1. Hi everyone, I've recently switched over to Dunlop straplocks for all my instruments, so these are now surplus to requirements. They work perfectly, with minimal wear- the mounting screws haven't been used. After £8 for these, including postage to UK mainland. PM if interested... cheers! 2. Hi everyone, I bought these from Kim AKA kdubb24 a couple of months ago- they are high-output, dual-rail humbuckers that fit in standard Jazz Bass pickup routs (notably used by Ben Kenney of Incubus, who gets superb tone with them). After trying these out however, I realised that I still preferred Nordstrand NJ4s in my Jazz Bass... They were carefully installed for me by KGB Music in Birkenhead, so the pickups are still in great condition, and come with the plastic shipping box and instruction sheet. The original screws were not supplied when I bought these, so I had KGB shorten some Fender pickup screws to fit them- these will be included in the sale. I will add that the wires were trimmed a bit to make a neat installation (not my decision!), but there's still more than enough material left for the new owner to work with. Bearing this in mind, I am asking £125 for these, including UK shipping. No offers please! EDIT: GONE Please PM if interested... cheers! 3.
This looks a beat, Very tempting at that price. I have never played a Lakland but love the recorded sounds I have heard and the look and colour of this beastie. I already have too many basses though so good luck with your sale. Have a bump!
Thanks mate, it really is lovely to play! The neck profile is very reminiscent of a 70's Jazz, but with a flatter radius across the fingerboard- along with the factory Plek set-up and the easy-access truss rod wheel, this makes it easy to dial in a super-low action if you want it... EDIT: Now withdrawn- I've decided to hold onto this for now!
4. Now reduced to £520 (posted in UK) or £500 collected- if this still doesn't sell at this ludicrous price, I'm keeping it! PS will gladly trade for a REDDI plus cash...
5. I've got one! Bought it last year from a fellow Basschatter as my entry into DB world, and I love it! Mine had been properly set up with Innovation Silver Slaps (synthetic gut), and plays beautifully with a big sound (I only play pizz)- always gets positive comments from my fellow musicians! The only issue I've had was with the endpin rattling- I found that it was coming from the tiny retaining rivet at the top of the endpin itself. A couple of minutes with a hacksaw cured the issue...
6. Just took delivery of Kim's Joe Barden JB4 pickups- as mentioned before, a top bloke to deal with! The pickups took a while to arrive, but this was due to Royal Snail taking ages to deliver the package- Kim was absolutely spot on during our communications over the sale, and I wouldn't hesitate to deal with him again... thanks mate!

8.
I am in love with this bass!!! Get a bump
Thanks mate, it is a lovely instrument indeed!
9. Weekend bump... considering keeping this and relocating the neck pickup further back- get in there before I make my mind up!
10. Just took delivery of Andy's {sfx} H-1 headphone amp- great bit of kit at a bargain price, and delivered pretty quickly too! Thanks mate...
11. Another gold star here for Jim! I took delivery of his other Hipshot D-tuner yesterday- shipped out the same day as payment, packed really well, and arrived well within 24hrs... couldn't ask for more! Thanks mate...
12. Hi everyone, I bought this back in June from Harry AKA Hazbeen (great bloke!)- these are fantastic playing and sounding instruments as many of you will know. It's the passive model (V-V-T controls), and has the single-coil Chisonics fitted. These models came with the Plek setup as standard, so you can set the action absurdly low if that's your preference! Cosmetically, I'd say it's 7/10- it's been gigged by myself and the previous owner, so there are a few very minor scratches and dings (see photos), but nothing to worry about. It plays great, and is currently fitted with Ernie Ball rounds (strung through the body). Weight-wise, it comes in at just under 9lbs (or 4KG exactly), measured with my reasonably-accurate luggage scales. I'll accept £520 for this, which includes UK shipping, a good-quality padded gigbag, and a spare set of strings (D'addario XL nickel rounds- fitted once, but very little use). EDIT: NOW WITHDRAWN... Etienne
13. I've just taken delivery of Harry's Lakland Skyline Decade- a superb bass from undoubtedly one of the BC community's most upstanding members... The bass arrived fast from the Netherlands, and in great condition too, thanks to super-quick international shipping, and the most thorough packaging of an instrument that I can ever recall seeing in all my years of buying gear! Add this to keen pricing, friendly and regular communication, and willingness to go the extra mile, and you can't lose! I highly, highly recommend this fellow... Thanks again Harry! Etienne
14. Thanks Harry, the pleasure was mine!
15.
Just sold my Boss oc-2 octaver to Etienne, good communication throughout and many thanks again. Hope you enjoy playing with it!
Thankyou Mark!
Bought a bass from Etienne. Met up, sorry we didn't have more time to chat. Great chap to do business with and a very decent fellow. Excellent communication throughout, buy with total confidence. Many thanks.
And thankyou too Mark!
16. I met up with Mark (and his son Daniel) earlier on this afternoon to hand him over the Fender Roscoe Beck V that he bought from me- what a lovely bloke! We had a good chat about music over coffee and cake, which only came to an end because I was running late to meet another Basschatter (coincidentally also called Mark). As far as the deal went, it couldn't have been any smoother- communication was excellent, and very quick, hassle-free payment too. It was a pleasure to have met you both, and I'm glad you finally got your hands on the bass you wanted Mark! Best wishes mate, Etienne
17. I just bought Mark's Boss OC-2 this afternoon- great bit of kit! Mark came across as a lovely bloke, and knocked a few quid off the price as I was collecting the pedal in person... recommended!
18.
Cheers, Etienne! As it 'appens, I really like the tweeterless top-end of the EX112ER. I think I prefer it to the HT with the horn rolled off. I might go for another EX and run a pair of 'em...
I've not spent enough time with a HT112ER to hear the difference between it and the EX, but I'll take your word for it! Agreed that the EX's have a great top end on them as they are- more than enough for most people's needs. I usually back the treble control down to 10, sometimes 9 o'clock on my WA when I use mine, and there's still plenty of life in the sound for my taste. HT/EX or EX/EX, it's an amazing sounding rig, whatever you end up going with!
19. Good choice Michael! I'm fortunate enough to have a pair of EX112ERs and the HS410- my Walkabout works brilliantly with either setup. Have to say that the 12's edge it for me with a P-Bass, whilst the 10's nail it for me with a Jazz...
20.
The world is your oyster now
Indeed!
21.
That was quick!
I know, it surprised me too! Now... what do I spend the proceeds on?
