1. Blimey, if i had any use for these at all, i'd be all over them like a rash at that price!
2. I saw this the other day, i think it's absolutely gorgeous!
3. Post a price or get the ad taken down, that's the rules. Feel free to read them.
4. Is that not a 2005 LE? Lovely guitar anyway, good luck with the sale
5. If you have £500 to spend, you'll be lucky to get a streamer for that, but you never know. I prefer the streamer shape myself, except the streamer std.
6. That dean is very pretty indeed. Also, if you defret the ibanez, you probably won't have much choice whether it's lined or not i think! If you fill the fret slots, you'll have a hard time finding a filler/piece of wood to exactly match the colour of the rosewood, but good luck anyway
7. I did miss your for posts, welcome back!
8. Ahh the good old basschat bike! I used to own this bass, and very nice it was too!
9. Some gorgeous wood there, nice one!
10.
This is nothing more than a rumour trust me!
Yep! As for the guy on talkbass who reckons it was on the front page on the warwick site, where the hell was he looking??! He's just confirmed pretty much every reason i don't use talkbass. Idiot.
11. To be honest, i can't see this happening, ever.
12. Nice one, you've managed to get what's practically a brand new bass for a little over what a second hand one would have cost, and it's prettier too! Good job! Also, for future reference, if you put a bit of masking tape over where you're about to drill through the laquer, it makes it less likely to chip and crack etc
13.
No. I meant having the whole neck (obviously not the fingerboard) sprayed up to mach the body - not just the front of the headstock. Of course it's a matter of taste, but I always think that basses where the neck doesn't match the body for colour look really strange. I can understand why Fender did it originally because it was a cost-saving exercise and they could mach up any neck with any body, but I'm surprised that no one who's having a bass custom made ever seems to consider it.
bringing up an old post, but i dislike the feel of a painted neck finish, gloss or satin. I prefer unfinished wood (oiled - like musicman necks)
14. I'm now busy every weekend for the next 5 weeks except one, it's up to you guys when you have the bash, but i won't be able to make one until the end of june! If i do come, i'll probably just bring one bass, whatever i happen to be rocking out on at the time
15. 6th of june... i may be away then, definitely can't make the two weekends after that either.
16.
You look like Simon Pegg !!! HOW AWSOME HA
i was waiting for that, i told him that a while back
17. That actually looks alright, i kind of like the black glossy neck finish and the set neck, not too sure about the inlays or the headstock though.
18. Mmm, lovely plywood body. Quality.
19.
I've sold my 75 Jazz so now I am thinking about getting a Streamer $$ or LX. I like the idea of an LX but its too expensive new and very unlikley I will find a second hand one in natural Ash. The other option is the Streamer $$ but again quite pricey new and again unlikley to find a second hand one in natural ash. I'm also a bit worried the $$ will make it sound too similar to my stingray considering it has the same pickups.
I sold my stingray HH in favour of my streamer $$ for two reasons, tone and playability. The $$ sounds nothing like a ray! If anything, a ray sounds very tame in comparison. The $$ just has a more aggressive sound and from what i can tell, a lot more natural mids. Plus, i just found everything about the ray uncomfortable, the neck, the size of the body etc, i just feel totally at home on my $$, like an old pair of slippers! In fact, i'll drop you a PM.
20. Lap steel guitar? Some sort of glockenspiel?
21. Loving the two westone thunders! I'd love one, some day. I keep saying this, as if they're expensive!
22.
Im guessing your a warwick fan then? I hope your not offended with the connection but these are excellent quality basses just not very well known and Im doing what I can to bring it to the attention of people looking for similar basses.I have not had that problem before although I did try and sell a Les paul copy on there and had that pulled for the word copy and you cant use "style" or "replica" either so what else can you call it?
I tend to report listings that keyword spam like that, not to be arsey, but it is irritating if you're searching for things, and other things keep popping up that aren't what you're looking for and are only there because of the keywords. If someone wants "item X" then they'll search for "item X". If something like that pops up, then i'll skip past it. Sorry, not having a go, just saying, it really bugs me. Ebay tend to pull listings like that a lot anyway, it's against the rules, and you stand to lose your listing fees by breaking them. Just a heads up.
23. Hi mate, just to let you know, the body on that Toby Pro 4 is maple, not ash, hence the tight grain pattern and the figuring. Also the necks on both basses are wenge and maple, not wenge and walnut. Very nice basses though (used to have one), great neck. Good luck with the sale.
