1.
Whoa my bad. different one. teach me not to click on a link.
Haha yeah, there's more than one idiot out there (i don't mean you by the way!)
2. Well someone will buy it... they always do.
3. Sweet bass man. If you think it was worth it, it was worth it. That looks to be in beautiful condition and the colour and birdseye maple is really nice. Good find.
4. If anybody wants a cheap gig bag, i think tribal planet are the way to go. I got one with my musicman off the bay, it has really good padding, really good proetction at the bottom, good sized pockets, really comfortable and wide straps and the fastenings for the straps seem really solid. I'm not sure if it's waterproof or not but i'd assume so. anyway, i thought it would be a 40-50 quid job. Got on the net, 15 quid i think it said! well worth the money, and much better than the 25 quid westfield one i got! (my pound sign isn't working by the way)
5.
So they should try and be less generic? So its their fault a bunch of companies have copied the shape and they became popular? Theyre generic because you see so many... probably for a good reason
I'm not saying they should be less generic. Some people like that. They're just not my cup of tea is all.
keeping the P thump and some versatility is the J/P pickup set not a happy place? on a b-bass body for the complete package i'd imagine...
I was actually thinking that. I don't mind the p/j combo as much, but it's still the same shape, i just don't like how they look. For simplicity, i much prefer my sub bass over a USA p. But it's all down to personal taste really.
6.
billy's style is not quite everyone's bag but...his performance, craft and skill is second to no-one! he has fun when playing, lines are in the bag before the flashy stuff and what a career! andy
I agree, i don't like billy's style, but i'll admit, technically he's a good player. Plus i have to admire what he did for you there, that's really cool. It's rare for that sort of thing to happen these days.
7. Hmmm, could be interested... i might have to think about it somewhat
8.
Out of interest - What / where / how do you find a P bass limiting?
1 single coil pickup in the wrong place and it's missing a fret. I can't stand p-basses. I'll agree that they get the job done, but the pickup just isn't where i like it, 1 single coil just isn't enough, i hate the shape and the shape of the pickguard and they're just really generic. For me, a good simple bass is the musicman sub/stingray single H 2EQ. I find i more versatile, more playable, better sounding and better looking.
this: and this:
Ahhhh! now i can put a face to the name! i remember the pedulla and lightwave, amazing basses and you're right, they do sound and play as good as they look! (we met at the notts bass bash)
9. Yeah sounds like it... and that's incredibly ugly!
10. Yeah, it is a bit chunky. I love mine in red plus black PG, really classy looking i think.
11. Yeah they really are good Also i find the black ones really boring, i'd love that white one
12. Where are you based?
13.
the s/plates would have to go though - eughhh.
+1, i replaced mine ASAP when i got it. Apart from that, amazing basses.
14. These things are pretty rare on the bay and there's two at the moment! if you want one i'd suggest you buy one of them now because they're the first i've seen on ebay UK. black sub sterling, £350 white sub sterling £300 I think that white one is really pretty if i was in the market, i'd snap that one up.
15. Hmm, it sounds good as something to mod, but i'm a little disappointed at what you said about the tone I was rather hoping we'd have another squier VM series case on our hands. Also i can't find anything on the website that fits your description... maybe they discontinued it after they realised it was a bit of a dud.
16. "Postage cost is the buyers responsibility." Ah i missed that, fair enough
17. someone got a good deal on this!
18. ouch, i can't even afford the shipping on that, let alone the bass! what a twat.
19. You could get the whole cab for that price!
20.
heh, picked up the 410 today 212 is going next week!
I know the 212 is going but
21. They're not that new. I tried one a while back, they weren't THAT great but they had a fairly nice sound and were pretty versatile.
22. A local guitar shop (music inn) had one of them (the bolin) and i always wondered what it was, now i know! i didn't see it last time but i wasn't really looking. ah well.
23. It's only a small gap, no harm should come of it. Unless you're keeping it in like a shed or anything it should be fine
24. I'd say £650-£750 but really those are ebay prices. I'd expect it to be more like £800+ in a shop. Depends what condition it's in, whether you're willing to pay for the birdseye neck, whether you can haggle etc.
