1.
What gauge are these? Didn't think they were particularly light? Cheers
They're light for someone who plays double bass for a living. These are on hold for someone now.
2. These came off a recent purchase, I just don't get on with the light gauges. They're in excellent condition. Cut foe a Nordy 4/1 headstock, however the E has been cut quite short compared to the rest of the strings though (doesn't affect tuning or playability). The G has lots of silk left so will fit a Fender 4 in a line headstock if you want to do that. £30 posted *SOLD*
3. Forgot I had these bump
4. Great strings but they just don't suit my bass. These are standard 34 scale, gauges are 43 60 82 104 128. They've only been on the bass a week & have been cut to fit a Nordy 4/1 headstock. *SOLD*
5. Tomorrow (Sun 17th) is a good 'un! Esperanza Spalding - Barbican 4pm Wayne w John Patitucci - Barbican 8pm Fly w Larry Grenadier - Pizza express 8pm
6. Nothing to see here
7. I've a few spaces available over the next few months. If anyone's interested send me a pm & we can sort something out.
8. Great hardly used pedal in immaculate condition with original box. £65 posted *NOW SOLD*
9. Back to the top
10. There's a select few speaking sense here but come guys, I thought EVERYONE on this forum is a MUSICIAN. Clearly not...
11.
Not sure if I have attached the file correctly but was wondering if anyone recognised these strings. They appear pretty high tension to me.
Thomastik Superfexible. They're good strings, similar to spiros but with a bit less of a metallic edge to the sound.
12. I'd check out Chris Long's bass. Details are down this page https://www.musicalchairs.info/double-bass/sales. Never played it myself, but I've sat directly in front of him in the orchestra & he makes a hell of a sound on it. Proper orchestral workhorse for £5000. Thinks he's based in Cardiff now.
13. Cheers Barrie, it's a great bass but I always need 5 strings for work, otherwise I'd keep it.
14. A great P bass from Performance Guitars in LA. If you've never heard of them before they make & maintain instruments for the who's who of LA's session musicians. http://performanceguitar.com/ This bass has a standard wide early 60's neck with a slab rosewood fingerboard. The body is olympic white over fiesta red nitro in true vintage Fender style. You can see the red through a couple of dings here & there. It's a great playing instrument and sounds fat & warm like any good p bass should. I always had compliments from colleagues & sound guys when using it. The build quality easily compares to the likes of Sadowsky & US Lakland. Barrie (Molan) owned it before me when it was wearing black hardwear & a white pickguard. I much prefer it in its current vintage look. Selling as I only ever use my Celinder 5 these days. It's currently over at the Gallery in Camden if you want to try it out. 15. Bump for pics & price dropped to £225 posted
16. *SOLD* Great pickup but I'm just not using it anymore. Sounds natural and much less electric than piezo pickups with the correct placement on your bass. Equally good at amplifying both arco & pizz. Very easy to put on and take off. In good condition although the wooden carry box has a few scuffs. Schertler's web page http://www.schertler...-double-bass-2/ £225 posted
