1.
I knew what you meant Dunc!
They all know Ash but everybody also knows that this bass needs a bump!
2.
Looks like a pretty obvious maple neck to me! O.o
Should have said board! But I'm simple type of guy! I still want it but I can't!
3. Thank God this breaks my 9lb rule and it hasn't got a maple neck! Great basses, mine was as well made and sounded as good as my JV. Someone is going to get a bargain and be more than happy with their purchase! GLWTS.

5. Can't make my mind up if it has been another colour at some point. I can't see why where its chipped, it would be darker? I know Fender USA used to paint over other colours but I've never heard of MIJ doing the same? Some of the paintwork looks dull that maybe poorly polished cellulose? If it's cellulose over polyurethane, it could have reacted and that may also account for the lumpy bits around the neck plate.
6. I wouldn't change it. Had the HB, the Redsub and the Promethean. All very capable combos that put out a lot of air for their size. All of them sounded great to me. I'd consider if it was a GAS attack and if so, spend the money on a neo extension. You could always chop and change the configuration then. Head with extension etc...
7.
It's pretty much the complete combo, I reckon. I'll be sad to see it go, but it's just not getting used by me now. Any hurry up and sell that Selmer Twin before I buy something I really really don't need
I'm in a similar position. Money to spend but I don't need anything. I'm jangled with GAS!
8. I'm sort of sad it's gone! Kept on thinking about buying it. I loved mine... Someone is going to be happy though!
9. They are great for that. They also have a kick back feature that turns them into excellent monitors. We used to have 3xG1 and 4xG2. G2's have a mini mixer in them too. Got them off eBay. They do a sub too but you can't mount the tops on it? Stupid really! I'm sure lots of other folk will reply with lots of other options too.
10. I'd go secondhand active cabs. The JBL G1's and G2's 15" can go for as little as £100 now. G1 are 175w but go really loud. G2 400w and loud loud again. I saw a band recently with a pair of G1's in a large pub. The vocals were deafening. They had a bit of kick going through too. All depends what is going through them as well though. There's quite a few threads on here about good value budget PA cabs too...
11. I know exactly what it is. That's what I sound like when I come home steaming drunk and attempt to pick a bass up. Well, apart from he is a bit faster... Or of course it could be a guitarist playing bass!
12. I bought this recently on a bit of a whim as it was Selmer (what's not to like!) and it's my Y.O.B and now I'm getting an itch for a larger valve head. Stupid really for someone who has sought for the tiniest usable bass setup for years! It's the micro head of the time though. It's very small for a valve head 30.5x18.5x8.5 cm approx . 30w of power into an 8ohm load. Point to point wiring. Not heavy, I've not weighed it but it feels less than the TB500 I used to own. Think they are 12lb. Many differing opinions on giggability, here and on the net. Boils down to the type of band and cone area in my opinion. Two channels. Very clean warm sound with my JV P 57. I've had it serviced by Dave Pye of Lancaster (formerly from Fulwood, Preston). He changed a couple of bits and bobs that were causing a weird sound on higher volumes and cleaned the crackly volume pot (which still isn't 100% but assures me it will be fine with more use). It's not bad though. May trade for higher wattage valve head or Barefaced cab, Midget or Compact preferably. Reasonable amount of cash your way. Also, have a few other things up for sale/trade to throw in the mix. Would be about £15 to post or collection and demo from Blackburn, Lancs (preferred as I'm not too sure about shipping valve gear). Please note that I do not have an 8ohm cab here. You would have to bring your own or use my 4ohm, which I've been assured is OK to do so. Will get more pics up if needs be.
13. Bump. Nearly put it up for sale but item I was interested in has gone.
14. I absolutely love these combos. The best combo ever made in my opinion. I've gone for lighter weight or I'd be knocking on tour door! Set everything flat and play with the magic enhance knob and it's all you will ever need. Every bass player needs to try these at least once. GLWTS.
15.
If you're up for a direct sale and can ship it, i'm interested!
Thanks Stuart but I'm holding out for a neck trade preferably or another bass at this moment...
16. Lets try and keep situations like this to the "Top" of the page lads. The more bumps the better. The poor guy must be gutted. Disgraceful behaviour from an idiot minority
17. The only Jazz neck I can liken it to was on a USA Highway One. It's the volute ( think that's what it's called! Learned that from a BC'er yesterday!) that's the problem for me. My JV doesn't have one nor my Westone Thunder 2 so to speak and so I'm not used to that particular profile. The neck on this one is just a run of the mill standard neck from my experience. Marc S, I'll PM you.
18. Sold Simon some IEM's. No messing about and a nice chap to deal with. Thanks again Simon. Cheers Dunc
19. Bought a bass trainer from Adrian. It arrived quickly, safely and as described. Adrian is a real gent to deal with. What more could you ask for? Thanks again Adrian. Cheers Dunc
20.
Hi - is this a regular jazz neck and is it original? - any dents or pings? - where are you based? Cheers
I'm in Blackburn Lancs. Standard Jazz neck with no dings or pings when I last saw it on Saturday!
21.
Explain PLEK'D for those who don't know what it is.... (ok me then )
Voodoo. It's Voodoo!
22.
Could you sell only the body and parts of the body?
Sorry but ideally, I'd like to keep the body and parts and trade the neck.
23. Added trades - BF Compact or Midget. Maybe similar but must me lightweight. I bought this recently from this very forum and it really is a great playing and sounding bass. 2015 and in great shape. I'm sure it's less than 9lb as it only feels slightly heavier than my P Bass that weighs 8.3lb. I can't weigh it at the moment as it's in the rehearsal room. Problem with it (for me) is the neck. Absolutely nothing wrong with it but I prefer skinny Jazz necks, more like the Classic Vibe with no volute.. I've been spoiled by my JV P that's really shallow, especially at the nut and anything fatter than that now just feels uncomfortable. The neck is not a baseball bat by any stretch of the imagination though, just not shallow enough for me. A neck trade would be ideal, maybe someone out there wants a more standard neck? Otherwise, would consider trades for another Fender/Squier Jazz or a P/J combination as long as the neck is shallow and it weighs less than 9lb! Maybe even a CV with cash adjustment? Would much prefer to trade at the moment (cash either way), unless something crops up for sale. I've used the original sellers pics (hope you don't mind Vmaxblues?) as I've no access to it at the moment. It's in the same condition though.
