1. chaps but it looks like its now sold to Dan. Just waiting for the payment.
 2.
great eubs - I can really recommend
they are, TBH i think they sound as good as the real thing. Compared to the price of some of them out there this is a great bit of kit. If you wanna get into them you wont go wrong with this. What i like about this is the action, its quite like a DB. When i played my mate DB it was the same, so no worries going from this to a DB if need be.
 3. £250 and £15 courier. exellent condtion and great sound! very nice bass, great for jazz n blues. Very nice, no marks at all, and plush lined gig bag and the two body braces that come with it. just not getting used really. call me on 07757875566 for more info or to buy. Bank transfer or cheque or collection. Very nice sounding bass that sounds like an upright. Good action and nice fingerboard. Its a darker red in the flesh, flash makes it look brighter.
 4. sir duke (new for us) s.minds (new for us) young hearts / higher and higher with bass solo hope you enjoy.
 5.
Really kind of you, thank you.
no t problem, will be tomorrow i guess, keep looking mate :-)
 6.
Greyparrot- apologies; I hadn't seen your post with the vid clip of Elvis' guitarist. That'll teach me to post before my 4th coffee and 10th B & H..!! What a great vid: exemplifies the kind of music I took up bass to learn to play. Really lovely offer and thank you, but I fear you may be just a little too advanced for me. I only started playing this Summer. I know the major scales and chords, understand the root/5th thing (and the odd 3rd) and I can play my way through just about anything I've got the chord charts for in this simple, non-connected way, but I've only just discovered the diatonic chords and I'm only as far as connecting I-IV-V in 'C' with a lot of concentration and very, very slowly!! It's joining the chords up- 'Walking', I guess you call it, that I'm trying to master now. Nothing fast or flashy: really just slow stuff like 'He'll Have To Go' and 'Help Me Make It Through The Night', where you've got the 3 tones that either go up or down at the end of the lines (that is a musical term, right...?? ). Thanks Marvin- I'll check those out. I find stopping and starting songs in iTunes a real nightmare!
hey no worries, well im going to do a slow walking bass line / blues one for her too, maybe later today, and also a little octave song aimed at starters, so ill post them any way on this tread ;-) you sound like your doing well and playing the right stuff. You can play to faster stuff rnr using the 1-5. and joining root-4 n root to 5 with some notes from the major scale you are in. say your playin in c, then use d/e from the major scale to link to the chord change from c-f. ill do this vid later, you will see what i mean. but yeah, do it slow, speed will come. ;-)
 7.
What's not to like? JB is one of the all-time greats. Seen this?
thats just great! did Chet not play the guitar part on elvis's guitar man track? was playing that the other day on the upright bass. Real nice and that a root 5 but theres a real nice bit where the bass goes in unison with the guitar. I tell u there are some real great things in rock n roll and country playing.
 8.
Marvin: not sure what you mean by MM's Bootcamp- did you mean to post a link? Thanks Pete; I've checked it out and there's some really helpful stuff there. Not sure what Tux & Guitar Pro are (PC software, I presume), but great material. Apologies Greyparrot for thread-jacking!
not at all,, like i said if you want me to do another vid, maybe without music, just some walking bass lines, let me know. ;-)
 9.
What kind of strings are those? The E looks different to the others.
well spotted! they are a rotosound set made up but far too light for me. They do sound nice and growly though, and been on there about 2 months and played everryday. Thought id try light strings, but i don't like them, need something like 45-105's they are 40-95. Next set will be DR low riders.
 10.
What people? Not Musicians, well not Violin players or Viola players, Cellists, Trumpet players, Trombonists, French Horn players, Tuba's, Alto, Tenor, Soprano Saxophones, Bassoon, Oboe, Cor Anglais, English horn, Wagner Horn players. I presume you mean Saturday afternoon in the shop Guitar players [owners]. But i get your drift. Garry
Hi peeps. glad you are enjoying that vid and its helping! to the chap that would like to learn this sort of playing, let me know if i can make a vid for you that may help you move forward in some way? maybe make it more rock n roll rather than jazzy? to the op heres the track i used from you tube. IM a bit fan of TCB band and this is James Burton from it. Man i would have loved to have been at this gig. and glad your likeing this :-)
 11. haha Warwickhunt i just watched that back! i can see exactly what u mean as i know how it should be! hehe
 12.
