UK-based Luthiers

Thank you so much for the list! That's going to keep me busy for a while! Cheers, Byron.
2. Hi all, Just wanted to ask if there is a topic around here or a "yellow pages" of luthiers where I could find the majority of the ones based in the UK. I am strongly thinking of having a custom based made in 2016 as I am a fed up of "off the shelf" stuff and I also fancy spoiling myself a little I am aware of a few like our own Alan @ AC Guitars which is currently one of my top selections, but would like to hear from your own experience. Cheers, Byron.
3. I followed John Davis for a while as I was into Nerve and JoJo Mayer's drum chops. As mentioned above, John and similar players' aproach is the modular synth path and create their "modules" by using pedals. There is other great fuzzes around, I use a Brown Dog as it has various flavours and a nasty gate too, but in the past I used the CoPilot Fx Orbit with great success. Rather than going for his sound, use what you have available but using the same aproach. There are some videos on Youtube where his older setups can be seen, I believe that he used a Line6 M9 for some of the filtering stuff (great digital unit btw), and to control all his midi gear he used a Moog MP 201 controller that is no longer in production. I would also add some modulation, tremolo and delay to my setups when playing electro/synth with my former band.
4. Great amp the T90, always wanted one.
Spitfire - overseas and expensive, but doesn't get much better!
Thanks Dannybuoy! Had them on my radar already, they are certainly top notch. I just though we would have our own "National" counterpart over here...
6. Hi all, What manufactures would you recommend for aged guards for both P and J basses? Any UK based ones around? Cheers!
7. If you part out, I would be interested in the fully loaded body (no neck).
8. Lovely! Shame it's not a 4-string. GLWTS!
9. +1 Gigrig
10.
so I got it back today and it totally unplayable . the action is way too high and its buzzing on all strings now . he said the neck angle was off . I am p*****d off . I have a HB deko precision bass which plays better than this bass. i sold my tokai hardpuncher to fund this lakland , its my biggest mistake ever .
Really sorry to hear this mate... Hope it can get sorted soon.
11.
Your not allowed to sell those on here mate
+1 http://basschat.co.uk/topic/209819-this-is-a-rickenbacker-free-marketplace/page__pid__2107353#entry2107353
12.
I remember Commadore being in the 'Bells Musical Instruments' catalogue many moons ago! Jeez... £42.35 (what an odd price!) ... Another bit of old skool Epi porn..... Newport? With the bat wing headstock These do look cool though.... I believe Epiphone did re-release a similar shape guitar version relatively recently but not the bass....
That sunburst Newport looks really nice. Slam some flats on it and I'm sure you have a great sound.

Reverend Dub King
Haven't played a dub king but tried the thunder gun, decision and justice whilst in Glasgow and they were excellent instruments. Lightweight, strung through with different but ultimately lovely feeling necks. Seem to be extremely rare in the UK so doubt many will have tried.
Very rare indeed... good to know that you liked the other models. How would you describe the necks then? Are they different in general or was it from model to model?

Reverend Dub King
There's a Reverend dealer in Thame (Bucks), but doesn't look like they have any Dub Kings in stock: http://www.vintagean...neckbasses.html Si
Yup, saw that V&M have them in stock. Apparently they are the only UK dealer for what I can see.
15. Hi y'all, Anybody played/owns a Reverend Dub King? Very curious about them but very little can be found on the net. Cheers!
16.
What you got?
It was just a general question, but unfortunately I have nothing to trade atm. Lovely bass btw, the Purple Burst is an eye catcher. GLWTSM!
17. Open to any trades or just sale? Cheers
18. Gone in 60 seconds kinda post... wow!
19. I'd be all over this if I hadn't bought a Blackstar HT1-R only a few weeks ago... Lovely amp this Fender!
20. Welcome to BC from another SE Londoner!
