Great little pedal. Only used a couple of times. Bought for yet another project that didn't happen. A couple of tiny chips to the paint, which I've tried to show in the photo's. They must have been there from new as it's hardly been out the box. I've misplaced the destructions but the review below explains how it works. They are also available online. I use an Ashdown Mibass 2.0 1x10 combo. It pushes 400w. We always have PA support and so it's only needed as a monitor. We played on Saturday at a venue that turned out to only have PA tops and no facilities for bass, drums or guitars! We had no choice but to get on with it. The place was packed with around 250 folk. I was more than worried that the bass would be lost. The little bass combo greatly surprised me and did it's job admirably. No problems on stage and absolutely none out front. It was on about half volume. Personally, for me, I don't think there's any need for a huge setup anymore and will stick with the 1x10. Well, until I get Barefaced GAS again!

Sold an iMac to Mike. Easy transaction. Fat payment and good communication. Deal with confidence. Thanks Mike...

I see a post for a number of very cheaply priced basses for sale on here. I wonder if anyone who doesn't believe in making a "profit" has looked to buy one of these? Surely, equity is profit? Personally, I've bought and sold on here. I may have made a grand sum of £25 profit once! 99% of the time I've made a loss. Sometimes huge losses. I never intentionally buy to sell on but circumstances change, especially when you are the only band member willing to buy any equipment needed. I may have sold something for a small profit that I've bought on here but have always added extras such as gigbags (which belonged to me), to the sale, that way at least I can recover some of the postage charges that I've paid. Packaging and time must be worth something too? Another point is, how many folk selling something on here actually get what they are asking? It either has to be cheap or they accept offers by PM. PM's are private and so the rest of BC do not know what the item actually sold for or what the deal actually entailed. This brings me back to the original point of the "very cheaply priced" basses on here. I saw them and did not buy one as in doing so, I would have felt like I was gaining something by somebody else's misfortune. That doesn't change the fact that, the basses belong to somebody else and whatever he wants for them is his business not mine.

Once had a couple of lads buying me pints for no reason in the local pub (a long while ago). Finally one came up and said "Are you Bono"!!! "Ay up am a bloody heck" I replied. Didn't get another pint off them, -
I know you want to go Barefaced but I've now got RCF 745's you can have demo of. Easily put the full band through them and superb for vocals.
Thanks for the offer Si! That's really kind of you. It's a minefield out there but after days of searching, I've definitely decided to buy the Barefaced. Hopefully, pay for them Friday and then "The Wait" begins! I'll keep you posted!

New band quandary - advice sought, please...

I'd do the recording. Surely, the songs you are going to record will be well rehearsed by then? Concentrate on getting them right. You can always re-record the bass if you feel you need to. If you still feel unsure, you could always play a shorter set at the gig? Besides, 25 songs is quite a big repertoire anyway. Never mind 30! -

Great Gig, Great Crowd, Great Business $$, But We Don't Want You Back
itsmedunc replied to blue's topic in General Discussion
We played a Saturday every month at a venue, for 4 years. Sold a sh*t load of booze and filled the place up (you have to pay to get in). The crowd loved us and danced the night away. The owner, loved the money we made for him (even though he was a Jazzer and probably wasn't really into our music) and kept on booking us, as we pulled a crowd. Unfortunately he passed away and his daughter took over the bar. Since then we haven't been booked for any gigs and she ignores our emails. Now she books muso Jazz bands, which are not going to appeal to an under 30s crowd, on a Saturday night. Good luck to her, I hope she doesn't go out of business..
We played at a home town pub, it used to be very busy but the landlords daughter took it over and made it into a dance sort of rave pub? Weird as ravers were renowned for not drinking! Anyway, St George's Day we played and it was unbelievably busy from 11am. So much so that, although we were on free beer all day, we went to the local Wetherspoons to get served! We played and then they shut the gig down, turned it into a rave thing again. Everybody left and about 14 kid 'ravers' turned up and we're incredibly obnoxious to the folk that were left. We decided not to play there again... -
Can you have a row with Mrs Itsmedunc, leave the Thunder2 nearby so that she can break it (please specify near the TOP of the headstock) and sell me the remains CHEAP??
Mrs itsmedunc is on the wine. I can't start an argument as it will be my neck that's broken! -

I don't know if it's just me but every Rik I've ever played, felt like an old plank with an Ikea kitchen door nailed to it? I really don't see the attraction! -

itsmedunc replied to TheGreek's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
I'd like to find a cheap one with a broken headstock which could be converted to headless...let me know if anybody breaks one...
I've got the Thunder 2 V2 now. It's virtually a T3. The only difference I can see is, the 2 has a different headstock decal. This one has soap bars and mine has P/J's but that was just part of the differing version on all models. They are truly great basses. Never Mind The Headstocks! -

Thunder 3. One of the best! Love em! -
Andy bought a Freeman bass from me. Absolutely no problems. He's a really nice guy and I wouldn't hesitate to deal with him again. Thanks Andy!
