2.
Er, Dan O'Bannon was a producer on ALIEN wasn't he? Don't you mean Tom Jenkins? Or is there a very clever joke in there that I've missed?
yeah that kinda confused me too?
 3.
you are right, nobody did say you can't haggle and make offers. You just have to state a price you want. People will soon flame you if you have priced it wrong
i dunno, i try to be fairly considerate and PM a member if a price seems a little wrong, even if CERTAIN members don't appreciate my discretion and still accuse me of trying to sabotage their sale... sorry, got a bit of a chip on my shoulder there.
 4.
Yes I do agree but if it's within the rules I won't complain about it. I think *feelers* invite offers and that's pretty close to an auction isn't it?
i always posted a price with a feeler, even before the rule. Inevitably it ended in a sale every time, but it just took me a few days to make my mind up properly.
 5.
I agree. Now the offers thing has been banned, we may see less of this happening though. ( I hope!)
nobody said you can't haggle and make offers, but people putting up a piece of gear with no price is just silly, a lot of people may genuinely not know what it's worth. Unless I have a very good idea of what an item is worth, i'll completely disregard a thread if there isn't a price included. But i digress.
 6. here we go again...
 7.
Don't worry I can't afford it.
i wish i could give you 6.5k, i'd love to see the faces of some of the members on here if you did that!
 8.
Rivera have a reputation up there with Mesa Boogie in the guitar world... can't see why a guitarist would need a power amp that big though!
really? we have a couple of rivera guitar valve combos at college, they're alright. I kinda like them but none of the tutors do.
 9.
I want to be you Nig but I'm far too hot
i agree

 15.
Re undisclosed reserves - it's something I completely fail to understand the point of. If I was unsure that an item would reach its market value with a low starting bid (99p, in my case) then I'd either start the auction at the lowest amount I'd be prepared to accept, or do a BIN with offers. I think secret reserve prices simply put people off - personally if a seller refuses to tell me the reserve, then I simply move on. As a buyer, the basic rule of Ebay is that another one will be along sooner or later, and be cheaper & better than the one you missed.
Yep, i rarely bid on an item if it has a reserve. I don't see why people can't just start it at that price, as as for putting people off by putting the reserve price, if they're not prepared to meet the reserve price if they know it, they're not going to meet it if they don't know it either, it puts me off bidding not knowing it because a lot of the time it's set stupidly high.
 16. I read the title as "hover bass", but that's cool too!
 17. you know you could have just bumped the original post??....
 18. I have some strings to go for free, first person to PM me with a couple of quid for postage gets them You can have both sets or just one, i don't mind. First set has red windings at the end, they may be GHS, they may be rotos, i don't know as they came on my stingray, but they're dead as a dodo. Second set are Ernie Balls (what i think are regular slinkies, i can't remember) but for some reason are missing the E string, don't ask me why. These have gone now
 19. my present, it seems to have two extra strings though, hmm...
 20. christmas present, got it for £75 off ebay because it's a little roughed up but overall not too bad, the jack needs looking at though

 23.
Pink Rickenfaker for the WIN!!!!!!!
yeah i actually quite like that one!
 24.
That's a fair point also, although I suspect the Modulus basses he played on stage and the Modulus bass he promoted were relatively similar instruments in comparison to the likely considerable difference in spec between the basses he's currently using on stage and those on the shelves in Selfridges?
That's a point actually, is he actually using those flea basses on stage or a funk unlimited or a stingray or what?
