1. Knew it... Going to see Big Sir tonight btw!
2. Hi all, I have a Squier fretless P-Bass that I am thinking of modifying. The bass itself is really good for the money. Mine is extremely lightweight and very resonant and loud (unplugged) and with a lot of volume on tap when plugged in (compared to my Fender Roadworn Jazz Bass). I was thinking of changing 3 major things on the bass: - Bridge - Electronics - Pickup For the bridge I have thought about the "classic" Badass II and the Babicz. For electronics, the East P-Retro is #1 on my list at the moment. And for pickups, I have not thought nothing yet. The factory one is not anything special, no character to it but gets the job done. All suggestions are welcome, specially if you have experience with the gear and some positive/negative feedback to give. Cheers, Byron.
3. Lovely bass Dougal! Does it have the asymetrical neck? (I think ACG calls them that way). GLWTS!
4. Nice! Maybe Juan Alderete would like another one... ??? GLWTS mate!
5.
Used this over the weekend for a festival show: Fromel modded Boss CE-2B -> Blakemore Deus Ex Machina -> DOD FX-10 Bi-Fet Pre -> Boss OC-2 -> Boss TU-2 Si
Hi Si, How does that DOD Bi-Fet sound like? I have seen that Juan Alderete loves his lately and takes it on tour with Deltron3030 and Big Sir. Cheers.
6. Whaaaaaat????! That is awesome!!!
7. +1 on turning the bottom plate over. The other side is flat. But still, I have had a TU-3 mounted on my board for ages and it has been through loads of gigs without any issues at all. Get some good velcro and you will not have any problems. Cheers.
8. Maybe some dirt? Have you tried the Copilot FX Orbit? It's a fuzz with some crazy sh#t going on, really special thing. Pair it with the OC-2 and it gets even better. One of those WTF that you mention... Looking at your board and the fact that you have a Line 6 M series pedal (great pieces of gear, I have the M5 on my board) that takes care of most of the stuff... I'd go down the dirt side... Maybe the SolidGold FX Beta OD as you are doing some dubby stuff... Good luck mate! edit: There's me on the train not reading the OP completely... No OD's! Lol.
9.
Gigrig fits for sure, here's a shot of the underneath of my friends board
+1 They do fit under the nano's

New TC mini pedals
Problem with the feature is you can't correct the tempo while playing. So say you set it to your drummer, then start playing. Inevitably it will go off-sync. With normal tap tempo you can keep correcting it as you play, with this feature you can't because it mutes you (unless you have some pauses in your playing along the way).
True, but maybe that means you need to get a new drummer too... LOL just kidding.

New TC mini pedals

Totally with you JapanAxe, if you need various delays it is not ideal. The X4 would be the best if you really need to go from preset to preset. The phone beam thingy works but sometimes, if there is some white noise in your signal (bad cabling) it will not re-program the pedal. Only happened twice in a friends rehearsal space (bad cabling) so imagine in a noisy venue... I use the mini's in conjunction with the PC Editor to create presets that you would probably not find in other pedals in the market.

New TC mini pedals
Very interested in the mini flashback. Anyone have experience of the audio-tap function? Works well? Si
I have tried the normal Flashback and I own the mini and it is a great feature to have and soooo easy. When you hold your foot down the pedal mutes itself while you do the tap/strum thingy... let go and ready to start. I tend to have more rhythm in my hands than my feet anyways... LOL
13. Check Ovnilabs review about the Soul Preacher: http://www.ovnilab.c...oulpreach.shtml Cheers

Octaver?
I have seven effects on my board and three of them are OC-2s.
Oh my...

New TC mini pedals

Ordered the Mini's! Got on the way the Mini Corona Chorus, Mini Flashback and (the not so new) Mini HOF reverb. I have downloaded the TonePrint editor too, looks like you can do anything you want on the pedal. I will keep you posted. Byron.
16. I have a MeatBox and that is the best way to use it... I do the same with the old EXH pedals that I have (the big chunky metal enclosures). I run it at 9V without any problem... was not aware of the 10V and I am not sure you will find anything that gives you 10V power. 9V, 12V, 15V, 18V (24V too) is what is commonly used. Cheers

Octaver?

There are many Octave pedals available in the market. Do you know what type of sound your are looking for? I have various of them just because of that reason... EBS Octabass has a really nice clean octave that tracks really well up on the higher notes, Boss OC-2 has a really nice presence and organic feel to it, Aguilar Octamizer is really subby and you can control the tone of the clean and octave too, and the list goes on. As Fionn mentions, you have polyphonic octavers like the EHX POG and Micro POG too. Just put a nice drive/fuzz after the octave pedal and you will sound killer! Just depends what sound you are after. Byron.
18. For clean uncoloured tone I would go for the MXR. Extremely controlable and the LED´s give you a great representation of how much compression is being applied. The Markbass is an amazing compressor too, great buy.
19. What about Faifield Circuitry´s "The Accountant"? I have not tried it, but it looks good. http://fairfieldcircuitry.com/products/the-accountant http://www.ovnilab.com/reviews/account.shtml

New TC mini pedals
Just watched video on youtube from andertons with tor, and they have the same inerds some have more features than there bigger brothers. Andy
Thanks Andy! Once I saw on TC´s web the videos I found ProGuitarShop´s video too. So many possibilities with these pedals... really considering the Mini Flashback and Mni Corona. GuitarGuitar has them in stock already... GAAAAS!

New TC mini pedals

They look great! I would have added a mini switch to choose from TC´s own preset or TonePrint option (2 in 1). But the TonePrint option means that the possibilities are endless (if they share the same internal organs as their big brothers).
22. Let us know which one you pick Linear!
23. Boss PN-2 and Zvex Sonar for hard choppy stuff. The Zvex is amazing and it ticks all the boxes for me.
24. Really enjoying Royal Blood, they remind me of one of my favourite bands ever: Death From Above 1979 which were also Bass and Drums only (sometimes sinth with synth parts). Interesting setup to get the sound, similar concept to what I use when I play with my drummer as it is dificult to fill the sound with just a bass. The Palmer Triage is a great tool for splitting your signal to several amps, highly recomended. I wish them good luck with their new record deal and I see that they have some cool shows coming up, I will try to see them live.
25. Nice one Shep! Always great to read your interviews.
