1. Hi Tom, yes they're black too. Call it a tenner for those together.
2. I've just taken these off a recent purchase as i'm transferring it back to all chrome. Everything's in good nick and prices include postage. I'm afraid I can only accept bank transfer or cash on collection, no paypal. Hipshot HB2 lollipop tuners incl. bushings and screws (4 in a line Fender style) - £50 posted Also a string guide, strap buttons, 2 dome top p bass knobs & pickguard screws (all black) - £10 posted for the lot *ALL SOLD*
3.
Are you interested in trades ?
Afraid not
4. Also forgot to say, my paypal account got hacked so I can't accept payment via that way at the mo. Bank transfer and cash on collection are fine though.
5. Never ever really use effects other than my Diamond bass comp so might as well sell them on. Fulltone Fat-boost v1 (supposedly the best one on bass). It says it's a discrete clean boost on the box but it's far from it in reality. It's an amazing little pedal that adds a tonne of presence to your sound and the drive knob adds a nice touch of creamy valve-like grit. It's a very natural sounding drive with no nasty high end fizz. It's true bypass and comes boxed in excellent condition. *SOLD* Xotic BB bass preamp. This is apparently a modified tubescreamer with a powerful 2 band eq. Sounds absolutely awesome with no loss of low end. Works perfectly but has a few paint chips and 'grantt' & '59' written on the base in silver pen (no idea why?). No box with this one. *SOLD*
6. Pre CBS Fender style reverse tuners. Not sure of make but they came off my new Performance Guitars p bass so should be quality parts. 4 in a line right handed. Complete with bushings but no screws. £30 posted *EDIT NOW SOLD* Also forgot to say, my paypal account got hacked so I can't accept payment via that way at the mo. Bank transfer and cash on collection are fine though.
' post='1202832' date='Apr 17 2011, 06:46 PM']Hi I am looking for a teacher of DB in the Bexley/Belvedere area of kent
Hi David, I'm based not too far away in Catford SE6 if that's any good for you. Have plenty of teaching experience, a degree in classical bass and a teaching diploma both from the Royal Academy of Music. Get in touch if you're interested. Cheers, Chris

10. I bought this bass around this time last year from a guy who hadn't played it in 30 years and it's really improved in the time I've had it, thanks to various setup tweaks by bass genius Malcolm Healey and regular professional use. It's a typical German Mittenwald shop bass from c1880. 7/8 size with a 105cm stop. It started life as a blockless bass but has since had a really nice new blocked neck made by Mike Hart and retains the original scroll. It's a great chamber music and jazz bass, projects well and is very consistent string to string. I'm based in Catford, SE London for viewing and the bass is priced at £4000. No trades unless you have a good modern bass of similar playing qualities (eg Bryant).
11. Lovely, I used to play one of Joel's later solo basses, just like this one only with the lion head scroll and violin corners. Beautiful instruments. Good luck with the sale.
12. I absolutely love this bass but unfortunately being quite old, it can suffer a bit in the hold of the plane and I'm a bit fed up with having it repaired all the time. It's probably not very likely, but are they any forum members that would be up for a trade with a modern instrument of similar value and playing qualities? 14. Try to relax more, let the weight of your arm do all the work and keep your thumb bent and flexible. Don't lock it in position, your tendons won't thank you for it. Check out Rinat's (LSO principal) hold on this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n2JanKszFoQ And some nice side on shots of Edgar Meyer's hold in this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P4uPK809WlM
15. Bought this a while back for my 2nd bass but unfortunately it doesn't fit properly. That bass has a really short tailpiece and the quiver hangs too low and won't fit in the case without removing it. This is the one £25 posted *SOLD*
16.
seem's they're Steel wound http://www.pirastro.com/homeset.html
That's true but it's only the thin outer wrap that's metal, inside it's all synthetic. You could try them with a mag pickup but I doubt there's enough metal in there for it to work properly. Might be an expensive experiment if it doesn't work out.
17. Evah's are most definitely synthetic.
18. I've got a Finale too and it is amazing for the money (about £300 all in and that includes a case). Nice weight, great balance, draws sound really easily. I'd recommend them to anyone. However, whilst it does punch well above weight, there's no way I'd compare to it an expensive wooden bow. Machine made carbon just doesn't sound anything like the finest quality pernambuco hand carved by a master craftsman. I would like to try an Arcus bow someday to see how they compare though.
19. Probably not, you need strings with metal cores for mag pickups.
20. Bump
