in a shot. Silly money for a real piece of kit. GLWTS
  20. Around 1990 we played at a local club. Loads turned up. Our then drummer Kev decided to smoke a load of weed, take loads of amphetamine and then drink a shed of ale. Needless to say, he collapsed and fell off his kit half way through. When he finally recovered, he blamed it not on the cocktail he had consumed but on the order he had taken it in 😂 That narrowly pipped the gig where all of us (bar our now different drummer) got that drunk that we couldn't play at all. By the way, that sober drummer was Ged Lynch who is currently on tour with Peter Gabriel and Sting! I've learned a lot since!
