1.
Agreed, mine sold for £1250 in September last year and the specs weren't as good as this one. The silver and blue sparkles used to be really popular as well (there's a blue sparkle being offered at a rather optimistic price on ebay at present). I genuinely think it's the result of Flea's move away from Modulus, kinda sends a subliminal message saying 'there's something better come along' (the something better clearly isn't his new range but let's face it, he rarely played the Modulus in the studio and I'm pretty sure the same will go for the new line). Just another expensive artist model no longer played by the artist in question I guess
some of the drop will be, i know that i got my flea on the back of seeing flea play one. but also he did use them in the studio along with his vintage jazz bass. i hope he doesnt use his new flea bass in the studio or on tour! as i am inclined to agree that it sounds like ass! after playing one at a music show thru a good gk set up. andy
2. i think this is what ill go for! so the ampeg is for still for sale people if there are no takers ill just have to part ex it would prefer to sell it tho andy
3. ok another little bump and some info. after looking on the net and seeing what you can get them for new, im gonna drop the price to 650quid. the rack unit is not for sale really. andy
4. hi guys were gonna be putting up some new tunes in the next few months just wandering what you guys think of our current crop of songs. there all working demos so not done to the highest quality so some things dont sound as good as they should but they aren't to bad. so please let me know what you think. www.myspace.com/syruss andy
5. hi ive posted a new thread in the recording section http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=72377
6.
Just sayin' I think £150 is a great price. You would easily top that on ebay I should think. It's because it's old that it has added value. The wonders of vintage pedals .
indeed i think i could but i really just want back what i paid which is 150. its a nice pedal as as you say it is a vintage pedal. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MORLEY-Power-fuzz-wa...=item4a9d838dc1 an ebay auction with a buy it now price of £185 and its in the states! so you would have to pay tax on it. andy
7.
I reckon a GK 1001 would be enough...definitely. If you want to stay small, and would like a more tubey amp with lots of options, I seriously would test the TC Elec RH450. Once I heard one I had to have one....its a really really nice amp. Don't let the 450 rating put you off...
im going to go to the shop this time with a much broader mind, i now know that the outputs aren't always true! im gonna really test drive the 1001rb properly! as the 2001 is basically 2 put together. ive been offered a higher price than on the net around £1299 for the 2001 and about £749 for the 1001 just encase i like it and think its enough, but tbh i like the idea of having two channels and the silly headroom! also looked into trying to find a second hand mesa boogie bb750, but there like unicorn poo! and all the mesa amps are to pricey new! im aware for the 1299 id get the 2001 for i could also grab a ad200 orange or a svt cl, but not sure i can deal with the silly weight of the all tube amps again! but i may have to try them out! anyone care to put anymore suggestions forward? andy
8. looking to sell mt pro 6 to make space for a new head, ive never really got on with it and its time someone who wants it has it to enjoy! it sounds lovely! all works fine, ive recently had a problem with the di on it but this will be sorted before sale. it is under guarantee for another 13 months as i bought it new. its in like new condition as its been kept in a rack case from the day i got it. its been gigged about 6 times, comes with the manual and warranty card i'd be looking for around £750 andy
9. ok so ive been looking into the 2001rb today and it looks like a really solid bit of gear! has the power i'd be looking for, is around the same weight as the pro 6, has some cool features on it, and could also be used at small gigs with a small cab only using one of its power amps. im just wandering if there are any views on it? and also does it draw a silly amount of current like my pro 6 does? andy
10.
Do you really need 1100 watts?! I think you're into power/pre territory when you get to those numbers. On the other hand, what kind of a job did your LM2 do? Maybe that’s all you really need?
it did the job ok, was loud enough with the pa support, thing is i reckon the pro-6's output is more about 800w at 4 ohms imo. i just kinda like the idea of having some extra watts in there. plus i kinda want to get a nice bit of growl out of the amp naturally had to use a pedal with the lm2 i like the 2001rb's dual channels to can set up to tone which is cool. but as i said any suggestions just put em out there, my mind is alot broader now than when i got the ampeg. my band plays loud heavy rock/metal and some more funky/ bluesy rock numbers. andy
11. i currently have a ampeg pro 6 of which i love the sound but have never really been comfortable with! the di failed on it at the weekend, luckily i had my lm2 with me as a back up but this is the second time something has gone wrong with it! ive had it a year nearly and ive never felt really comfortable with it when gigging! which sucks as i really dnt wanna be going thru changing gear again! but i want something i can plug in and go! so here we go, im looking at getting something that's around the same wattage as the peg at 4 ohms, possibly with to channels not to concerned bout weight but no heavier than the pro. which rules out all valves, but this doesn't concern me. im looking at the gk 2001rb which Ive seen for 859, the harke kilo again around 865 ive only tried the lh1000 and it wasnt to bad was thru a random cab. those are the ideas Ive had i welcome some suggestions or ideas? andy
12. did a gig at are local pub last nite and the di for my pro 6 decided not to work! the desk couldnt get a signal unless they turned up the desk gain up to 10 on the di! had to use my lm2 in the end which worked fine, but anyone have an idea what could have happened? idiot checked it! and saw nothing wrong, the cable was fine, and the connection was good in to the di socket. any ideas? andy
13. heres some pics of my epi bird! i think the finish is awesome! andy
14. heres some pics just by the power switch you can see the to bolts that hold the 230v transformer, and see where the 115v sticker has been removed. andy
15. Opps sorry guys! Well I've seen really good shape almost new ones go for 650 usd, I'm thinking that's about 450 quid? I'm looking for around 150 pounds which I think is fair? I can get fotos up sometime at the weekend if people are interrested Andy
16. i can't say anything bout the svt pro 3, but the 610 i have is a awesome cab! but what i will say is that the cabs do give an ampeg sound, at one of gigs a dude played his genz 1200 thru it and it still sounded a bit ampeg. you can dial out the muddy sound, i had a few problems dialling in a sound at first but got there in the end and its wicked! really loud! as i believe as been said above, im inclined to believe ampeg lie a bit about there ratings! my pro 6 is meant to be 1100w at 4 ohms but but i have plugged in the trace v4 we have at are practice space and that seems much louder, same sort of thing with my lm2, it doesn't seem that far behind and its only rated at 500w at 4 ohms. andy
17. ok if the trade or price is right ill consider letting it go. so put forward your offers andy
18. my pro 6 has a massive amp draw! like at one venue it needed its own socket or it tripped the supply! im normally fine as there a single socket that i can use and its just for me (on the same circuit but no one else plugging into it) so sadly there noway i can have one of these! andy
19.
reviews say not. look into an english muff'n or a sansamp or something along those lines
but ive tried the momark tube pre and it sounded nice, all i really want is a bit of edge, im thinking it be enough. andy
