1. Just tried these on a new bass but they're just too low tension for me. Only been on the bass for a day & then taken off so they are in as new condition. £100
2. D'addario Kaplan heavy set - £90 Thomastik Spirocore medium E 4/4 - £25 Thomastik Belcanto G (brand new sealed) - £30 All except the Belcanto have seen about 6 months playing & are still in excellent condition with plenty of life left. Prices include postage.
3. Had a quick blast on this today while picking up another of Si's basses. It's an amazing bass, a real player as well as being in amazing condition. Whoever buys this won't be disappointed!
4. Bump, just set this up with a set of DR Lo Riders and it sounds incredible.
5.
If anyone around Bradford area fancies a tryout, I have a Seifert german bow (not letting go of it!) by way of a rough quality comparison. Suffice to say I think it's gorgeous! Serious bargain at this price, too. GLWTS
Many thanks Hubrad! It's a good bow but I just don't use it, my Reid Hudson always gets 1st call.
6. Open to offers on this one, but please no trades
7.
Thanks again. I hate to embarrass you on a public forum but the downtuned ones are meant to be like that. They are for Metal
Awesome!
8. updated with nut & bridge measurements, it's all standard Fender 5 string
9.
Thanks Joe, I have copied and pasted both responses to her so she knows that he is sound
Tell her to bring a tuner, I went round recently & every one of the basses ranged from a couple of tones to a full fifth flat! Spent more time tuning than playing, not good. Keep in mind too that most have got rubbish strings so it's difficult to tell how they actually sound. He seems like a nice guy though.
10.
Is it an illusion or is the neck very wide at the nut - what is the measurement there?
Just an illusion because of the blocks & binding, it's a very comfortable neck to play on. Will get it measured up later today.
11. Beautiful cobalt blue jazz 5 from the Fender Custom Shop. Got this in a recent trade & whilst it's a stunningly good bass, I'm in the process of buying a new double bass and need some funds to go towards it. Specs Made in 2011 Ash body Birdseye maple neck Rosewood board with blocks & binding Fender noiseless pickups J-retro preamp (original Fender active pre is included too) Ramp (removed at present) C & G case with all case candy (CS certificate, leather strap, strap locks, manuals, tags, picks etc) Weight is 9.6lbs 19mm bridge spacing 1.875" nut width Condition-wise, the neck is spotless. On the front of the body there are 2 v small nicks in the lacquer & the back has the usual surface marks associated with a proper gigging bass. You're more than welcome to come round for a cuppa & try out the bass in Catford, SE London. I won't post this but I do travel often with my work, so may be able to deliver in person depending on where you are. £1750 ono *No trades please*
