1. My loving wife has said that I don't need to sell this anymore!
2. You did right to raise it up to £150. A new bass should be pristine. If they don't go for the £150 I would insist on a new bass. I hope you get a decent outcome.
3. Just drove a 4 and half hour round-trip to pick up my new bass. I've give it a once-over and played it for about half an hour. It plays superb and sounds just like a jazz bass should. There are a couple of minor dings but it is a used instrument and I got it for a bargain. It's a 2013 Fender American Standard Jazz.
4. Well, after all my worrying she was fine with it. I already put a bass up for sale this morning and told her it was a deal not to be missed. Although I suspect I will pay for it somehow. Now I can look forward to picking it up tomorrow.
5. So, wife is at work and I'm left alone with eBay. All of a sudden a very nice American Standard Jazz bass pops up at a nice price. I just had to click 'buy it now'. Wife is due home any minute, she is gonna kill me! Any advice from anybody who has been in this situation? I will update this as a NBD thread tomorrow when I go and pick it up - that is if I'm still breathing!
6. Here is my Musicman Bongo 4HH in Sapphire Black. It has rosewood fretboard, neodymium pickups, 24 frets. Controls are volume, blend, treble, stacked hi mid and lo mid and a bass control. Comes with Ernie Ball strap locks and a hard case. Only selling because I already have another Bongo and a Sterling and I am missing a jazz bass from my arsenal. A couple of tiny dings on the headstock (very tiny and only noticeable if you look really close, can't get them to show up in photographs). One small circular crack in the lacquer near the forearm contour which I have photographed. It hasn't bothered me because I only noticed it yesterday. I'm located in Lancashire but would be happy to meet halfway within a reasonable distance. For sale only as I have just bought a Fender American standard Jazz.
7. I'm a big fan of Musicman basses. I currently own 3, a Bongo H 3 band eq, a Bongo HH 4 band eq and a Sterling. Each has their own flavour of the Musicman sound. Enjoy it!
8. Usually the Mrs telling me I can't buy another bass.
9. I used to have Stingray gas. That was until I bought a Sterling. Slimmer neck, 3 way switch for series/parallel/single coil and a smaller body shape. More aggressive sounding ceramic pickup. I'm happy with it.
10. I have got an American 62 RI P bass. The neck is wider compared to the MIM standard that I used to own. I bought an aftermarket Mighty Mite neck, which is the same width as the American standards and much more manageable for me. Sound wise it just sounds great. It is definitely a keeper. I like the nitro finish to. It is wearing away around the forearm contour but I think natural wear looks good. Good luck with your dilemma!
11.
I have a burgundy mist stack knob sounds fantastic. Bit dark, I might have been tempted with a fiesta red or LPB if I could choose again
That shade looks great!
12. Burgundy mist. I prefer the darker shade though.

14. I bought a Mighty Mite neck for my 62 RI precision from bluebass320 on eBay about 4 years ago. It has been superb. It hasn't even needed a single truss rod adjustment since I had it fitted. It didn't need fret dressing or anything. My luthier just bolted it to the body, sorted the nut out, attached the tuners and set the action. He has a jazz neck for sale at the moment with rosewood fretboard. The decal is already on the headstock too. I'm not affiliated with bluebass320 in anyway, just a previous happy customer.
15. That is a cool looking bass it looks like a beast! I think the colour is great too. I've always wanted a purple bass. I'm not overly keen on the reverse headstock though. Congrats!
16. I used to have a 2009/10 p bass. Black n maple. The bass was great and quite light as far as mim basses go. There was nothing wrong with it but I also have a 62 RI which is a keeper. I hope you like it.
17. Crazy price and a classy looking bass!
18. Dan Lakin, it just looks half finished to me.
19. I'm currently GASIng for one of those beauties. I don't normally like basses without paint on them but these are nice. I haven't played one yet but I researched the Nordstrand Big Singles. The general concensus was that they are quite a neutral full range pickup. A bit like a jazz but a slightly fatter sound. This is exactly what I am after. I will definitely play before I pay though. Now, just need to sell one of my Bongos to fund one.
20. White n maple looks classy. I'll never forget the first time I played a p bass in a band, it sounded pure magic. It even sounded great with just the drums and bass. I have used that eBay seller for a pickguard before. Great quality and great prices.
21.
http://www.gak.co.uk/en/squier-vintage-modified-jazz-bass-v-upraded-olympic-white/85224 Or did you mean in black? It's a damn shame they only do that in white or natural finishes.
Yeah, a black n maple 5 stringer. Looks gorgeous.
22. That is a gorgeous looking bass. I wish they did them in a 5 string.
23. Looks stunning! Congrats
24. Nope, I've never noticed it. I use the floating thumb techique as I started playing a p bass but preferred the sound by plucking nearer to the bridge. The zero mod thumb rest would be your best solution.
