Would you ship this?
Could do. Haven't got a clue what it'd cost though. If you're interested just let me know the preferred method you'd like it sent by. Or you could find a quote yourself, PM'd with post code for this.

As the title says really. pictures unavailable until the weekend but I'm sure we all know what these things look like. Think it's the slightly older 'made in England' one. In perfect working order in carpet like surround/case thing with handle. Looking for £100. Can be collected in Liverpool or East London area, may ship at buyers expense.

This is the most fun band I've ever been in. So much so that since moving to London in January I've still been going back up to Liverpool every weekend to play! We've got a gig coming up on Friday 30th April at the Mad Ferret in Preston since you're interested. Don't know if that's anywhere near you at all...

I'm Dan, I play bass in alpha male tea party, a modern, alternative, progish, metalish, indieish, rock three piece. Currently searching for vocals but beginning to book gigs anyway. Our influences are wideranging and it's pretty pointless to list them, just have a listen. The demos on myspace went up this week and are the rough live mixes as captured in the studio on the day so still need work on them but we got impatient. Nevertheless they're a pretty accurate representation of the sound we're putting out.

We're a modern, alternative rock, slightly prog, with the odd toe dipped into metal kinda three piece still searching for a vocalist so the tracks are instrumental. Though I think due to the slightly progressive nature of the songs they sound fine without vocals. We were in the studio the other week to record a few tracks live. These are the rough mixes from the day (basically the songs as they were captured and boshed onto a disc, so arguably unmixed). After returning to sit in while the songs were mixed we came away with something not sounding like we wanted. So we got impatient and put the original recordings up there for people to hear while we decide what we're going to do with the tracks. Have a listen and let us know what you think. There are some things that obviously need addressing when mixing and we're aware of some of them but any opinions are welcome. You can click on the myspace link in my sig. If anyone wants the WAVs just ask or if you like what you hear and fancy having a bash at mixing get in touch

In my band I play all our songs in drop D, bar one for which I drop the D right down to a B! My main bass is a Warwick Thumb 4 BO and it plays just fine in my opinion and I have nice low action normally too.
I'm not making a statement as far as I'm aware
Remove your gear list from your sig then. Yes, I care about image sometimes and I have nice gear too, but I'm not a poser.

What other options are there out there other than the massive, ugly terminator's c@ck effort of an expression pedal and the rather expensive looking foot switches that Boss have to offer? Will anything that's labelled an expression pedal going to work? Which ones are the most usable, give the best sound etc? Small on price and pedal board footprint would be a bonus.
-
Best option is do to it yourself. Bear in mind that when you're ordering a custom board it's actually the time and labour you're paying for as it's got to be built to your specifications, not just whizzed off the end of a mass production line.

It's the natural oil/wax finish neck. I was quoted 70-100 by Ged Green, which seemed more reasonable. Plus, he seemed alot more interested and engaging when I spoke to him. I think the guy at KGB either took me for a mug or couldn't be bothered with the job, so the quote was, in my opinion, unreasonable. I understand it could be a time consuming job but come on, 150 green queens for a bit of sanding. I picked the bass up today and within an hour or so of getting it home I'd done the job myself. End of.

Had an estimate from a local luthier to shave a bit of wood off the neck of my '03 Warwick Thumb BO to bring it closer to the feel of my 95' (Fortress) neck. Taking it from it's chunky 'D' shape to a more player friendly 'C'. It's a rather fat neck and I'm confident stability won't suffer adversely form this mod. Quoted me 150 quid though. Is that a fair price considering that in his own words, when I first took it in, it won't take much to get it how I want it? Does anyone have anythoughts or experience on DIYing it? I assume it's just about patience and time.

Anyone seen that guy in Amsterdam who does the football keep-ups on Leidseplein? He's great to watch and does some amazing tricks but he isn't the best player in the world. In the context of a team he's probably sh*t... I'd pick a player over a showman for my team/band any day.
-
It looks to me like you're transferring your aggression towards those who refuse to move to your opinion onto the things they choose. Flea never insisted to you that he was this virtuoso musician, he's just a bloke in a band. Clearly some growing up needs to be done here.
I believe all of the earliest MIM production Jazz Basses had that style scratchplate. They also poplar bodies rather than the current alder spec. If I didn't have 2 already, I'd have taken your arm off!

The one piece guard was fitted to the Mex standard Jazz for a few years in the 80s/90s (from memory). They came with white stratocaster style knobs - so presumeably the black one is a replacement. Nice price!
Thanks guys. All PMs now replied to, I think, sorry for any delay. Had so many to get through and that stupid spam control tests my patience.
Two Wahs for Commerford-esque sounds?
Correct, board to be stuck accross them both soon. Each one is in a different loop with a different sweep set for each and different drive with them, then mixed. It sounds like an ogre belching.
