Instrument Cases - Your Options
+1000 on the Gator hardcase for bass, it's crap. Thinking of skipping mine and buying a good case that actually fits any bass I own. I've heard Stagg bass cases are even worse. The hardcase that came with my Stingray is fantastic though, purpose built fitted case which is slim and light and robust.
I've got a gator, i thought it was alright but the hardware seems a little flimsy, next time maybe a warwick tolex case, i just love the look. -

As i've always said, Good BC riches are good, cheap BC riches aren't! (there happen to be exceptions to that rule, ebay being the cause of one of them )
I'd have thought more in the region of £5 - £600? the cabs alone are £300 - £350 and the heads were about £200 - what a deal and good for you! enjoy andy
Really? i thought they were more along the lines of £150ish each, either way it's still a good deal on a stack, thanks for bringing it to my attention
if im after a warm tone, do i need to add a little bass? take mid off a little?? anyone know what order the knobs are on a 3eq 'ray? looking down on it, the left is volume, I guess it goes volume bass mid treb. although not knowing which way the dials go im either turning the bass off and getting a trebble sound, turnign the treble up and getting more of a treb sound, or completly opersite lol.
Nope, if it's anything like my 2EQ sub it will be volume, treble, mid, bass looking down on it and turning the knob right or clockwise boosts that part of the EQ and left or anticlockwise cuts it. There should be detents in the middle too, that's flat. I have a 2 EQ sub and that's similar, but it's volume, treble bass and right back is flat, the EQ is more of a boost than a boost/cut i think. I've also had a go EQing my bass from flat and i just hate the flat sound... it just sounds... well... flat/boring/indistinctive. I like how it sounds with bass on full and treble on about half on the preamp and on the amp itself near enough the same with not quite full bass, a fair bit of treble and boosted mids. I like how that sounds, very flea-esque.
I quite like the fat Warwick necks, but... Have you thought about a Spector - similar style to the Warwicks, but very different necks. I'm sure I read somewhere that Warwick pinched the streamer design off of Spector, but I may have made that up.
Tried a eurostar 5 before the warwick, the neck was better but nothing special and i just didn't like the tone much. I don't really get along with EMGs @ above post.... they're not mine, i wish they were though!

That's been posted in about 3 different threads already.... and again... i like it.

A lot of basses can be metal, my musicman cuts it pretty well for thrash with the bass boosted and a fair bit of treble, sounds really nice. My tobias also sounds alright for really heavy stuff as it's just got such a deep sound to it, it also holds drop tunings really well, which the musicman doesn't as much. Really i'd say anything with humbuckers and a neck you feel comfortable playing fast on.
