1. i see cubase.... ewww
2. nice, that geddy looks really good with a black pickguard, i'd love one like that some day. Cool collection
3. i've never seen a fender neck with figuring like that before, they're usually far to cheap to actually use decent woods in their insruments from what i can gather, looks like a copy neck with fender tuners and a mahog body... (why mahog? looks nasty)
4. it seems they now actually have a stock checker on the website, which is great as they have a reputation for not having something in stock but not telling you about it and it taking 3 months to come, as per my experience with them, twice. Never ordered from them again as far as i can remember. I don't buy brand new gear much anyway, but if i was to i woudl buy in an actual shop.
5.
We had one at a London venue back in the mid 90s who our drummer confused in soundcheck by speaking backwards into the mic and then shouting over to say she must have plugged it in backwards. Bless her, she checked!
that's brilliant!
6.
I've had crap both, can't say there is any correlation between gender and sound engineer goodness.
same, there are some girls on my music tech course that are alright, some that are absolutely useless. None that struck me as particularly outstanding though.
7. some nice photos there unfortunately i have no 'cheap' basses to take photos of
8. nice! i've been GASing for a thunder II or III for ages!
9. lovely! one of my favourite colour combinations and looks really nice now. The neck looks in good condition consdering. Although i don't think you can get rid of the grubbiness without sanding it down.
10.
he's already said, it was refinished around the original wear and tear, brilliantly
oh right ok i kind of skim read. In that case, it's a rather cool refin EDIT: wait, if it had been stripped, how do you know where the wear was? sorry if i'm being dense! it is a cool bass though
11. if i'm allowed to ask, has it been relic'd or is that "a couple of years" of wear? i'm just curious
12. wow, that's in great condition for a 13 year old bass! nice grain and some lovely colours in that burst
13. good man, don't sell that beasty!!!
14. sweet, never heard of the fusion before, is it all valve?
15.
Once I've recharged the batteries on my camera, I'll upload pics of my black '83 Cutlass I too...
ooh yes please!
16. just completed a long distance (postage) trade, his musicman for my warwick, he's a great guy to deal with, told me what was happening every step of the way and we both ended up with some shiny not so new basses Good for a chat too. I wouldn't hesitate to deal with him again, thanks mark!
17. great price for a lovely bass
18. sweet! how come you got rie of the HH? i really want a 20th SR5 too... so pretty!
19. i can't afford to try lots of different strings, but i like what i've had from ernie ball. I would like to try d'addario or GHS though.
20. i don't like rotos, they go far too dead far too fast IMHO
21.
I don't normally take any notice of StingRays, but that is a particularly nice finish!! Good luck with the sale! Si
that's alright then, because that's a sterling!
22.
The good news is that the Status basses take either single or double ball end strings...
hmm, i may try one some day then. I do REALLY like the look of the black beauty kingbass, yum!
23. it just doesn't have the same ring to it does it? shockingly enough, i've never tried a status, though i would like to. I guess the body shape just does't really appeal to me. Neither does the concept of more expensive double ball strings, i can't afford regular strings as it is
24.
I love your new bass Sam, btw! I looked at that one when the previous owner first put it up for sale, but it was way over budget for me at the time, so I ended up getting my piezo Ray instead. Are you pleased with the sounds available from the HH setup? Rich.
thanks! yeah i'm loving it so far, there's a lot there tonally, and the mid band is really cool, i've never had that on a bass before and it's nice to have it there. It needs some new strings though before i can really say what i think, it's sounding a little dull right now. I'm still mulling over a sterling or bongo though, the bongo mainly because i like to boost the hell out of the treble sometimes and it has that extra headroom, and the sterling because i'm a girl and prefer a smaller bass Possibly a 5er too.... there's so much to choose!
25. that would be it!
