Just done a deal on a Sandberg heavy relic ...I wasn't a fan but I love the sound so I don't care...

Hi mate ..cheers . Done as he suggested and defietly improved the active ..though the blend is now scratchy grounding the treble and bass chsnged nothing ,I'm wondering if its interference from a poorly wired house I also have solar panels 10 yards away and power lines ,I've heard these can interfere though I'm not sure if it has any relevance or just rubbish ...

Thought I'd got a bargain of fleabay ...a epiphone thunderbird pro v...looks great only wish I'd look into it more ...first gig I've noticed a lie volume on the "b" string though the "g"..seems fine ,I'd heard a lot of the earlier ones were fitted with 4 string pups by mistake .. The bigger problem is the electrics..earthing problems and there's wiring not connected in the back ie 2 red wires that have been shielded in manufacture that are from the pickups ..I assume these should be connected to the battery red .. My question is any other thunderbird owners had this problem and do you have a wiring spec or picture of how this should be wired ...

My local pmt told me they or any other branch can get ernie ball on sale or return from there distributors ..might be worth a call..though I was led to believe it's the body shape that differs and the necks the same ,I have a usa sub base and had a usa sterling both 5 strings though I couldn't see any diffrence ..

Just invested in a epiphone pro 5 ....love the sound and feel ...how do you deal with neck dive ..I've noticed my front strap fitting is on the top horn ?though I see a lot come on the back centre of neck ..does this cure the problem ,would be good to know as I donr want to drill a new fixing on the back if if doesn't mske any diffrence ...

This turned up today £275.00:)..must admit I was a little worried not ever trying a thunderbird but I'm glad to say it's a pleasant surprise ..excellent build quality ,mahogany wings ,through neck (walnut and maple I think )active sound ..low action ...not to heavy ..I'm told it's everything a Gibson thunderbird Is not ..

Certainly was ...I'm pleased I went for the epi option ....its a bit of a gamble ..always loved the shape it's an icon and the active pups Swung it .....looks like the fernandes has to go up for sale again as its getting bumped further and further down the pecking order ... Thanks guys for all your inputs ..much appriciated ...

Seems that's the one ..I've tracked a 2nd hand down ..not many 5's about though ...

Really have gas for a thunderbird style of bass .sadley I don't have the funds for a Gibson at the moment and needs to be 5 string ....rumour is there a "one trick pony".....anyone got any thoughts on the epiphone or tokai option ? The schecter Nikki sixx signature looks cool but I'm not a fan of signature bass's and don't Think it comes as a 5...
