That's real a shame, especially for someone that young. My condolences to his family and friends.

A COUPLE OF MY BASS@S ON EBAY
budget bassist replied to teaser360's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
its has the curved body ,but its a different bass than in your pic , mine has pickguard and control plate which i think is a older model , pm if still interested
Not necessarily older i don't think, but IIRC, the one you have was intended only for the japanese market, they're not allowed to be exported from japan anymore so you can really only get them off ebay. Apart from the control knobs, plate and pickguard though, it's essentially the same bass. -
liking how i can see my picture on your monitor
+1....Ive played some nice Warwicks, but the price is daft. Im going to get a right caining for this, but I wanted to like the Warwick style, and I recently tried a few out. I just CANNOT get over the bodyshapes. Im too predictable, and im very vain...as in if its not a vintage style instrument I instantly think im in an awful tacky metal band. Thats not slating metal either, as I like a lot of metal, just not the whole 'pointy small guitar/bass' image that goes with it. Whats wrong with playing a cool retro sonic blue Jazz in a metal band? Nothing. LOL. I like that Rob from Metallica picked up a Ray 5 on his auditions.
I agree, there's nothing wrong with it at all, trujillo often plays a precision live, newsted used to play sadowskys quite regularly, the bassist from stone sour uses a precision. Good on them, my warwick has just always given me the sound i've always wanted for every type of music. It's not the versatility, it's just that once i find a sound i like, i stick to it whatever type of music, i don't try and copy other sounds. On the other hand, i just can't stand large bodied basses, they're too big and ungainly for me, i'm not a small guy (i'm pretty tall/well built), i just prefer smaller basses, and i look silly with a large bass, they just don't suit me, so for me a warwick is perfect. I think if i came accross a large sum of money, the first bass i would buy, would be a custom shop neck thru streamer $$ or a corvette FNA jazzman.

tell me about it, i used to have a fender reggie hamilton jazz, the neck on that was amazing. I just don't get on with the jazz sound, give me one with a slightly smaller body, dual mm style humbuckers and a 2 band pre and i'll be happy now there's an idea....
Hi, Here is my home studio setup. I have a 3.2gHz 8-core Intel mac with 4gb of ram running snow leopard. Software includes Protools 8, Logic Pro 8, Max 5, Guitar rig 3, Arturia vintage collection, Melodyne studio 3. Hardware; KRK RP8 G2 active monitors, M-Audio pro fire 2626, Focusrite liquid Mix, and CME UF5 midi controller. SE electronics Reflexion filter. My room i work in is quite good and i have been able to achieve some good transferable mixes.
oh my god, i'm jealous, SWEET mac, and those monitors are very nice too, we have the big brothers of the rokit monitors at college and they sound amazing! the rokit 5 was my first choice, but i couldn't afford them.

here's mine, complete with underpowered PC (really needs upgrading) running reason 4, guitar rig 3 LE and cubase SX3, alesis m1 520 powered monitors, a soundcraft spirit notepad mixer connected to an m-audio audiphile delta 2496 soundcard (soon to be replaced by my lexicon lambda interface/soundcard arriving tomorrow), 25 key evolution keyboard and 22" LG monitor. I also have an SM58 mic, but it's currently broken, so i'm recording everything DI for the time being, i want to get a larger desk though, some wall brackets for the monitors, an sm57, a couple of nice condensers and a nice valve guitar amp and i should be sorted.
Those are the ones. Carolina body, twin MEC pups. They were about £IRL 900 back in '99. Thought they were only available as rockbass now because I've seen them for sale at £300ish. Great bass I have to say.
yeah, you can't buy german made streamer stds now, they're only available under the rockbass name, and they have a maple neck and i think alder(?) body, but they do have the mec pickups though.
That's what the Rockbasses are for! It puzzled me too, then made me glad i bought my Corvette years ago for under £600 Anyone know the prices of the new Rockbass line? The Rockbass Corvette Premium is coming in at £525 so hopefully the Basic model will be around £400. The new 2010 model looks really good, from the front it looks just like a German 'Vette
yeah, i'll be interested in a 5 string RB corvette when they come over here.
Opinion has it that, for optimal technical delivery, one should hang the bass to match the position it occupies when you're sitting practising. Problem with low slinging - back issues for the elderly apart - is the fretting hand wrist angle; too narrow and - whoops! - here comes the ol' carpal tunnel syndrome. Given that Gibson have come up with robot tuners, I'm sure the same principle could be applied to strap buttons. Flick a switch and - Hey Presto! - the bass whirrs downwards eighteen inches and assumes the 'cool' position. Cue audience sensation, beautiful women fainting, etc.
you say that, but playing sitting down quite often hurts my right wrist/arm because of the way it bends, and it's especially uncomfortable for me to play at that height standing up. I wear mine around my crotch area, not too high, not too low. Sorted.
