Playing covers - how accurate do you need to be?
ordep replied to Nicko's topic in General Discussion
We use to play Aeroplane and I just learned the memorable parts; intro, a few important minor fills and most of the solo part. Flea never played it the same way live anyway. -
NP mate, get one and go destroy ‘em PA’s 😄
-
is it the one you are selling for a friend? the one on gumtree for £(unbelievably overpriced so nobody will bite)?
-
update on the “big” board, added the becosfx mini comp. But currently most of the jams and practices are handled by the small bass/guitar hx stomp setup. Looking for a PT Nano so I can set the morningstar horizontally.
-
....or just get a nano + then sell the nano to me for a very cheap price. 😄
-
@Crawford13 how are you powering the morningstar?

“EXP 1/2, FS 4/5 Connect an expression pedal here to adjust a wide variety of parameters. With a Y-cable (tip-ring-sleeve 1/4" jack, split to two tip-sleeve 1/4" jacks), two expression pedals can be connected. Alternatively, one (or with a Y-cable, two) external footswitches can be added to access additional stomps, presets, snapshots, etc. (FS4=tip, FS5=ring). To set this jack's function(s), see page 41. By default, this jack is set to accommodate a Mission SP1-L6H Line 6 Expression Pedal, which has a toe switch that toggles between EXP 1 (Wah/ Pitch Wham) and EXP 2 (Volume/Pan). For external footswitches, the momentary (unlatched) type should be used.” 2 footswitches or 2 expression pedals can be connected at the same time, so I assumed that I can use one of each.

any mini expression pedal recommendations? I’m planning to split the TRS exp out of the stomp, one will be for a tap tempo/tuner switch and the other is for expression. Should the expression be specifically TS?

This just came in. Unfortunately cannot try till next week. Will report back when I get to play with it.

FRFR (alto, etc) plus modelers? (Zoom, Line6, etc)

I'm with Dave_bass5, the B1on is just so portable. I mostly practice with one and I always bring it to gigs, just in case i need to review something between sets.

Just got this on a trade, and as lovely as it sounds, I have to admit that I have no use for it atm, so passing this on. A lovely FET/Germanium boost that adds a bit of hair/grit while retaining the characteristics of your tone. Selling for £110 posted within UK or can be collected at WD6. Sale only this time.

Got this recently on a trade but I got an emergency bill so I am selling this guitar from Parker. Serial indicates that it is from 1997. Well used, so not in a pristine condition, but the stainless frets still have a lot of life in them. Very light and plays very well. All stock except for the Seymour Duncan bridge pickup (original Dimarzio bridge pup included). Will come with a Parker gigbag. I can include 2 extra unused pickguards, 1 SSS and 1 HH. Looking for £650 collected from WD6.

Just a feeler, Will gladly keep if there are no interesting offers. 2014 BN5 with roasted maple board. Brown burst. Very good condition with a couple of slight dings on the body and headstock. Will come with its own Fbass gigbag. I love how it sounds in the band mix and IMO, fbasses have one of the best tones out there. Only reason I am trading it is I think I prefer a smaller bridge spacing. Although as mentioned, I will gladly keep it if I cannot find a suitable and equally good replacement. Will consider Zon, Ken Smith HF, etc. For trade only ATM. 32-34inch scale 5 string or probably a 6 string with a comfortable neck. Only 4 string I will consider is an Alleva Coppolo or my old medium scale purple ceruse BN4 (I miss that gal) Would prefer local trades so We can try first before deciding. I’m in Elstree WD6.

If you are ok with just PC messages (no tuner access just preset change) this is what I am using. For £54 its a bargain. https://www.scan.co.uk/products/one-control-gecko-mkii-midi-switcher-20-presets-ideal-for-live-use I only tune once every set anyway so I am ok with bending down to press the page button for tuning.
