Does anyone know a good ear surgeon?
holy crap!
-
very nice, i keep seeing them on ebay and people don't seem to clean the aluminium much and it goes all cloudy and horrible looking, yours really looks nice, which is surprising because i don't usually like them, must be the shininess METALLL \m/

Hmmm, i may have to invest in one, i need a tuner for the stage, i was thinking of getting a fender chromatic tuner pedal but this is cheaper and more convenient, i might just go for it. If it's crap then i haven't spent loads on it.
-
Yeah i know what you mean, i might ask my guitarist to send me the file so i can spend some time mixing it, we did it at his house and mixed it there, but i've since started a course on sound engineering a few months ago and i'm probably better at mixing than he is, plus i could add some fancy stuff in there

Aye, i'm gonna try and move about a bit, my first gig i pretty much stood still because i was bricking it, but that's probably because it was infront of some 300 people.... Also i think we're using an intro our rhythm guitarist wrote, it's pretty damn good. Also if anyone's interested, here's our myspace
They look awesome but imagian a black scratchplate on the Jazz and a wihite scratchplate on the P.
Nah, white pickguard on black precision = waay ugly, far too generic. Also those pickups must only come on the jazz deluxe or something? Not seen them before.
Indeed they do Im just wondering on favourite woods for stains. Im quite partial to quilted maple myself. But i generally dont like trans black quilted maple (feel free if you know a particularly good example of it though!)
I think flame maple looks particularly good in trans black. -
You're joking. I must be the only person on the planet that's never seen that show.
one of two actually! Also clubbed to death by rob dougan would be a pretty damn cool intro.
Hucknall! I live there, near the football club. Unforunately I'm with the missus friday night or I would have popped down. If you're into hardcore punk, my mate is putting on an all dayer Sunday which my band are playing (www.myspace.com/hcalmosthome) in nottingham at Bunker's Hill (In nottingham right near the ice stadium near where academy of sound was opposite the subway) Don't mean to steal your thread...ooops! Ferg x
Haha awesome, small world! You should come down for an hour or so just to check us out We'll be on first i think
-
Haha all good ideas! might give that a go We've got a pretty cool pre-recorded intro sorted too, should be a good gig i hope.
Haha awesome Where abouts is it? what type of sruff are you playing?
At the rolls royce social club thing in hucknall, and we'll be playing thrash metal/hardcore sort of stuff, we're covering bullet for my valentine's scream aim fire, lord of hate by death angel and we've got two slightly more thrashy originals called sacrifice and from the ashes.
-
Last night my guitarist sprung on me that he wants our first gig to be next friday! (well he did ask me if it was alright first ), it's only four songs though, and provided we get a couple of practice sessions in before then we should be alright, we've only really had about four sessions anyway with us all there. I'm really looking forward to it though, should be a good laugh!
-
jesus, don't they usually go for about £300?
-
They're not meant to sound like american jazzes, but the decent 'high end' squier basses i've tried recently did all sound good. What can you expect from a £200? They're very good for the money. Also the bass in the first post is purdy i'd rather like to try one of thems.
-
nice basses there i think that P would look cool with the ashtrays back on IMO by the way, but it's your bass, i rather like black on black precisions though, much nicer than the generic white on black. Also what pickups are those in the jazz? They appear to have different size/numbers of pole pieces and in the wrong places.

0 feedback, how reasuring... Anybody reported it yet?

That would be DADG, DGCF is D standard. -
Things that make you a better bassist, a spectrum with best use of time at the top: Playing a gig / Practicing with a teacher having a jam learning new songs practicing alone studying theory playing Guitar hero having sex posing with bass in front of mirror posing naked in front of mirror playing Grand Theft Auto smelling your bass cooking food reading a novel self-touching whilst listening to Weather Report cutting off your hands posting online about basses In terms of computer games or non-bass-related passtimes, I think guitar hero can be a little helpful. But it doesn't have to be - it's a computer game.
haha nice list, made me chuckle

budget bassist replied to lushuk's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
aren't trace and ashdown made in the same place anyway? Or am i thinking of something else? Just realised that has a compressor on it, that's pretty cool, i could use that! shame i can't afford to blow £350 on a new amp! maybe in a year, i've only just bought my current one. -
probably a 35" scale or something and that combined with the string thru body stringing has made the strings too short.... though you would think the owner would buy appropriate strings.
-
forgive me for getting the wrong impression from the thread title, but it did make me chuckle a bit Some of their stuff looks pretty cool though...

looks like it's in nice condition, good luck with the sale! -
I thought i was the only one that thought "never been gigged" was a totally arbitrary statement to make, but obviously not, my basses have undergone more damage at home than anywhere else, other people's homes, school, college, practice, gigs etc, i really don't see the point in saying it, most people look after their stuff wherever it is. More to the point, damage is damage, whether it's done at a gig or not, I don't care where it's been! if there's damage then show us, if there isn't, then I don't care! I understand the relevance with cabs and things because yeah they do get bashed about a bit. But basses, they stay in their cases if they're not strapped round your shoulders most of the time.

Oh yeah i do that, but that's actual skill, being good at pressing 5 buttons, i suppose it's kinda of a skill, but who the f*** cares if you're good at a video game?
