1. Terrible news, one of the heroes RIP
2. Barefaced seem to be picking up at least one new customer a day on basschat. Cool.
3. Another vote for the Barefaced 215. You mentioned your current cab being too heavy, check out this thread on talkbass http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f15/barefaced-super-15-arrived-today-866663/index2.html Apparently a tiny vegan lady can lift it with ease! Nothing but incredible reviews from the barefaced range - worth a serious look. (I'm ordering my barefaced 212 tomorrow!)
4. True that. Right, ordering tomorrow. Thanks guys!
5. I reckon I'll go for the barefaced. So that's settled ...now, is that tweeter necessary? hah!
6. I've heard that about the barefaced, to be honest I can see myself shelling out that little bit more just to see what all the fuss is about!
7. I am expecting exactly those, however I thought it may be worth hearing opinions for/against either cab when paired with the particular amp. I'm awaiting pearls of wisdom from all you basschatters...
8. Hey folks! I have an Orange Terror Bass 500 on the way. I have been threatening to buy one for over a year and it's finally happened! There are two cabs I keep coming back to - being the Genz Benz neo212 and the Barefaced Super 12. My question, and I know it's almost entirely subjective, is which one to go for? I look at one and say 'Whooaaa that's the one!' and then look at the other and do the same. The GB is a little cheaper, but it's not a deal breaker. Money is awaiting, Just the decision needs to be made! Ta Zak
9. Righto, I havn't been playing that long, been recording for a couple of years. This is something from 2008, I had just got my upright...and we made a children's album. http://dl.dropbox.co...h%20%282%29.wma and this is from...the other day.I love playing this stuff, so much fun! http://dl.dropbox.co...t%20Crusade.m4a enjoy. x x
10. Some of you guys might remember a tune I posted a few weeks ago called 'last crusade'. As with all our tunes it's been remixed into something more serious. Let us know what ya think! I want to do a video for this at some point. That would be nice. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5087999/Bear%20Face%20Boot%20-%20Last%20Crusade.m4a Ta very much Zak x
11. Yeah! this is great man, just my cup of tea The low end sounds great to me, through my AKGs..
12. Also, Oli@bass had a staus necked stingray, and he posted a thread of extensive sound comparisons between that, maple necked, rosewood and mahongany versions. I can't find that thread now but give him a shout I'm sure he'd be willing to help! In my opinion, the status neck is the ideal compliment to the stingray sound.
13. beautiful. Love the combo of candy red and covers!
14. This is on overwhelmingly positive response...thanks. Beats are programmed, bass and snare sampled from a Tom Waits tune. Our mate (who is essentially the third member of this band) is working on his own remix, which I'll post when it's done. His work is always unbelievable!
15.
That's f***ing GOOD! I really like it! You have a really good ear for a tune mate. What happened to those tunes you did for a childrens' album? They were so good, even for old buggers like me, I loved them.
Ah Thanks! We've started just mass recording basslines and building these tunes around them. It seems to work quite well The children's stuff has been put aside for now while we try and find someone to do artwork for the cover. We've had a few great people do fantastic work, so it's getting there slowly. I really want to get those out! Especially if they're appealing to older people too...
Love it! Sounds very fresh and original - kinda like 'The Streets vs. Roni Size', or something.
Hah! This is probably because all we listen to at the moment is the streets and Roni Size!
16. Yeah it's an upright, recorded just using the K+K Bass Max..Glad you appreciate it man!
17. This tune just started out as a bassline I recorded over christmas, then my brother just sent me this tune which has been built around it. Let us know what you think... http://soundcloud.com/louis-duarte/last-crusade Thanks guys and gals
18. I like very much. The bass sounds sick...
19. Sounds like a beautiful bass. If you can trade it for a double pickup version ...do it!
20. Yeah sick playing man! Great tune.
21. heheh cheers guys. No album as of yet but we've recorded loads of songs, just waiting to compile an album I suppose!
22. Thanks guys! Yeah it's an original ...we'll be uploading more soon!
23. We just did this in our home studio... Mistakes are mandatory but let us know what ya think! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a0Hd9r-aCPc Cheers Zak
24. Thanks man! Check out the new recording at the top if ya can.
