Synth pedals

EHX XO MicroSynth = Excellent. Chunk = more excellent but more money (a lot more) Or Moog?

Hello

Those keyboard basslines are awesome too! Welcome!
3. Are there any others apart from the Qtron+ and meatball? I cant afford the meatball, and I have a Qtron. I want to run the Qtron through an FX loop on another envelope filter... That would be sweet.
4. The string alignment looks fine to me, and my ray actually looks a bit like that. The sound quality shouldn't be affected. I'm not sure how you would adjust it, but it would LOOK nicer if it aligned perfectly. I'm sure someone else will chime in...
5. I think you should get a better preamp than the olp though... Looks like a suave project, coming on well!
6.
Ideally trade for something fretless but as i've said, anything considered. Will also consider trades on amps/cabs.
Oh you dirty copycat!
7. Dont swap man, the natural is sweet. I'll have that off you if you dont want it! Oh and gareth, LOVE that fretless! Me want.
8. I thought fuzz sounds very good through the loop, much better than just putting it after. On the EHX website they run ametal muff through it, and it sounds win.
9. Stole that from the guy I bought it from. It's like that the whole way up the neck and headstock, just beautiful.
10. The MuRF and the expression pedal are missing (I left them at band practice), getting a Moog low pass filter and POG pretty soon. Nothing needs to be said, hands down best ever finish on a bass. I got the basses when I was 16 (that was a good year for me!) effects are a newer addition to my rig. I've had the qtron forever, but the rest are trickling in nicely... And the banjo..is a banjo. Sorry for crappy phone pics
11. Really, it isn't as hard as it looks. You'll be up and down that neck in no time!
12.
this is sold apparently
'Well you know what they say...bummers are deaf'
13. Ed friedland does a fantastic review of the 4 string version, its on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WT4AP58jC5o Best review/sound demo. If I had the cash, I'd be all over this BUMP!
14. great looking bass...I don't suppose you're interested in fretless? Judging by the 'metal face' I'd think not, but ya never know!
15. I wish I had that sort of money lying around...
16. I love my Rays, and the precision, but I still feel like the perfect bass is out there...I suspect it's either a bongo or an L2000... Either way, I can't bring myself to part with the rays, as they jus look too good! Autumn Redrise has got to be the most beautiful finish out there, and a natural fretless ray with amazing grain and the craziest birdseye neck looks good too. I will get both an L2000 and a bongo without selling, even if it takes me a while. And as the man at the local music shop says, 'don't ever sell a bass, just keep collecting...'
17. I plan on getting a moog ep-2 for the murf - can that be used as a volume pedal?
18. +1 on the ernie ball
19. Does anyone know if it is possible to mod the bass microsynth to enable you to control the filter sweep as you play using an expression pedal? Anyone know of anyone who could do it? That would be a COOL sound! Thanks
20. I noticed that with my fretless - if I slide down then it just completely cuts the sound. Kinda cool i think

gameboy sound

ehx frequency analyzer maybe? not really a 'typical' ring mod, if ring mods can be 'typical'.

black finger

The akai synth is more polite sounding, the microsynth sounds like the devils bowel movements and the MuRF is quite different. It is more a percussive effect/stereo phaser/whooshing crazyness/i don't know what. I love my microsynth and bass murf. Both are fantastic, top notch pedals. Check moogmusic.com for murf samples, and ehx.com for microsynth demos if you need more info. I'd check the normal murf aswell as bass murf samples, too. As for the compressors, I'd go for the black finger as it is not that much more - and it is said to be one of the best compressors around. The black finger may be large, but the white isnt any better, being Qtron sized.
23. Microsynth is an absolute classic! I'm just bummed I bought mine the DAY before the new one was brought out! Still makes those crazy funky sounds though. What are the sliders like? Mine feel like they will break anytime...
24. Hey, check out the curtis novak charlie christian style P pickup. Curtis wires his pickups by hand, and they have fantastic tone. The charlie christian has FAT ton without the massive midrange boost (or the scoop asscosiated with the seymour 1/4 pounder) Just a suggestion.
25. OH MAN. This is THE bass I have been looking for! Put the chrome covers on that and you are looking at one HANDSOME bass, my friend.
