1. Westone Thunder 3. Had a few since but they weren't the same. Have a Thunder 2 MK2 now, which is exactly the same as a 3. Although, it's a great bass it still wanes in comparison.
  2. Surprising what you can make with a pirates leg!
  3. They look from the time to me. Even the paintwork in the neck pockets are very similar.
  4.
I don't know but will find out for you, You can have a go Dunc when you try the PA
Sounds good...
  5.
I am away on tour but will be in Blackpool in just over two weeks, if still for sale I am interested
Great little cab for touring, especially with PA support...
  6. Just checked my serial and it comes up with the same 84/87 result. It's the Dater website that's at fault. 21 Frets is the site for JV's really,
  7.
Haven't come across guitardater before, but that 84-87 result is quite incorrect when applied to JV Squiers. JV5xxxx indicates May-June 1983 on 21frets.com and that list is very good. I think the OP's bass looks dead right for mid-'83 (save possibly the pencilled 58, but you never know) re. tuners, bridge saddles, raised A pole pieces, and a bunch of other stuff.
I'm not sure that guitar dater is 100% accurate. I've had a couple of results from there that I thought were a bit iffy , My JV 57 has no date on the heel. Perhaps a bit of artistic licence at the factory? The bass looks good to me. I'd buy it if I had the cash...
  8.
No, the neck plate hasn't been changed as far as I'm concerned. Totally original. That's a fantastic bit of detection work. Why should the decal be correct and where did you get this info from? Always understood the JVs were between 82 & 84.
That would be the Guitar Dater Project http://www.guitardaterproject.org/fender
  9.
I'm confused... is this cab for sale, on hold, or withdrawn??
I was going to give the buyer a last chance. I'll withdraw it instead.
  10.
Still on hold or will you send to Denmark? Thanks Dennis
It's supposed to be on hold but I think I'm going to keep it anyway even if the buyer eventually decides to pay. . It's a great cab.

    Hello!

Ah! The North! Sometimes it seems there's not many of us! Bass and backing. Sometimes, I can do it really well and other times the brain goes! Beer helps for me! Or, maybe I just think that...
  12. La bella and Thomastik do nice low tension flats. Always found flats far too taut until these appeared.
  13. Hi Rich, not sure of the materials. It it will be on the barefaced site. It hasn't cracked all the way through to the other side. It's a bit of an odd injury really. There's no damage to the underside, just what you see? I can't give an account as it was like that when I bought it? Odd indeed... Cheers Dunc
  14. I really hope that you or any buyer could sort this problem out. I've had quite a few precisions, vintage etc but my JV has been the only keeper. I honestly believe it's worth far more than a grand on a bad day. Whether people would pay that is a different matter. Beautifully crafted and sounding, If I had a vintage USA again it would be a back up. I really don't think there is any Precision anywhere near as good for the price they go for. GLWTS.
  15. I really don't know what to say about it! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/mobile-pa-system-/222109605274?hash=item33b6c39d9a:g:-88AAOSwLs5XLJi0
  16.
The funny was Tha he told " I waste my time with you" Then I told him " I wasted my time with you" and told me "f#@#off, my guitar is perfect"
I think you got your answer there! Sounds like a scam to me. Only ever pay by the way you are happy with. Nobody legitimate would expect you to give them a lot of money without asking questions!
  17.
In Facebook there is someone who named "James Nunes" and post in bass player market UK an antiqua precision 1976!!!! He accept my offer for 900€ shipped in Greece with original hardcase and all original on the bass Also he tried to convince me to pay via western union See the photos he sent me and make your conclusion 76 stamps on pickups on black pickguard in a antiqua bass And jazz bass neck pocket 76..... I believe its a scammer , If not I ll have to delete.my post
I would not pay for anything via Western Union. Many scammers use it. I would say no no no. The pictures could be from any website...
  18. It has a Knob far too big for it's body. Which is the exact opposite of mine.
