I've bought a cheap Squier, hung it on the wall for a while and changed it for an identical Fender before now, without her noticing! This is where having a waterslide Fender decal hanging around in plain sight becomes very important. It's the back up plan if she does notice. Make sure you get rid of it and the Squier on the day of the "switch" though. 😎

Its an experiment! I’ve done the storage thing in the past. I’ve had basses hidden in Belgium before now! Rebel streak kicking back in I think!

I should have married you! 😂

I've deliberately left 2 cabs in the hallway and there's not been a murmur from her. She must be a secret member of BC and has read this post! Anybody noticed a new member called "The Vampire"?
-
She's not tidy herself but can't help 'noticing' when other folk aren't. Perhaps it's part of a gradual change or she's been replaced by a Reptilian? 🦎

I've said that I'm only a lodger too! Maybe I should give her the going rate for a lodger and stop tipping up it all!

Fully investigated but obviously she is part of a greater conspiracy. I should have known really. Her mother is a very tidy person. 😂😞

I've tried everything apart from the hitman! 😀

Absolutely nothing to do with basses but its weird and wonderful. Looks like "he who cannot be named" had a part in it though. 😂

That's what I say! He wouldn't like that. Well, his wife wouldn't! Can't have 2 miserable bastards in the house 😂 It's all usually hidden. Been busy today so had to leave it in the hall temporarily... She hasn't moaned since the first quip! I'm amazed! I'll make sure it's all hidden again tomorrow for inspection! 💂♂️😂

We live in a deceivingly large terraced house. My stuff really consists of musically related gear. Guitars on walls and everything else hidden under beds and in dark corners. Apart from my iMac which I'm told is too big as well! There's really only us two in the house and we have fleeting visits from the two lads. 4 bedrooms, 2 receptions, conservatory. loft etc etc. Loads of room really. The lads still have their own rooms even though they are never really here. One's at Uni but nothing can be put in his room. The other is a phantom and mysteriously comes and goes and the same rules apply. The spare bedroom has to be kept as a spare too, "just in case". I've been moved around in circles for years! Gets a bit much though when the dogs have designated space and I don't! Even though we have room. I think she just wants the other band members to keep it at theirs and so causes problems when seen!. No way the rest are getting their hands on my FR800's though! Oh, I do have a Roland kit in the conservatory that is also causing controversy!

There is a band called The Pink Torpedo's. Sure I saw them in Preston...

Pipped me to it!

I can't let her carry all that! She'll be too busy ironing my Rock 'n' Roll outfit

Been trying that one for over 13 years. Still waiting for one to "crumble"

Gigging tomorrow so got the PA out of it's hiding place and put it in the hall ready. First thing the Mrs says is - "That's a lot of equipment". That's her way of complaining. She'll be on one dropping subtle hints soon until she can stand no more and then really start complaining. Happens every gig! In the hallway there is - 2x Barefaced FR800's and the stands (compact and lightweight stands), an Ashdown MiBass 1x10 combo and matching 1x10 extension speaker, 2 basses in gig bags, 2x bar lights (each are no bigger than a telecasters in gig bags, poles for the lights (as big as a pool cue in a case), 1x cabin sized suitcase with leads in. 1x laptop bag with mics etc in and a Behringer X18 in it's original box (which is smaller than a shoe box), 2x mic stands and 2 extension leads. All of this would fit in an old style phone box with room for a dwarf to live happily on top. All of it (apart from the basses and poles) will fit in the back part of my little Peugeot 207 estate with the back seats still up! In terms of PA, I've done everything I can think of to have less bulk and still have a decent band PA. Yet, she still thinks there's too much equipment. I honestly believe there is very little equipment for a gigging band and it doesn't get in the way at home. It's all tucked away and mostly out of sight. How on earth can I make a PA with lights for a 5 piece band, that has 4 vocals, 2 guitars, bass and drums all going through it any blinking smaller!!! I think I've done bloody well! Usually would use in ears too but unfortunately no can do tomorrow. In my younger days my bass gear alone took up more space. Anyone got any earth shattering ideas that doesn't involve a hitman?

Couldn't have put it better myself!

No problem. Just don't put it underneath the Barefaced!

What's the worst reception you've ever had doing a gig?

Two songs, jeered and threatened all the way through by inbreds with bad teeth and 6 fingers, then told to leave by a massive rugby player like landlord. Got paid though! -
When weight is good. Allegedly.

Looks like it's painted with a mixture of sand, glitter and glue! Sand is pretty heavy! -
Just remembered... try another power outlet in a different room. Mine hummed if it was plugged in, in a certain room at home.
-
A lot of Eden's (valve) have a hum but yours sounds a bit more than that. I've heard a lot of stories of the transformer moving around in transit. I can't find the video but there's one on youtube showing how to reposition one and make the hum much less noticeable. Had a Metro combo for a good number of years and eventually took it to a tech to sort the hum but he said it was normal. Send yours for a service. Great amps.

Why did the other bass player leave? Maybe they should use a backing track bass and then all squabble about how it should sound? i've done many a gig and very rarely had the 'perfect' sound onstage. Who are they? Floyd?
