1. It's quite funny reading this thread this morning, we played a festival yesterday evening and I remember looking out at one point, I actually found it quite weird to be looking out on a bunch of human bodies with strange looking boxes as faces some would flash from time to time others just had a little red light emitting from them. Yeah it is flattering that a lot of people were taking pictures and videos a lot of which will be on You Tube and Friend Face but I still find it strange. I can fully understand Mr Frampton's annoyance I too would have condoned the storing of said morons phone up his (as was so eloquently described earlier) chocolate star fish
2. Both are fantastic players, personally I go for Pino for his early work with Gary Numan and Paul Young still keeps me picking up a fretless bass 30 something years after those bass lines first blew me away, can I play them properly yet......nope but I keep trying. Maybe Sharay's bass work will inspire today's aspiring bassists for the next 30 years and onwards
3. Isn't that incredibly cheap for a German Streamer bass?
4. I wonder if the Warwick bass amp is for sale
5. I agree with much of the above, once I am going I just know what is coming next so I rarely make mistakes during the song, what still drives me potty is looking at the next song on the set list and thinking yeah that starts in C well G...no definitely C or is it G at which point muscle memory takes over and my fingers start the song in D where it has always been...doh!
6. I think the Bass Collection Jive basses had a good reputation, I have a feeling they were budget bass of the year in the Guitar and Bass magazine the other year, I have not played the newer Bass Collections but have owned a good number of the older Japanese ones they were all cracking basses
7. Aaaah singers, can't live with em, can't get away with accidentally plugging them into the mains......or could you
8. Is it definitely Candy Apple Red? I thought the matching headstock basses were in Hot Rod Red, maybe worth confirming as I brought one the other year that was advertised as Candy Apple Red but turned out to be Hot Rod Red when I turned up to collect it
9. Hi Dunc, Just to add I brought the bass from Wunjo Guitars in 2007 / 8 (from memory), it was sold to me as a 79 Precision and all parts are as they were when I brought the bass. I got the train down to London especially to pick it up! It's a great sounding bass and nice and easy to play, GLWTS
10.
'One Way or Another' is another one...
What....am I playing it wrong or something....I really enjoy playing that one, sure it not overly complex but compared to something like Your All I have by Snow Patrol it's a proper bass line
11. I always liked Patrica Morrison (Gun Club and Sisters of Mercy) solid bassist
12. hubba hubba come on Euro millions numbers don't let me down!
13. I am vaguely related to Jo Whiley (My dad married her auntie) I am friends with Alvin Stardust's guitarist Glyn Davies and I am friends with Gary Numan's bassist Tim Muddiman
14. I really regret selling my Bass Collection SB801 because according to the world it never existed but I still have the photos Stinker...every Musicman Stingray I ever owned purely because I so want to love them but just can't
15.
That's made me laugh!!! I've never viewed hubby's t shirts as a source of his sexiness.... In fact that may be something that would drop him from an 8 out of 10 to a 7.5
That would make him a good 9 in my eyes.....tell him he's pulled
16. Quick delete this thread...if a guitard sees this we are history
17. Inflammable Material, SLF London Calling,The Clash Rocket To Russia, The Ramones Script of the Bridge, The Chameleons Love, The Cult No Parlez, Paul Young Replicas, Gary Numan to name but a few...wow in this age of the MP3 sometimes you forget the craft that goes into making a great album
18.
I don't understand this whole tour tshirt thing. You men seem obsessed with it. Hubby is the same, he has a whole suitcase full of the things!! Some he's worn until they are falling apart, others he's never worn and he's keeping them like museum exhibits. What gives boys? The only time I've ever bought a tour tshirt is last year as I really liked a design on the Wall tshirt when I saw Roger Waters. That's it!
It's a bloke thing Debs, you just have to have them....don't know why...and you always have to keep them, I still have my 1986 Ramones Animal Boy Tour T Shirt it is in two pieces now but it isn't getting thrown away anytime soon. I have every Stiff Little Fingers Tour T Shirt since they last reformed and my last purchase was a 35th Anniversary Chameleons Script of the Bridge tour T Shirt...happy days indeed
19. I have had a good few dealings with DPD recently I have to say I have been impressed with their service and their excellent communication, I have not had anything go wrong so far so I don't know how they would be with a claim
20. Back on the topic of minibuses, you have Rent Direct in Peterborough and Cambridge who may offer minibuses, you also have Long Marsh in Kettering / Corby who definitely rent minibuses, bear in mind that following the crash for cash scams that have been rattling around for the last few years a lot of daily rental companies don't run minibuses and those that do will usually be "customers own insurance only" all of the Long Marsh ones will be fully tracked and may well have both front and rear facing cameras fitted by now (1 crash for cash claim on a minibus can make the rental company un-insurable the following year!) Both Rent Direct and Long Marsh are members of the company I work for I would happily recommend either
21. Next Sunday I am playing an acoustic set at a festival with one band onstage at 6pm finish at 7pm then I am playing a 2x45 sets with the covers band 20 miles away, fortunately??? they don't want us on before 10pm......what could possibly go wrong
22. He still wasn't playing it right even then........the bass was not hung round his ankles correctly
23. I sold a bunch of stuff on Ebay recently, I put reserves on stuff I didn't want to go too cheap and no reserve on the other stuff, most of it made less than I wanted but that's an auction I didn't start cancelling the sales because it didn't reach the price I hoped. Poor show from this seller, deserves negative feedback
24. Sorry guys I didn't get on here yesterday, it was a not a 8x10 cab it was a lot smaller possibly a 2x12 (size wise) I took my Warwick $$ out for the day and was a happy chappie
