1. you guys aren't helping with my GAS!
2. glad to hear that it's finally how you wanted it to be looks like a nice bass, enjoy her!
3.
i'm 17, i'll be there. sam (budgetbassist) is only 18 or 19, too. i expect there'll be other people our age there, too.
i'll be 19 then, but the more the merrier, don't mind 16 year olds! i was 17 at the first notts bash
4.
I'll probably bring my Shuker - it went to the nottingham bash earlier this year, but its new to Yorkshire!
mmm tasty bass, if that bass was a woman, it'd be tyra banks
5. oops forgot this 1. Born 2B Mild 2. yorks5stringer 3. Al Heeley 4. Wonderhorse 5. simon1964 6. Tait 7. Mikey R 8. budget bassist
6. just thought i'd say, the slight volume drop when using the parallel/series switch is pretty normal i would think, i've not tried a SR5 in a while but you encounter that on another bass with series/parallel switching. lovely bass though
7. simon has very kindly offered me a lift, so i'll try and make it, though given that it's quite a while away yet, i can't really say for sure, if so i'll bring my stingray (if i still have it!), but i won't bother with my amp.
8. hmm, well i play a stingray, which has a reasonably higher output than anything passive i guess
9. if you crank the gain, is there much of an overdrive tone going on and how does it sound? this is one of my favourite features about my ashdown ABM but this bass terror is sounding seriously good as my ABM is 12KG versus the bass terror's 4KG!!!! and is lacking in power a little. Though it does have a more versatile EQ...
10. cheers jay! love this song (pun not intended), the bassline is great, i might learn that tomorrow....
11.
One from a halloween gig in the local.
nice legs
12. fair enough, i'll go check that out!
13. that's beautiful! i wish i could have it! have a bump on me mate
14. i'm rather interested in these, as a big fan of the tiny terror, i'd love to know how the bass terror sounds! Any more specific feedback Moos3h?
15.
Seeing as I've been away for so long.. so here's updated ones of me... in particularly stupid poses as per..
IIRC, most of the pictures i've seen of you were taken in the pub
16.
Er, I think I put £160, and Notts? I would meet you say Buxton, with no extra charge. No hurry, coz the one I was after has gone anyway. These can actually be had new for £279, plus extortionate delivery, from Thomann. Thanks for looking and lusting and good luck, Karl.
i meant including postage, and thanks for the offer, i really can't afford it! cool bass though, good luck with the sale
17. cool tobias, any more photos of that?
18. i was in a band with a guitarist i (and the rest of us) liked, and then all slowly grew to dislike him, we split fairly recently due to a number of reasons, that being one of them.
19. yeah, same guy posted that on the EBMM forums a week or so ago, looks nice. Someone else has the fiesta red one too, the pics really don't do that one justice though
20. aaargh, if i had £180 for this!!!
21. you sound like you need the amp more than the bass, so go for the markbass (though if it was me, i'd much rather have an ABM over a markbass), and get your ricky set up. If i was in your situation personally, i'd probably go nuts and get both the basses set up, buy new strings, get some decent cabling if you dont already and get some nice effects
22. check out the EBMM/musicman site, visit the FAQ, tells you the specs for the factory setup inc pickup height. Though it is fairly straightforward, high enough that you have some good gain but not so high that the magnets affect the strings and so that you have an even response accross all the strings, ie suck it and see EDIT: here it is
23. i have some spare strings, not d'addarios though i'm afraid, let me know if you want them though
24. yeah he used sadowsky or fodera or some USA jazz copy quite a bit live, pick obviously and a sansamp would be a good idea, and a morley wah if you're after those bass solo sounds. I think he may have used a big muff too, or that may have been cliff
25. yeah that's not playing wear, and if he's sanded the front, it does beg a few questions such as: "why?" "why not do the back too?" and "why not at least do a decent job of sanding the front?"
