1. Long shot, but I'm looking to trade all the chrome hardware from my 4 string streamer $$ for exactly the same stuff in either black or gold (don't mind which). That would be: 4 knurled knobs bridge and tailpiece 4 chrome warwick tuning pegs + bushings + washers etc possibly the nickel dunlop straplocks too if you have any in black/gold Not looking for a sale, sorry
2. I have bad GAS for another Warwick, though I'm not sure what, I just know I want one! I couldn't get rid of my $$ though I don't think.
3. About £200-£250 is about on par with the few i've seen on ebay...
4. Blimey.... if i had 500 notes! Have a free bump on me mate, sorry i can't take it off you
5. Got a nice snare sound once out of a very similar beyerdynamic mic (can't remember the model number, it was a cardioid though), very good mics.
6. Unfortunately, the plates on those 20th SR4's are glued down, rather than screwed down. Why? I have no idea...
7.
Was that my old ATK Sam?! Another +1 from me for the ATK. They get much closer to the Stingray tone than anything else I've played. The clever coil switching also gives some pretty good P sounds as well. I only sold mine when I bought my first 'ray.
I've tried a few
8. The ibanez ATK is the only 'cheap' bass i've played that sounded anything like a stingray (and the only other non-musicman bass i've ever played that sounded like one was a warwick $$, i own one of course)
9. I think one of the mods used to have one of these, might have been ped, may be worth PMing them and asking their opinion RE price.
10. Playing with my new camera today, the photo is pretty poor due to the poor lighting, but oh well.
11.
Haha silly facial hair and the tash.
git
12. Urgh, i have no recent playing photos, as i haven't played live for AGES Hopefully that will change at uni. I thought I'd stick this up for a giggle though. It's obviously all me
13.
Would you put guide ropes at 90 degrees?
Sorry to be a killjoy.... but you usually do put tent pegs at about 90 degrees to the guy rope. Not 90 degrees to the floor however, as i think you meant
14.
I will try and get some shots together for you but in the mean time........ 8 Rays 6 Fenders 5 Overwaters 2 Rickenbackers 1 Wal 1 Hohner B2a 1 Hondo 830 Deluxe 1 Tanglewood Violin Bass 1 Squier Precision
Please don't be offended when you don't see a whole wave of sympathy from me then!
15.
Is the right answer. Besides, the MM bridges regardless of string through or back strung are made from a very thick plate and have very good hefty saddles which together with the bridge provide a great combo which gives you all the resonance you need and some. Aftermarket people cannot make a better one, simple as that.
Aye, MM bridges are pretty hefty bits of kit and nicely made, the bridge on my squier (and the one that came with my old fender) are just bent bits of tin, as people say.
16. Aye, personally I never had any problems with sustain etc on any of my MM basses.
17. nice, loving the dargie
18.
I could be wrong but aren't a lot of MM's through body?
Yep, you're wrong
19. Ricks, fender jazzes, my old stingray, which despite being absolutely gorgeous, just didn't sound how i wanted it to.
20. Cheers WOT, i did have a quick search but the words "instrument" and "insurance" spat out pretty much every thread on the forum
21. As the title says, what insurance do you guys do you use, what's good and bad etc? Insurers to avoid? I'm going to uni in 3 weeks and need to insure my gear for as little as possible, but make sure it's as well protected as possible and I'm not too sure where to start, so I'd really appreciate some of your guys' advice cheers
22. Great bit of kit this, I had one for a while, it had to go though, as i just didn't have enough headroom with the output of my warwick. Wish I still had it now I have a passive in my arsenal again! Good luck with the sale.
23. I'm looking at about 1k on basses, £500 for the amp, £300 or so on studio gear (then £150 on my guitar setup, cheap and cheerful yet very decent for the money) I buy used 99% of the time, so my rig is pretty cheap, but packs a massive punch and sounds great IMO. I've not really changed anything for a while with the exception of the addition of a fretless. However, it did take me a while to get here, and i would estimate i've spent in the region of 3k or so before i got where i am
24. That's pretty cool EDIT: You are a jenius DR. J! I'm currently building my bedroom in the new house, a bassdrobe would be a great idea!
