1. Mate, i'm not trying to be rude, bur seriously, give that guitar a bloody clean before you try and sell it.
2. Me in a wig i found in my drummer's boot just after halloween
3.
Yes I still can't belive how lucky I vas to get it for such a low price. It is definatly a keeper & where can I find replacement scratchplates for this type of bass. Now what will I find at CC when I go again.
Try strings 'n' things, the UK distributor for musicman basses, you can order an official stingray PG from there. The WD ones aren't as likely to fit correctly. I had a musicman SUB though, i can confirm that the stingray scratchplates do fit. In fact it was the same colour as yours, 5 ply black looked really good on it
4.
Probably Crack Converters had to shift that bass sharpish as it was too hot, obviously stolen with the police looking all over for it.
From what i remember, they had just never heard of fodera before and/or there was nothing on the headstock, either way they didn't know what it was, just thought it was some generic jazz clone, so they sold it for a ridiculous price.
5. Hah, this is also a good point, my money does go on beer/nights out a lot right now, though i've also invested a lot of money in my bikes, they don't hold their value as well as basses/guitars, but if i'm ever in trouble financially, i know i got a good grand or so there to fall back on, should i need to.
6. Haha, GAS free is good, leaves you with more money for other things There are a few bits i want, but nothing much really... I've never been much into pedals myself, though i think i'd like a compressor of some sort...
7.
After a couple of False starts, I AM REJOINING THE CLUB THIS WEDNESDAY!
I totally read that as "stale farts"!
8.
Yes, it was a professional keyboard player friend who bought a Fodera NYC series 5-string bass from Crack Converters for £80. They're the cheaper models in the range, but still around £2500 a pop! He's still got it. Uses it in his studio.
Git!
9.
How come the Electric blue Blew up?
It's an ashdown! (power stage fried itself, common problem) As for GAS.... I'd quite like a fretless of some description and pair of ABM 410 and 115 cabs to replace my MAG cabs That's about it really, i'm relatively GAS free right now. I'll have to take some photos of my rig soon though once my project bass is sorted, it's getting nearer to completion.
10. Wasn't there a guy on here who bought a fodera from them for £200 or something insane?
11.
wow! Where are they £20? I just bought a 201 clone elsewhere cos I couldn't find one that cheap! {edit} mine had to be gold too - so there appears to be a premium on the price for some reason.
Ok maybe not £20, but WD music have them for £28 here, still a lot less than the badass/hipshot equivalent and does the job (almost?) just as well.
12. Wouldn't we all? I my ABM is make in the UK as well, and so is my electric blue head, funnily enough the electric blue blew up
13. Fair play for selling it if you couldn't afford a cab, solid plan though, you could easily get £100 or so for the MAG head when the time comes, and you'd only need another £100-£150 for an ABM (i paid £230 for my ABM 300)
14. Whole Lotta Love from the live album How The West Was Won - fantastic stuff
15.
well let's face it at a gig no-one is going to notice the difference. I've seen the most awesome bands play with just midrange gear and it sounded great.
No valve preamp in the MAG, biiiiiig difference! (If you use it like i do.) The MAG range is still nice gear for the money though.
16. Mmm, very tasty bass, and quite tasteful too, for an alembic!
17.
Picture (Finally!)
Don't you regret getting rid of that ABM for a MAG? I wouldn't be without my ABM now, they're SO much better than the MAG and electric blue stuff, in my view.
18. Get a gotoh 201, they're about £20 or so and worth their weight in gold. EDIT: if it will fit, that is.
19.
Here's me:
Funny looking bass you have there, whats all them there buttons do?
20. Love that cutlass and the aria!!
21.
+1 Yup, interested to hear your opinions too. I'm looking to move up from my LittleMark250 to something with more wattage, but it needs to sound good, or at least be very transparent, and be cheap. Currently thinking about a Terror Bass, or perhaps a MB F1 if I can get one cheap enough, but hadn't considered the Little Giant... Cheers, Eude
I don't think a bass terror will produce the desired effects there... they're very valvey from what i've heard, quite warm, not at all transparent! Ashdown amps don't tend to be as transparent as markbass gear either, luckily i love the sounds my ashdown makes, so it's all good.
22. Awww, so cute On a serious note - How is that little giant?
23. you can't go wrong with a squier VMJ, definitely!
