  2. [quote name='BigRedX' post='188686' date='Apr 30 2008, 10:37 AM']Nice photos! Not entirely sure about the colour, this may of of those instruments you have to see in the flesh... The change of title meant I spent several minutes wondering where this thread had gone. Can't afford it right now, if it's still for sale in a month's time I may make you an offer.[/quote] it really looks good in the flesh, i think the flash reflects to much on the deep gloss, and hey you can always order another body from rks...........they are interchangable!!
  3. I think this accounts for why there exists 'posthumous GAS' ie. the desire to repurchase the same gear after you've sold it, thinking that you don't use it enough. But... +1 to the idea that a Stingray and Jazz can cover most eventualities. (and a 5 on the side for special occasions) [/quote] how very true i have just ordered a status s2 and i was saying to my mate i wish d never gotten rid of it al those years ago. Its the one bass that ihave always wanted to own again, but neer realised that status were a big as ever today as they were back in the 90's. Its s good to hear all this, andi may take my two off the for sale boards soon!!
  4. [quote name='jake_tenfloors' post='188619' date='Apr 30 2008, 08:22 AM']Wow, that is one the ugliest basses i've ever seen. Whats it like to play?? Jake[/quote] Amazing and sounds amazing as well. I agree with the rest of the guys if you dont have anything positve to say then juge in silence hen someone is selling an item. Personally i think its beutiful, and is a mile away from the standard, and if youra little quirky and lovedifferent things, then you will love this! d be interested to see what you think when i get my headless stautus s2 five string with exotic wood body and curly maple fingerboard over graphite! thats beingfinsihed at status for me nex week. As i said out of the two i have for sale i would sooner keep this than the warwick. Out of interest does nobody want a warwick anymore???
  5. [quote name='Rich' post='188600' date='Apr 30 2008, 07:18 AM'] [size=1]coat->get[/size][/quote] exellent!
  6. This is the irst time in my 25 years of playing that i am going to have 4 good basses at one time, but thinking what am i gonna do with them when i know my new status is going to be he one! If you guys have a fav that you use all the time, what do you do with the others??
  7. I DO love it but not as much as the status. The cat is called the hog and is available for £1400 plus next day parcel force 24. HE is active, but is also good when played with passively. He has light gauge whiskers, but these can be replaced. He has a lovely grain and is very silk like to touch. He has an awsome growl, and also a cool purr when being played with. if i sell it (the bass) cool if i dont thats also cool!
  8. [quote name='BigRedX' post='187905' date='Apr 29 2008, 11:14 AM']Can't see any RKS in your gallery - are the photos not up yet? Rather than trying to use the BassChat photo attachment system you might be better off signing up for one of the free photo sharing websites - I use [url="http://photobucket.com"]Photobucket[/url]. You can then place image directly in your post using the IMG tag.[/quote] hi i will post some photos later today for all to see.
  9. [quote name='yorks5stringer' post='187788' date='Apr 29 2008, 08:32 AM']Happy to bump for tuesday, a great bass and price![/quote] Thank you, and now i know what a bump is!!! haha
  10. [quote name='silverfoxnik' post='186122' date='Apr 26 2008, 07:38 PM']That's not the point, with respect.. The original post - by a member of Basschat, asked fellow Basschat members - who we thought were overrated. Therefore, it's a question about our opinions here, not about the achievements of the bassists in question out there in the 'wider world'.. So IMHO, it's just a harmless way to pass the time and definitely not a way to start arguements.. [/quote] God rest his soul but to me John enthwistel. Jaco on the other hand is the best to me, and so is Mark king!! all personal tast.
  11. just posted it, but i cant add any more photos i can text it or personal email, but have to get camaera going (battery out getting some in the next hour) If you look on thormans site they have the same one exact for £1100 im looking for £600. All new and certified low number collectors but its worth having for the sound, and playability rather than to store. It s going cos i just spent (aaahhhh) £1500 on my dream status bass. and decided that i want some money back!!!
  12. RKS gloss red, american hand made through neck A bass. It comes certifeid low stock number, and in a hard case. It has through neck very loud passive bass lines mm pickup, hipshot tuners and i belive bridge? ebony fingerboard It is imaculate LOOKING FOR OFFERS, BUT KNOW WHAT I WANT! (on thormans the very same bass is £1100) The neck is slim, 5 string, and classy finish. IT has groove knobs (heavy chrome under the p/ups) and the sound balance and feel is quite amazing. This is a bass tp be played and loved. The fret work is quite amazing with them being very pronounced yet smooth set in the neck. I can email all pics to personal addy or text. ! my moby is 07957300029 Cheers.

  19. [quote name='niceguyhomer' post='185741' date='Apr 26 2008, 09:21 AM']Been pondering over this for a while now - I've recently been trawling around the shops looking for a new amp and I've been a bit shocked about the state of some stuff I've been offered in some well known stores. I was trying to find somewhere that had examples of a few I was interested so I could AB 'em. First store I went in - didn't have the stock they advertised on their ebay store (I know, I should have rang first) and so they offered me a battered and I mean battered LMII which was nestling amongst the Boss pedals out of its box. I told the guy I've had one of those before and after a full year's use and about 75 gigs, it was in better condition than the piece of sh*t he was trying to sell me so go and find the vaseline now. I went to another store and a similar situation arose but he had stock of the gear I wanted to try. I didn't buy the amp I really wanted because it was well used and I wasn't gonna pay full whack on what I consider to be used gear. He didn't have another in stock so - four hours to go before the gig and no amp, I bought exhibit B cos it was brand new and hadn't been out of the box. I mean -you wouldn't buy a new car that was scratched to f*ck would you or am I too anal?[/quote] I agree with this. I work at the bass merchant inb witham essex, everything there is brand new and all boxes available. We have a great range of amp/cabs/combos. If you are interested, call the shop for a chat and mention Richard put you in touch! Cheers .
  20. Befor you say Dean bah....take a look at the rewiwews on the net, will blow most basses out for sound and playability. I have just bought one of these through work, and they are the nuts. I may be able to get 2 more in black, £400 each (they retail at £699) and that will include next day. PAy pal is cool, and i can post pics of my one. If anyone is interested, email me and i will make the call to the rep to see if he still has them (the last two in this country i belive) Feel free to call me on it on 07957300029 Thanks Rich. PLease note that this is nothing to do with the shop that i work at, but is my own private deal, that i may be able to give two other bass players the great deal that i got!!
  21. we were doing a boozer in Ware called the John Gillpin. Was a great gig singer (sexy Gina) was fireing on all cylinders, and i had my new rks bass which was wonderful to play.................tonight may be another story! www.bsharpduo.co.uk
  22. Update............... well she got her first night out and the bass was wonderful, great sound, great feel great balance, so comfy. It is heavy, but the weight to balance made it feel like it was half the weight. The frets in the upper neck past the 14th freat were just under your fingers, and although passive it was as load as any active bass with more punch than most. Was gonna use warwick tonight, but that is staying in the case........hmm warwick corvett baubinga in the for sale section?? We will see!! Thorman i think have one A bass in stock for £1100.
