1. Just incase anyone is wondering, the bass is stripped at the moment. This means the hardware has been removed, not the paint! All the hardware is included in the sale. When put back together, its fully functional. The last 4 photos show it as it is at the moment. I can reassemble or ship as is. The bass plays and sounds really well. 22 frets. Not sure of the weight but its not too heavy for my glass back. Slim through neck. Reason for sale is, I hate the colour. Its a sort of pearly gold thing. Its a perfectly usable bass but I was going to refinish it. I got as far as stripping it down (only the hardware, not the paint) etching around the logo and serial (so I didn't lose them under the refinish) and then the job stopped. I'll never get round to finishing it off so it's up for sale. There is a bit of a gouge on the body that looks as if its been caught with a sander and there's some lacquer coming away on the neck around F. I dont think the fretboard is coming away, it does look cosmetic to me. One of the brass saddles is a (brass) Wilkinson replacement. Its stripped at the moment but can easily re-assemble should you wish or shipped ready for sanding. Ive also got the Westone logo on file that I can send to you for the refinish. Price is plus postage. I would prefer if you could arrange a courier as the courier I use will not insure unless the bass is in a hard case. My messages have gone a bit odd lately. If I've messaged you about the bass please message me back if you are interested.
2. Lots of love. No money! Nothing to trade either. Only got 4 basses now, a jv p, a starfire, an old musicmaster and a Westy Thunder 2. Dont think I'd like to part with the first three and the Westy would need a money top up that I don't have! I need a cunning plan!
3. And there's a miners crack where the battery compartment used to be?
4. It's all wrong. Wrong, wrong, wrong...
5. How the bloody hell are these still here? It's a grands worth! I really wish I had something to trade for them...
6. Ended due to an error in the listing? Should it read £35 or is the whole description wrong!
7. Don't think I'd buy the half that is there either! Even at half the price!
8. Great cabs these. Had a pair until recently. Only moved them on as they were a bit big for my needs. Used them with an LM3. Great sound. Very light and very loud. Rare to find a pair for sale too. Whoever gets this bargain won't be disappointed. Good luck...
9. The pit and the pendulum springs to mind...
10.
It looks like a genuine JV a look at the wiring - should be cloth with a green cap - and the neck heel stamps would be the way to know. The neck plate missing is a shame - I doubt it's an SQ as they had non-reverse tuners, white scratch plates on sunburst generally and a skunk stripe on the back of the neck. Nice bass but the price reflects its lack of a serial number and I'd certainly make an offer that reflects this.
I'd definitely make an offer if I wasn't so strapped for cash. Hope somebody on here gets it... Might get a chance of it at a later date then!
11. Very cheap if indeed it's right. No stamped plate. Can't quite see that it has a raised A pole like my 57 so, presume it's a 62. 62 JV maple necks (I think) don't have a walnut plug either but the 57 does, which indeed mine does. So, I'd go for 62 if it's JV. Don't think it's an SQ as I believe they had a walnut plug and a skunk stripe. Any thoughts? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Squier-JV-by-Fender-Precision-Bass-Made-in-Japan-1983-/221828822536?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item33a6073608
12.
That looks awful... bet its one of those basses that plays and sounds amazing though.
I was thinking it was one of those "Awesome" basses too...
13. These are great basses. I've got the red version. Really versatile too. If I had the cash, this would be long gone...
14.
I had one of these, great sound and easy to use, only sold it because I'd ended up with 3 amp heads at the time!
Thanks for the +1. They are great little amps and very user friendly.
15. Thanks for the input Jono. I'd forgotten all about this being up for sale! Time for a bump...
16. For straight trade or may add cash for right head. Great little compact lightweight head in good condition. Nice tube emulation. Specs here - http://www.tcelectronic.com/classic450/ The only reason I'm thinking of trading is, I'm now only using a single Barefaced Midget at 8ohm but need a bit more volume and don't really want to add another cab to get the full power out of the TC. So, I need something that can put out around 500w @ 8ohm. Something tubey would be nice but open to suggestion. Head must be small and lightweight. Orange, Genz maybe? Will get pics up ASAP.
17. Sounds like a good cab for the money- http://www.gumtree.com/p/guitar-bass-amplifiers/schroeder-1212l-700w-8ohm-bass-cab-2-x-12-/1116002090 It's not mine but not too far away from me. I might be able to pick it up.
18.
The first picture of the one in Poole - the front of the body is identical to the third one (the front of the body) of the one in Berkhamstead. Same for the photo of the back of the bass and the one of it lying on the case with a roll of bubble-wrap visible in the top left corner. Just wondering how it can be in two places at once. The charity hospice auction has more photos but the guy in Poole says he's owned it from new... Then I wonder whether it's just my browser... or computer... or me...
Quantum mechanics says it's possible that particles can be two places at the same time. Perhaps in a few years we will discover that basses can too!
19. It's on £11.50 and the reserve isn't met?
