1. Or a Bongo? (how many threads have I answered with these exact words?)
2. This. Well I am.. Impeccable bass work there!
3. I'm interested in the N3 pickups. Are they Bongo-esque neodymium magnets?
4.
could've been worse, imagine the uproar if he'd been doing some Carcass covers!! Genital Grinder or Malignant Defecation anybody?
Or Cannibal Corpse covers... ...."Entrails ripped from a virgin's c***" anyone?
5. I love this picture. From left to right there is always something going on. 3 Band members, little boy coming to give us money, and the parents sending him on his way...awesome.
6. Looks absolutely great. You should definitely try to get those pink pickup covers, that would be insane in the membrane.
7. Not inexpensive, but I want one! http://www.moogmusic.com/controllers/?sect...roduct_id=21141
8.
All basses should three single coils.
Or at least be different to a precision. Except precisions, they're cool.
9. Beautiful Beautiful Beautiful Beautiful Beautiful Beautiful Beautiful Beautiful Beautiful Beautiful ... and now with mahogany bodies!
10.
FWIW, I'd recommend some kind of fretless Musicman! I'm not one to rave about Musicman basses that are fretted, although they are damn good, but fretless, they are fantastic! I have a Sabre necked custom bass that is just fantastic. It has made fretless my main instrument! I think that pickup placement is great for fretless, you can have loads of Jaco style honk at the same time as loads of strong fundamental!
+1 on this. I had a fretless Ray and to be honest it was the best bass I ever had. It could do everything my fretted Ray could, and then some. Deep, phat, tight fretless tones. Just perfect.
11. Well for a start I never touch the mid knob (why I own 3 Bongos each with 2 mid knobs is anyone's guess....) but I also just prefer the subtle differences in the tone over that of the 3EQ. I'm talking those tiny differences you hear. Also I like how there are no detents, you just kind of turn the knobs until it sounds good, without being influenced by whether it is flat or not. The 2EQ also puts out more lower frequencies. It is literally subsonic in that respect, it goes down to 20hz rather than the 3EQ's 50hz. Not really such a big deal, I just prefer it's entire vibe. Plus, it looks cooler with the output jack on the front.
12. There is a thread over on the EBMM forum which shows the differences between many different models here: http://www.ernieball.com/forums/music-man-...d-examples.html Personally, I reckon the HH is the best, if only it came in 2EQ...
13. I just got the album that is is from. It's FRIKKIN' good!
14. These are absolutely great (see my sig!) so free bump from me!
15.
I don't really rate the concept of the band having a "look", but most of the shows I enjoy going to are punk or ska. Most of the time the band are wearing pretty similar clothes to the audience and no one cares - passion over fashion
Same here man, but I will also wear my bleachers and spike up my mohawk for a funk gig too. People looked at me funny at a Maceo gig in the Jazz Cafe...
16. They probably make a 'fleabass' in purple surely?
17. Oh MB1, I saw that you had posted on this and my immediate reaction was "Oh no" ...heheh. Cheers, it is a nice bass! But I think it is now sold, wow, that was very fast indeed! Stan da man, you're in for a treat.
18. Already got some interest, but bump just in case!
19.
If it's for sale, you must state a price.
Original post edited, now with more info.
20. As the title says, I am considering selling my Bongo HS in egyptian Smoke. This has an 18 volt preamp with a 4 band EQ and pickup blend. The Pickups are Neodymium and are HOT. This bass sounds absolutely incredible, kind of like a cross between a StingRay and a Jazz, it can get big ballsy tones, tight bright funky tones and anything in between. It plays SO well, the neck is PERFECT and the action in INCREDIBLE. It's a perfect bass, really. I'm only considering selling as I have 2 other Bongos (5 strings) which I play more. The money from this can therefore go towards a decent sampler which I am craving. It is mint, apart from the typical tiny headstock ding. It is also fitted with a 'ramp' between the pickups (by basschat's very own Paul_C). Comes with padded gigbag. Hit me with some offers, you know you want to. They're not ugly, and they sound sublime! If you are not familiar with it at all, there is a review (of the 6 string version) here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lS0mQDmQzAs Obviously, the sounds are gonna be the same! Looking for £850... Zak