I'm certainlly more impressed with that than a load of machine gun slap playing!
that sort of thing is real bass playing for what a bass is for, how rubbish would it be to funk slap a bassline like that, but many funk slap bass lines can be replaced by finger bass lines. while of course slap is bass guitar, and i love it too, and i use it often, it is not really what bass is about bout another dynamic to an amazing instrument . Thanks mate. :-)
 13.
gotcha
hi chapsssssssss i know where you mean on the 1-5 thing yeah? you are quite right and i did used to do that still can, and do sometimes, and u are right to pick me out on it, like driving a car you learn the right way then pick up shortcuts, but i will put that right to her about the one finger fret thing. Also to the chap above above! very true, that what i wanted to demonstrate to her how from changing rythams and notes you can change the whole feel of a song. Bass is awesome, a very powerful instument in music. Like a good person, they are not missed till its gone. :-)
 14.
The audience seem suitably impressed.
yeah they gone home now. I can see them at the bus stop
 15. its a great exercise as it goes, trying to use just the few notes unser the fingers as much as poss, really keeps the brain active :-O i guess its ok posting here as the mods dont move them, and they do move stuff on here. anyway hope its useful, interesting, if not oh well!
 16.
Superb! I really enjoyed that, thanks for posting it
OH YOUR WELCOME CHAPS. if you ever get the chance, go see the tcb band, i saw them at the o2 last year fantastic. ;-)
 17.
Without a B string, isn't it just an "Ongo"? I'll get my coat...
haha very cleaver (for this time of year!) HNY to you n all.
 18.
Here you go Herman, (A little bit less love for the Rays this time but still one in most posts) The argument about toilet seats is next ! Then its your turn to buy something totally different like a Fiddle bass or a Gibson Explorer
Toilet seats! how dare you! hehe it has no hole, how can it be a bog seat! bog seat or not its a stingray on steriods! ;-)
 19. dependng on ur budget the best bass i have had for slap is what i have now, the bongo, on this forum there is a vid of me slappin to peg, and u can here it there. But nowdays many basses much cheaper offer a great slap tone. For me dont have your mid up to high on the amp, have a scooped slope for a nice responce. A compressor is good but tis not something i use but i do have. If you need a link to peg let me know.
 20.
Nicely swung, that man. Brave choice too... 'Further On Up The Road' has a high "trainwreck" factor owing to nobody quite knowing where the stops are. It's one I tend to shy away from tbh - especially when perpetrated by one particular local guitard (who really does deserve being called such). Probably too much of a slog for you, but this might be of interest: http://www.coachandhorsesbluesjam.com/home.shtml Pete.
Cheers Pete, looks good, but a bit far. One thing we have no shortage of is around here is jams! they are all over the shop every day of the week! I never even heard of that song to be honest! Thats what jams r about just fun really. Most of the time the singer gets up right we are doing this in such n such heres the feel ere we go! abd hats it! great fun! We do get some great funky instrumentals going as well around the 12 bar change but with a funky feel, and of course the old rock songs, but there is a guy that comes up Doug, singer guitar real class old skool player and he does robert cray/doobie bro, great stuff, me him and that drummer may put a littl funky 3 piece together, get out n do a few gigs around our other work ;-)
 21. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nue8Ju0SVtU great night had ;-) i borrowed a mates lakeland, v nice.
 22. that blue 5 string would be my dream bass i want that bass, its stunning, thats what i miss in this bongo, the b string.
 23.
versatility.. Ive always thought of the bass as the drums, with the added capacity for direction of harmony thats played, depending on the color of the harmony being played.. as Yoda would would say.. many variables may they become..
hehe ace. Just came back from a jam, had a great time. So many great players down at the Mill beach pub in heybridge on a thursday jam. Yes i know what you mean mate. I think of the bass as the cement between the rhytham and melody. :-)
 24.
I wish you'd stop posting these anywhere..it's giving me Bongolust. Nice playing on all you vids and a tone to die for.
haha Bongo lust! nice. They are fantastic basses mate. Thank you Steely Dan :-)
