Went up to Denmark St last week and played the most wonderful 55CS P Bass, in Mary Kaye White. The Bass was ultra light and the Neck very beefy. Only trouble was that they wanted silly money for it!
out of interest, how much? Yesterday Yesterday, i picked up the 70' custom shop jazz on here. I have to say this is amazing, and a steal at £1000. Its all brand new even the case. The sound is something else. The custom shop stuff is a different bass alltogether from the normal stuff. I called fender shorty afetr i got it and gave them the serial number, and they confirmed what it was, so it may be a good idea for any boday interested on this to do that for there own peice of mind. I asked what the retail was and they said £3500! but knock off £700 for the shop. As mine is 100 run, he said it will always hold value as all the cs stuff. He also said custom shop basses are biult by hand by one guitar maker, and all hand wiered, and the woods are handpicked for tones etc. After my one, and you all know i have had some amazing basses, including this warwck, there is a certain thing that feels special about FCS. Good luck with the sale, and i will say that these basses have to be seen and played in the flesh cos in photos they look just like any other fender. Close up, its apparent that the woods and the neck are of the highest quality as is the feel and sound.

Amazing bass, fantastic slap sound, cool finger style and very fast fret board. New CS JAzz forces Retails about £1250. this bass is virtually brand new and is an 09 model. With all the case bits and the gig bag. This bass has a much thinner neck profile than the older warwicks. Cash collection prefered. Not in a hurry to sell this baby ans will start to gig it till it goes, may even keep it! Just need to recoup some cash back after buying the CS Fender. call 07957300029 for more information about this bass. From warwick website. Corvette $$ SE Zebrano II This special edition Corvette $$ differs from the "Zebrano"-model by utilizing a different body construction. For the Special Editon Corvette $$ Zebrano II, a 1" thick top of attractively grained Zebrano-wood is combined with a Swamp Ash back. The Ovangkol neck has a Wenge fingerboard with 24 frets. The matched headstock continues the Zebrano look of the body. Black hardware emphasizes the nobility of this instrument. Two passive MEC MM-style pickups produce a punchy, distinctive and powerful tone (aided by the sturdy construction of the neck and body joint). A "Warwick Custom Shop"-inlay is embedded into the back of the headstock. Each Corvette $$ Zebrano II will be shipped with a certificate of originality, pointing out the uniqueness of this limited edition. The bass comes with full kit and a replacement set of strings (in the folder) also a certificate stating this is special. The wood is stunning and the photos dont really do it justice. It is about 9ils in weight, with great balance. You can get many powerful tones out of this bass. Also comes with strap locks. The neck profile is alot like a jazz now, and the feel of the neck is smooth and solid. I guess the proof is in the sound and the playing so feel free to come over to try this baby, you wont be dissapointed. Thanks for looking, Rich. UP FOR TRADES LOOKING FOR AN AS NEW LAKELAND JAZZ 4 PREF 5 STRING FENDER JAZZ 4-5 USA SEI 4-5 STATUS 4-5 SANDBERG JAZZ 4-5 STRING. CASH £900 OR ANYTHING YOU MAY HAVE TO OFFER WILL HAVE A LOOK!
A bit 'different' to some of your recent basses!
When i was starting out i got my first bass in 83, a squire p bass from rhodes in denmark street, anyway, always regreted selling it, and this one came up, 2 years newer but cool! I love the older fenders, and they always hold value. I have to say for sound, the warwick i now have is stunning, and the new neck profile is ace, but i do love the older fenders. Most of the stuff i play (chic etc) it suits perfect. Looking forward to getting it.
Up for sale again as I need to fund another project: This bass has the appropriate amount of wear as it's aged at 1975/6 based on the serial number, machines heads and logo. The bass is exceptional quality and superb to play, no buzzes and the action is medium. Red Sunburst which is superb: Made in Japan and as such renowned high quality with a very lightweight body. Rosewood fingerboard and maple neck, nice and straight with 'just the right amount of relief' giving a superb medium action. Punchy sound from the pups and authentic Precision growl. Completely original condition and well looked after (lemon oiled board and kept in a Ritter Gig Bag) example with fresh Ernie Ball slinky strings. Locally set up by respected Guitar and Bass specialist: I would be happy to accept offers of around £290 and would recommend collection although local delivery is an option or courier and the buyers expense. Some PICS: Pm me for usual and more details etc...
As on your other post if 85-6 will take it.
Why can't all you posters keep your comments on price to PMs? It really irks me when someone comes along and starts pissing all over the sellers parade, or thread in this case...especially when they post links to basses that aren't the same as the one being sold. Have a bumpo on me.
You know, i had the same problem with a poster on here regarding my Spector (that is now sold) quoting prices for basses he knows nothing about, and hampering my sale! Well it sold (cash and P/x) and then i sold that bass on quick to get the one i wanted and some cash. People should be able to advertise without everyone jumping down on the price, cos most of those people dont have an interest in the bass, cos if they did they would pm and look for neg. Basically anyone who wishes to put a downer on another persons sale, should pm their thoughts, and let the seller decide. It may well be that the bass just wont sell, but if the seller wished to reduce that is his choice.
Up for sale here is my Musicman Bongo 4 String with dual humbuckers. The usual Bongo configuration of 4 Band eq, Vol, Blend, Low mid/High Mid and Bass/Treble with a nice low action making it really easy to play. Its in really good condition with only the usual headstock chips that are common on Bongo's and these are shown in the pictures. Got this in a trade deal with, I believe now former forum member, mike_h with my DJ4 going the other way. The pics here are from his original for sale ad but will be updated with my own tomorrow when the light improves! The bass is in exactly the same condition as when it left Mike as I just never got on with it although it sounds absolutely massive! Im looking for £700 for this bass or would accept trades/part exchanges. With regards to trades I am keen to try my hand at 5 strings but will also look at other offers so PM away! Cheers, Jon
These sound amazing, tried one and nearly bought one at Bass merchant, alot dearer than this though! Good luck with the sale mate.

VERY SPECIAL SPECTOR NS5 XL WATERCURED REDWOOD
greyparrot replied to greyparrot's topic in Basses For Sale
From Harmony central. Stuart Spector Designs Ltd is offering a very special limited edition of handmade Spector basses. These basses are handcrafted in the Spector workshop near Woodstock NY and will be limited to an edition of 24 pcs. The body wings on these neck thru body basses are carved from rare water cured redwood burl. This wood is derived from the stumps of redwood trees that were cut down 100 years ago in northern California. These stumps were completely submerged in rivers for the last century and have recently been salvaged and obtained by Spector. The flow of the river water for such an extended period deposited minerals that have hardened the wood and deepened the color to a rich chocolate brown. In addition to this all the sugars have been washed out of the wood enabling drying to be done in the same fashion as the traditional preparation of violin woods. Each instrument will be accompanied by a special certificate signed by Stuart Spector which explains the special nature of the bass and lists it's place in the limited edition. The bass requires our clear high gloss finish (900.00 list), and will deliver 4-6 months from month of order.
