If I am honest, I don't really understand flats, if a sound is too bright you back the treble or tone off a little? If the sound is too dull and the tone or treble is up full then you put a nice new set of Elites on? Flat's seem to exist to give you that played in string feel? I understand the use of flats on a fretless to protect the fretboard but personally I don't like the feel of them on my fingers, they are so smooth it feels like I will get "rope burn" if I slide my finger too fast, which on a fretless seems to defeat the object of a fretless? Sorry, lots of question marks in the above but I really don't understand flats!

[/quote] Totally agree, I have ordered loads of paint from them I have never had a bad can and the results I have achieved have way exceeded my expectations, I find Nitro much more forgiving than the current Halfords car paints

http://www.halfords.com/motoring/car-cleaning/shampoo-polish-wax/autoglym-intensive-tar-remover-325ml I have always used this to remove glue residue on my poly finished guitars, I have never used it on a Nitrocellulose finish, if you were going to do that I would recommend trying it on a tiny unnoticeable area first

Dunc, I can highly recommend the Squier Mike Dirnt basses, you can pick them up for less than £200.00 in decent condition, they are nice and light, mine plays fantastic, I have replaced the electric with a Seymour Duncan and CTS pots and I have refinished twice so far, once in Shell Pink and now in a TV Yellow colour similar to the Telecaster colour. It was a cheap bass so I don't mind modding it and I actually gig it more than any of the other Precisions because it is light and great to play, if you are ever down my neck of the woods you are welcome to come and try mine and I guarantee you will be seriously impressed!

Fatboy stuff is fantastic, I have a pickguard and knobs on my Strat it looks absolutely gorgeous

Signed, but I have to agree with the previous comments, I doubt it will have much of an impact. I was offered the chance to buy tickets at face value for Ed Sheeran's up coming Nottingham gig, I let my colleagues have them I am washing my hair that night I have already seen comments as to how much they could sell them for........I somehow doubt our MD will be over impressed if he finds any have been sold for inflated prices though!

I run the LM3 and 2x10 traveller cab, I use it for 99% of gigs adding either the 4x10 or 1x15 for gigs where the bass is not through the PA, I couldn't be happier, fantastic kit, totally trouble free thus far and I always get comments on how good it sounds. If you ever over my way you are welcome to come and try it

Absolutely wonderful cab if you have roadies to move it for you, I think it is a bit expensive given it has issues, there was a better conditioned one on sale last year for, I think it was £225.00 and even that hung around for a while. I miss the sound I got from mine big time but never once have I missed lugging the thing about!

You do have to wonder whether Donald's executive orders will have an impact on Fender's Mexican operations?

I had a Gretsch with a snapped neck repaired about 5 years back, the guy who did it for me did say it was borderline as to whether it was repairable as it was a very clean break with "not much meat on either side to work with" he did a fantastic job with carbon fibre inserts, it has never moved a single millimetre since the repair. This break looks like it has far more "meat" to work with ( I think by that he meant surface area to be rejoined / repaired?) so it does look like a fairly straight forward repair however whether it is a bargain given the the above comments is a different matter, and remember if you did buy it and have it repaired it would always show and the resale value of the bass would be substantially lower than an un-repaired one

We played a gig in a notorious Corby pub called the Phoenix, it had apparently just been refurbished, which seemed to equal the pool table had been recovered to remove the bloodstains and the walls had been painted in am attempt to hold them together slightly better! We set up surrounded by the locals who made us feel most welcome with comments like "if you get in the way of the telly we'll kill you etc.!" We set up and sound checked with Stereophonics "Local Boy" when this very large, very drunk, very tattoo'd Scotsman staggered offer and yelled you had better play some F*%king Coldplay......then is a high pitched angel like voice sung the words "Fix You"...turned and staggered out of the pub never to return! We actually ended up having quite a good night and got out with all limbs and gear intact
