Sent an amp from Blackburn Lancashire to the Isle of Wight yesterday. The courier (DCS) was a bit late and picked it up just before 5pm. It arrived in the Isle of White this morning and was signed for by 11.39am! Surely thats got to be some sort of record!
I just love that explosion of chisel stabs on the back ... entirely natural, utterly convincing. Incidentally, if you want to know what one of these really looks like after nearly 60 years, here's my '57: http://s1128.photobu...01957%20CURRENT
If you run yours over with a combine harvester and then bury it in gravel for two and a half thousand years, it would still look better than that monstrosity! You have a very nice bass by the way... -
Ask the guy for pics without the tape and get a nice close up of the headstock
What the hell have they done to the headstock! Zoom in on the image. It looks like they've painted over a pilchard! What a mess!
He says "i am not a dealer this is my new baby but my missis is making me sell it to take her on holiday , women eh you gotta love em" Once she saw it, I'm not surprised! Truly a right mess. The scratchplate looks like it was fashioned from an old tyre. Too much information for me as well. He needs to learn how to use paragraphs! -
Had a look at selling for the first time in ages. They've changed the BIN system now. I'll give it a try...
Yeh not keen on having to rush to get things right. Especially as we are in charge of our own sound
It's hard work doing your own sound. We did that for a while. it started to ruin the rest of the night for us. Everybody was stressed before we started! It would have helped if there was anybody else in the band (apart from one of the guitarists and I) that knew how to set the rig up etc. I always ended up with the desk next to me We never play without a rig now and mostly use the same company. If we get the timing right the PA is in and he is playing music before we arrive. We get the drummer to arrive 30mins before the rest of us so he is set up when we arrive. Then it usually goes like this - I'll get set up in 5 minutes and get the singer to go to the bar whilst the 2 guitarists talk cack for ages... and ages... and ages...

Great guitar as good, if not better than many Fenders. Far superior to the Mex I used to own. Good condition. Plays very nicely. A couple of dings, the worst of which I have tried to show in the pics. Some tarnishing to control plate and bridge but may polish out. It's never bothered me as it gives the guitar a bit of character. Lovely neck, vintage tint and the grain is sort of tiger striped. Trade for decent spec laptop or Macbook. I've no hard case so it cannot be posted with insurance. I will wrap it and box it well but will not be held responsible for any damage incurred in transit. Please bear this in mind. Shipping cost would be £13.90. Alternatively, you can arrange your own courier, collect from Blackburn Lancs, BB22SH or may be able to meet up.
