I bought this last year to use for my now-aborted bass monitor project- it's just sitting idle in my flat so it may as well go! In brand-new condition, never gigged. This would be perfect for somebody's PA, or you could just cut it up and make loads of spare speaker leads for your amp! 1/4" jacks fitted at either end- cable used is Piranha Speakerflex 1.5. Total length (inc. jacks) is approximately 9.9 metres/ 32.5 feet. Looking for just £12 posted! NOW SOLD!

Not sure how much they're going for at the moment, but a 2nd-hand Eden Nemesis combo might do the trick...

Sorry Alex, I completely jumped the gun there! Sorry to everybody else waiting for their Compacts, for getting their hopes up! Oh well, only a few extra days to wait... -

Yay! One of those is mine- should hopefully take delivery at the weekend! -

This is a brilliant cab, take it from me! I've been very fortunate to have had this beauty on loan for the last few days from Alan (who is now the new owner of my Aggie GS112's btw!)- it sounds astonishing and I'd love to keep it, but it's way more than I sensibly need right now! £400 is a stupendous bargain for somebody- good luck with the sale mate! ps. Cetera should be all over this any minute now!

That's a great amp you've got there! I had a blast through a Black Beauty a few years ago at the big Dawson's in Manchester and really, really liked it. It's a heavy bugger from what I recall though!

+1! I ordered the second-last one (I believe) of Alex's latest batch a few days ago- can't wait to get my hands on it! Those finished cabs look great with their new badges too... I'm planning to A/B the incoming Compact at gigging volume against my recently-acquired Genz Benz NEOX-212T, using my GB Shuttle 6.0 as the test head. I'm going to borrow a friend's rehearsal studio for an evening so that I can crank both cabs up and give them a workout! 375W into an 8ohm Neo 15" V 600W into a 4ohm Neo 2x12"- the results should be interesting! -
I've got a Tacoma Thunderchief, which is meant to be one of the louder acoustic basses around, but even with a pick I can barely keep up with our rhythm guitarist's Washburn acoustic- he does hit the strings bloody hard though! Unfortunately for me, if I want to be heard without using a pick (or with one, in this case!), then I have to plug in... which defeats the purpose of having an acoustic bass for me! I'd rather just play electric instead in those situations, and not have to deal with feedback problems. Having said that, the Thunderchief does sound good on my band's weekly radio slot though (albeit with a mic in front of it!). Hope that you can find something that works for you Jobie!

another +1 on the VT Bass pedal! I use one regularly as a preamp for my DI-only gigs, and also run it into my Shuttle head to get a fat old-school tone when needed. Really good for the gritty, grindy stuff, but also does clean sounds very well too- very versatile! EDIT: It works very well with the LMII too (I used to have one myself until very recently)- set the amp completely flat and shape your tone with the pedal- it sounds great!

PM coming your way Mark!

Al bought a 2U rack case from me last week- another straightforward & easy deal with a BC'er completed... Thanks mate!

+1 & RIP Uriel. A rock-solid yet capable drummer who puts the music first is truly hard to find IMO, particularly one who's got a great sound! Why do so many drummers play those horrible over-tightened piccolo snares?!* *EDIT: Specifically I mean using the aforementioned drum when it doesn't suit the music being played at all (imagine if AC/DC's drummer used one for example?)

Saw this photo on another thread earlier... interesting to see the innards of the Compact on show! I'm teetering on the edge of ordering one now- don't suppose there are any still available from the new batch Alex? PM me if you prefer... -
Sorry for going OT a bit, but it's interesting to finally see the innards of the Compact cabs Alex!

No worries mate, you'll be first in line!

I've just got one- a NEOX-212T that is! Just traded my pair of Aguilar GS112s for it earlier this evening with Alan AKA niceguyhomer (who's a lovely bloke by the way!)- first impressions are... WOW!

Nice one, thanks mate!

I owned a Landmark 300 for about 5 years and loved just about everything about it- it never let me down once in all the time I owned it- not even a blown fuse! Very versatile amp- I only sold mine because I needed a bit more headroom... This is one of the best built, best sounding pieces of kit I've used- like pretty much everything else that Tech 21 make IMO! I currently use a BDDI and a VT Bass pedal, and neither of them are going anywhere... Hey Cetera, I'm just going a bit OT here, but how does the Landmark 600 sound with your NEOX-212T, and do you use the tweeter at all? I'm looking into getting one of these cabs at the moment, and want to know if they can bring the grind for pickstyle hard rock? I'm not a fan of horns, so need the grind from the drivers (like it's meant to be!). Does it deliver the goods?

When I owned these, I found that one cab with some low-end boost could easily keep up with a loud band for onstage volume (our guitarist plays through either a cranked-up Vox combo or a Bassman 50 head with a Torres 4x10!). The sound of both cabs together is something else however, take it from me! I depped for a mate's covers band one Saturday evening last year, playing a wedding in a large hotel function room. The band rarely use the subs with their PA, so it was up to the Bergs and my Little Mark II to carry the low-end. I got the longest lead I could find during soundcheck, and walked as far back from the stage with my Jazz Bass as I could whilst we ran through some tunes. Best FOH sound I've ever had without PA support- The tone was full yet punchy, and projected really well into the room. The onstage sound was pretty damn good too, although I'm glad I brought my earplugs... You're going to love gigging these Michael!

I use a GRAMMA Pad and am very pleased with it! I've been using it on my band's quiet gigs (we play 2 nights a week in a cocktail bar with a sound limiter that cuts out if somebody farts, so DI/monitors only allowed!)- I use it underneath the monitor that I share with our drummer's electronic kit, and it's made a BIG difference! Using it has cut out most of the boominess of the hollow stage that was creating havoc with the band's onstage sound, and everyone can hear themselves better as a result. Well worth it IMO, whether you buy one or make your own...

I'm not a fan of tweeters either I must say- I always prefer them completely off. Not even the ones in my Berg HS210's (now WaterofTyne's) could convert me, but then again the drivers in those cabs are so good, you'd rarely need to use them anyway... However... I've just bought a pair of 2nd-hand Aguilar GS112's which have tweeters fitted, and I've found that because the drivers don't reach up as high as the Bergs do, I've had to dial a smidge into the top cab for a bit of detail when using my Jazz Bass for certain styles. I'm gigging both of them with my Shuttle 6.0 this weekend, so I'll hopefully get a better idea of how they fit into the mix at volume...

That is indeed an amazing rig you have there Michael- glad I could fix you up with them! I'll bet the M-pulse sounds incredible through the Bergs, hopefully I'll get to hear it someday... I've replaced these beauties with a brace of 2nd-hand Aguilar GS112s- I'm liking them so far, but then again I haven't cranked them up on a gig yet! Will put that right on Sunday though...
