Iv been posting vids on here of quite technical bass lines, my last one was Steely dans Peg that i slapped all the way through, i thought its xmas and im on me own, been drinking, and an east ender (hackney) thought ill do something funny....NOT boloody hard bass line! great fun though. Anither good one is sir duke, i do love playing that bass line, fantastic bass runs in it.

i guess if i had more patience id sit there and do it till its 100% right, but im wondoring just how mechanical that could sound? i did a take before this one dry, and it sounded like a bloody click track. I had it on the cans and it was sending me to sleep! just to robotic. ! hehe

I tried it with a dry sound but it sort of sat up too much in the mix. I think M.K must have had a chours and a flanger and compression and a touch of reverb to get that effect. I used my flanger up fairly high to give it that kind of sound. As you say very very hard bass line to nail, and keeping the timing like clockwork is pretty hard with all the right hand tech needed to get those notes out. :-) Im pleased.

Mate get a bongo, there is nothing quite like it for sound. Have a look at my you tube bassmanrich44 for the sound of it. Has more growl more bass more top than any bass i have ever had in the past.
