1. true, a pub is generally a good place for a bash, a few people usually bring rigs anyway
2. The $$ neck is nothing like a jazz! Relatively thin at the nut, but quite a large profile, a bit clubby as people tend to say, personally i love it
Oi stop it Oh and while you are being quiet, can you change your avatar, its killing me One last thing, I found out today that for an extra £91, I can get a Streamer $$ with an Ovangkol neck rather than the maple neck
Haha, got GAS? The maple neck is lovely by the way, doesn't really feel/sound much different but looks great! Mine has a particularly nice flame.
3. ooh that IS a good idea! not seen how big the rooms at magnet are though, they have some amazing backline though!
4. They're rather pretty
5. damn, i definitely couldn't tempt you to trade this for my streamer then??!! It's stunning! (p.s - i hope the "some guy" comment was a joke )
6. Oh god! I had a stingray HH in this colour and it truly does look AMAZING, photos do this finish no justice at all! Fantastic price too, should be snapped up!
7. i think i paid it all in one go once i'd collected the money and i'd say no more than a fiver at the very most
8. EBMM forum member by any chance? i recognise your av, love the quilt top axis SS by the way
9. I've had two $$'s, one stingray HH and one musicman SUB single H, quite simply, i prefer the sound of the warwick, there's not really another way of saying it, either you like it or you don't. It's like a stingray but more aggress, but more versatile if you want it to be. It has more midrange too, i thought. Plus, i preferred the neck profile and the smaller body, more comfortable to me. Two very different basses though, i would advocate trying them both before coming to any conclusion.
10. definitely, or at least the $$ is, plays superbly, sounds amazing and very versatile, especially worth it if you buy used, they can easily be had for £150 less than your average used 'ray
11.
I've got a 3EQ Ray and its awesome, cant say enough good things about it, the only issue is the common ray issue with low volume on the G string. Thats easily fixed with a Nordstrand replacement pup though.
fixed
12. warwick corvette $$, can't go wrong
13. Yeah was a good day, cheers to the guys that organised it, met some cool people and played some cool basses, and have now decided i want a fretless, thanks to the fretless steinberger i played! (can't remember who's that was)
14.
I wasn't asking him to do it again (he did do a good job though)- 'any hints?' meant 'any advice on how to deal with the grosvenor, price the door etc'. I don't have lots of freetime (small baby, job with long hours etc look at my posting times), but all the current bashes appear to be miles away london, scotland etc And I thought it was time we had our own. If I did it it would be pretty spit and sawdust - I can make a few calls but that's about it.
Oh ok sorry, the grosvenor was £50 i think last time, worked out about £3 on the door covered it, also food is a bit dodgy as they won't let you bring your own and if you want it catering buffet style, they want an exact headcount and i think about £5 per head, so i didn't bother
15. now that's cool!!
16. I played one of these at the yorkshire bash today, it belonged to retroman, and it played and sounded surprisingly good!! Just thought i'd throw that in there
17. i'll try and remember them tomorrow morning for you
18.
Budget bassist organised the last one - any hints ?
Thought I'd let someone else do it this time
19.
Ok, is anyone planning on taking a set of allen keys with them? Ive got two sets burried somewhere in the house, and I probably wont find them till I move house again.
i can do if you'd like
20. Yeah, i'd come
21. i don't suppose anybody wants to have a blast on my ashdown ABM head?
22.
Shame, because of what I did to it:
oops Mine has to be my musicman SUB bass project which has been mutilated beyond belief and is currently still in bits... i should really get around to finishing it
23.
Bugger, that never worked What about if I give you Pompy football club, Jedwoods entire back catalogue and a signed picture of Posh Spice. Surely that has to do it
I'll trade you a Natalie Imbruglia for it, if you ever manage to get your hands on one
24.
Sell me your Streamer, you really don't want it anymore :)
Not a chance!
25. I think £350 is about right, i sold mine for about that much about 6 months or so ago, and that's what i paid for it as well. Lovely basses, sounds exactly like a stingray to my ear, and for half the price.
