9. Greetings fellow bassists. We, PHOTON, have just released our 5 track EP. If you like your stoner rock with a bit of sludge and sci-fi you should definitely give this a listen. I play bass in this ensemble, and wrote and composed the lot, with a lot of help from my bandmates. Here's a band camp link where you can listen and download for free, if you like. 10. yeah, no worries. That's what I figured. Good luck with the sale. Someone buy this and put me out of my misery!
11. If there was any way of getting this to me for sensible money I'd have that cab off you in a heartbeat. I suppose postage is whimsical lunacy at 91lbs?

13. That bass really is lovely.
14. So I bought this. And I have to say, It is excellent. Yes, I know it's from the Rockbass stable; but I cant really figure out why. The bolt on neck is comfy and fast, the body is beautifully made and after a quick set up it plays and sounds fantastic. It's virtually new and I got it for less than half the retail price! Yes of course it's not going to sound like bubinga or wenge, but the ash and maple combined with the MEC gold active circuitry strung through the lovely two piece bridge really sustains and sings. The pickups dont really colour too much at all and a very recognisable 'Warwick sound' was there, if just a little bright. Having the P pickups rolled in a little more than the bridge makes for a great punchy sound with a good bit of heft to it. I took a risk buying this bass as it has a lot to live up to when compared to its German brethren. I've wanted a fortress since I was about 15 and always saw that modern warwick shape as something to aspire to. Ive missed out on proper pedigree Fortresses before due to bad timing or lack of funds. I was very cautious of it being a crappy Chinese knock off. My thumb bass has pretty much taken a back seat to this as I like a bass that can be a little brighter sounding. I watched that Andy Irvine guy strangle the model he has on youtube a thousand times thinking that the sound he has is doctored to sound like the better ones. Anyone that's been thinking about getting one of the newer rockbass lines wont be disappointed. A real plus for me was the fact that it doesn't wear that ridiculous looking Rockbass logo on the headstock, just a very familiar 'W' and a much more discreet title on the trussrod cover. Honestly; this thing is good. A very high quality plank that I think I'll hold onto. That is unless I see a MM kicking about!
15. Cheers! Battered Precision though Mesa Boogie bass 400+ and two 1x15 cabs. I think Id be pushing my bandmates over the edge if I used any more effects!
16. LOL, yeah that'd be pretty sweet alright!. I used a NYC big muff pi with original fairchild clipping diodes installed. Also used a EHX bassballs and a Morley Power Wah.
17. It's mostly there, can't wait to get it recorded properly! 18. Wheel boards are great things. All eminence speakers, was amazed at the punch, clarity and sheer output of volume from the Kappa 15" driver. Making the cabs a little bit deeper definitely helped to voice them along side the Theile porting. Still looking for speaker grill material, but can't find any anywhere for sensible money.
19. That was friggin' epic!
20. Greetings. Ive had a particular jazz bass since 2002. I acquired it from the singer of a punk band that I later joined with moderate success. When I bought this particular bass, It looked like this: That's not me in the photo by the way! Covered in so much muck, paint, stickers, sweat, piss, the lot. The badass bridge and Fender hard case was a bonus too. Naturally, once it was mine I stripped it and gave it the once over with some varnish I had to hand; and it spent the last 10 years or so looking like this: A rough and ready job, but acceptable; and kept the sweat out of the wood for dozens of gigs. Thing is, this bass plays better than any jazz I've ever held. It plays better than my '73. Seriously. The neck is fast and fluid, and it sounds amazing. Ive always had my doubts about it's origin, as there's not a serial number to be found. Anyway, I've taken a turn and had decided a while ago to refinish the body. It currently looks like this: Ive always wondered about this one...The fantastic neck and reverse tuners lead me to believe that it's old, but the battered string though body makes me believe that it's not. This frankenbass is a real joy to play, even if it is a mongrel. Im at a loss at the moment as to what to do now. Shall I just clear coat it again? Or maybe give it some colour? Thoughts?
