  1. It's a "He who shall not be named" restoration.
  2. The seller may well have misinterpreted what "Title" means in the ad description! https://www.gumtree.com/p/guitar-instrument/brian/1295015683
  3. And the case for it is for sale as well! 2 photos of the case but only one on guitar! Better photo of the guitar actually! https://www.gumtree.com/p/guitar-cases/guitar-case-for-sale/1294807164
  4. Perfect! A snip too! What could possibly go wrong https://www.gumtree.com/p/guitar-instrument/second-hand-guitar-for-sale.-unused./1294806877
  5. Didn't get to the end of that. Pretentious cat cak. It should have been a scene skit in a Pink Panther movie.
  6. I got away with pis up! Profanity filter fail!
  7. Chinese copy of the real thing. Usually have fake serial numbers too but this one doesn't.
  8. Pis up. Will get some better ones in better light.
  9. Just got one of the above second hand. Bought it out of curiosity as I once had a Chibson 335 that was a beast of a guitar. I quite like this LP. Plays and feels well but could do with a tweak here and there. Sounds good but will take some getting used to as it just sounds and feels so different to the Fenders I'm used to. The E string sounds mellower than the others but may be the strings (the E looks a bit different than the rest). I'll change them and see what happens. The string spacing is great for me and and as a result it's really easy to play. The only real problem is that it's gold! I don't do gold The guitarist has a Gold Top too! The thought of two gold guitars on the same stage makes me cringe! I'm sure that if it was put next to a real Gibby there would be a vast difference but on it's own merit, it's a decent bass. It could be a keeper but the gold would have to go! Anybody else found a decent Chibson? Low light pics. Will get some more detailed ones up in better light.
  10. I might try a pair of those on pay day. It says they can be returned if they aren't suitable. Quick search on Google finds them at under £33 at Gearbest. Never heard of the site before though.
  11. Bought an ME50b from Mike. Everything went smoothly. It arrived well packaged by next day delivery service, exactly as described. Wouldn't hesitate to deal again. Have no fear. Thanks again Mike. Cheers Dunc
  12. Great necks on these. Great all round really. It could easily be a first choice for years to come. £245 for an excellent first choice bass? It's a no brainer really!
  13. Oh, come on. Just as my GAS had well and truly subsided.... my little dream combo comes along. Doesn't help being skint either! I wish you a reluctant good luck with the sale!
  14. I have one of these (still fretted). Same as the Thunder 3 if I'm not mistaken (apart from the logo). Marvellous piece of kit. Getting a bit too heavy for me now and I'm dithering about selling it. I love the thing though!
  15. All of the above are comments are appropriate but the early Eden gear is phenomenal. Used an Eden 2x10 Metro combo with a 4x10 for a good number of years. An absolute beast of a rig. Highly under-rated and can be bought cheaply in comparison to Boogie and Barefaced. With the Eden you don't even need to find your tone, it's already there with everything at 12 o'clock. Just alter the enhance knob. The Metro goes to 2ohm, so loads of scope for cabs. I'm sure mine went to 750w but I think some models were 650. More than you would ever need, they sound big! However, you will need a van just to move the bass gear. Barefaced eliminates that. Compact, light and beastie! Every brand you mentioned are great but it all depends on personal preference and circumstance. Good luck with the search!
  16. I quite fancy using the GK-3B and will be looking into a way of testing and hopefully keeping it. Until then the price is reduced to £100 for the GK and bass. Nice Affinity Squier Precision fitted with a Roland GK-3B pickup. Bass has a few chips on the body but over all a decent bass. Straight neck and sounds like a P bass. Crafted in China in 2004 (I think). The GK-3B control unit came attached to the bass and looks to be affixed with double sided tape rather than screwed onto the body (I'll have a closer look tomorrow). The pickup itself is screwed to the body though. I cannot test it as I don't have a 13 pin lead or a GT module to do so. You are welcome to come and test if you have the right equipment. They were sold to me as working though. I know the bass is fine but cannot guarantee the GK. I'll try and get some better photo's up tomorrow in the daylight. Will post at buyers risk and expense but you are welcome to arrange your own courier, collect from BB22SH or may be able to meet up.
  17. Just sold Stew an X18. Great man to deal with. Everything went as easy and as sweet as could be. Deal with confidence. Thanks again Stew. Cheers Dunc
  18. Thanks for the +1. I've been wondering how you were getting along with it. Glad you like it. Great cabs.
