9.
This is quite a bad move I think by Warwick. A lot of people buy the superb entry level Corvette Standard as its a nice price, is made in Germany and has all the features and hardware of the more expensive Warwicks. Customers know they are getting a proper German made Warwick. Now they are made in Korea, I think Warwick are shooting themselves in the foot by taking away one of the biggest appeals to this bass, not having it made in Germany. It probably makes very little difference in terms of quality at the end of the day but the whole point for people getting their first Warwick is they know its come from that famous German workshop. Really glad I ordered my Warwick Covette Standard at the end of the year making it a German model. I have waited 21 years for this bass and if it was going to be made in Korea then I would not had bothered.
i think as prices went up, it was getting to the point where they were getting a little too expensive for what they were (though no more than a USA standard jazz, and i know what i'd have), and they moved production so as to keep prices down so they're not as off putting.
10. yeah in my old band we went from D standard to drop C quite regularly and it got quite easy for me to do it by ear once i figured out how much i needed to turn the peg.
11.
Those weren't Rockbass basses man, they were genuine German made ovangkol necked Warwicks, and very nice as well
what he said, they were german made.
12. I quite like them all, not too sure about the maple board and block markers on the ltd corvette though, would look better with blank ebony IMO. The rest look pretty cool, apart from that adam clayton bass. Oh and did you guys know the corvette standards are now part of the "pro series" made in korea? Yep, no more german made corvette standards.
13. with the foam mutes? around '93. the chrome battery cover went around '95 i think.
14. it was pretty much standard
15. ahhh that's cool, i rather want one now! tolex covered too.... damn... GAS alert! shame the ABM cabs don't have the blue drivers anymore though, they looked really cool. just checked out the ashdown site, all that new gear is getting me excited
16. wow! i had to double take then! i thought it was an ampeg cab!! sweet!
17. Sounds cool, i have a bassliens mm pickup in my bitsa musicman and it's very nice. Have you ever tried a warwick corvette or streamer $$? that may be the sound you're going for, it's like a musicman but much hotter and aggressive! i'd highly reccomment the MEC MM pickups and 2 band preamp with coil tap.
18.
Pffft, lightweights for girls and people who care about their spine Check out mine. Zach
lol, dude, you've not seen mine! my cabs alone weigh about 30kgs each. And i recognise that Randall
19.
Achh, There she goes again. Did you get the Bubinga $$? The GroovyPlucker
nah mate, that sold a while ago, got my eye on something though
20. hi mate you have to post a price in the thread - forum rules some pics in the thread wouldn't go amiss either. good luck with the sale
21. when did you last see a musicman that looked like a tele?
22. that should be alright, i'll give you a shout if/when i know i can have it (saturdayish). Right now i'm running a not-so-legal version of sx3, so anything legal would be a nice change!
