Yeah i can just about see that.... If you're that worried, ask him to put up a picture of the serial numbers, he sounds genuine enough to me, or ask him to take a picture of the other battery compartment, one of them looks a bit messed up.
overpowering in volume, it is not.... ...but it sounds good, if you can hear it (taken before i sold my lmb-3)
Ooh i tried one of them out, very nice little rig, i was on about getting one but alas, they got discontinued and sound control closed down

Yeah i quite like it, though it does look like someone has just made their own neck and slapped it on, does look nice though.
Please show your proofs, young man. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duct_tape Duct tape is Gaffa tape used in the military, US and supposedly, on "Ducts" Gaffa tape http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaffer_tape Called "Gaffer" tape on wikipedia, is the stage version. Uses: http://people.bath.ac.uk/su2bc/humour/gaff...fer_display.php I guess it depends on how industrial your music is whether you use Gaffa tape or Duct tape... Honorable mention: In motor-sport it's called Tank Tape http://merlinmotorsport.co.uk/product_info...medium=Shopping The good stuff is the same thing but there are loads of inferior copies or "tribute tapes" around that claim to be Gaffa tape but are really carpet tape or just crap tape.
I thought gaffa tape was black and duct tape silver.... maybe that's just me picking things up from nowhere though?

Co-ordinated dance moves are about the gayest looking things ever. Just do what feels natural to you. If you're in a rock/metal band then headbang a lot, if you're in a punk or funk band dance around like a nutter, if you're in a jazz band sway a bit, just do what feels natural and helps you have fun. I tend not to move about to much but just headbang at our heavier bits, but i've not had a lot of time to get used to the stage but i'm sure i will with time. It helps if you know most of your songs like the back of your hand, unfortunately we didn't so ya know...

If you've organised the gig and you're playing it too, remember to try and find somebody to do sound for your set more than 5 minutes before you go on stage!

Ahh did you buy that off ebay by any chance? I messaged the seller about that when it was up and asked if he had the original neck... apparently he used it in a project or something. why he couldn't have just bought a jazz knockoff neck i don't know. I wouldn't touch it with a stagg neck though (no offence). Would be a really nice bass with the original (or similar) jazz neck though. I'm gonna buy a new one (squier VMJ that is) in about september time. -
Sounds normal to me...

Oooh very nice, didn't realise the SR5 had 22 frets, strange. I hope you enjoy her Oh and nice hello kitty air freshener thing/whatever it is

I only have two basses at the moment, and they're my first two actually decent basses. I didn't pay much for them, £200 and £350 both used. I don't like buying new basses a whole lot, mainly because i can't afford them, and they depreciate so much, i don't want to lose too much money. I'm pretty confident that when the economy gets a bit better i could make my money back on my SUB bass and maybe even make a bit of a profit on my tobias. When i look for a bass though i take a number of things into consideration, things such as price, looks, sound, playability etc etc. Resale value didn't cross my mind as much because i don't think i'll sell them ever, but i know that if i needed to i could and not make a huge loss. Though i was thinking that the SUB bass might rocket in value in 20 years from now, but that's just speculation, i really don't care.

You can use dye to darken it, i know somebody that's done it, not sure what he used, i can ask if you like?
-
Yeah it's perfectly normal, mine do it occasionally when i haven't slapped much for a while.

My band have just split, i'm 17, based in nottingham (hucknall), i can't drive but i have some nice equipment as you can see in my signature and i like to think i'm a pretty good player, i have over 3 years playing experience, i don't really know much theory i will confess but i can write my own riffs etc and i've been one slightly successful band. We performed about 7 gigs but had to stop because of major fallouts involving money, women, people being kicked out and just general arseholes. Basically i'm looking for a metal band based in nottingham, preferably thrash or something but as long as it sounds good i don't mind!

awesome, that's a bargain and a half mate. Also white spirit should take sticker glue off

Haha i cant find any

Thanks for the compliments i was thinking about that idea but i didn't know how much it would cost... it's certainly something to think about, the only thing is making it so that if i wanted to sell it on i could take them out again because the old pickups could drop right in there. Oh and you're right yeah, those pickups actually came out of a USA tobias accoring to garbev MTD use them too. Anybody interested in some before and after sound clips? I rather like what they do to the sound, they seem to have a bit more bite and make the higher strings less tinny, while making the lower strings more boomy, but still retaining definition, i like!
