1.
Fusion do a double gig bag, it's pretty bombproof and you could pack it up more inside for the plane journey. Depends whether you think that is safe enough
Thanks Cuzzie. Yup, seen the Fusion bag but not sure if the basses would survive the hold or the ground staff at the airports... Still looking for a bomb-proof solution.
2.
The Creamery and Oil City both do their own takes, or will rewind the modern Fender efforts (which are basically a standard humbucker in a big shiny box) to something more closely approximating the original spec.
+1
3. Hi y'all, Just wanted some ideas/advice as I will be recording overseas February next year and ideally I would like to take at least 2 of my basses on a plane. Obviously I am looking for a secure system that ideally holds at least 2 instruments in one enclosure as logistic costs need to be kept as low as possible. I have already looked into custom flight cases and even the triple bass cases from Scott Dixon https://www.scottdix...riple-bass-case but they cost over half a grand!!! Thanks in advance for your suggestions! Cheers, Byo
4. Always have a chat with the sound engineer and see what is "cooking". If your amp is an important part of your tone and you have the capability of using its DI, why should you not be able to use it live? Engineers may be picky sometimes but being nice helps and lets face it, its just unplugging an XLR from a DI box and plugging it back to your amp, quick line/level check and good to go. My setup is similar to ahpook's as I use my board to feed the FOH a good quality sound and use the backline amp as a stage monitor. This as proven to be the best option both in quality of FOH sound and hassle-free for the engineer (and me!).
5.
Now then, if I were running a music shop, I'd ask a few astute questions:

What sort of music are you playing?
What's your budget?
Anything you don't like? (pointy, sunbursts, Fenders, etc.)
Active/passive?
Desired pickup configurations
And so on. Your request is a little too open... 6. Just bought a set of La Bella flats that Dave was selling. The strings were brand new and arrived quickly and perfectly packed. The communication was great and clear. A pleasure doing business with you Dave!

GigRig Three2one

I think that the GigRig Three2One will do the job perfectly as every bass will have a boost/cut section to even out the general signal before it hits your pedals. Another solution is the Source Audio programable EQ as you can store presets (volume/gain) but you would have to switch cables with every bass swap.
8. Just browsed their website and they have some really nice straps, thanks for the link!
9. Lovely bass and great price! Shame that it's a bit too heavy for my taste. GLWTS, I doubt it will be on here for long!
10.
You're all bad, bad people - how do you expect people to deal with their GAS with threads like this??...you should be ashamed of yourselves... Now off to your rooms...there'll be no sweets for you for the rest of the week!!
Terrible... people like this should be banned from the forum! The P/J looks really nice!
11. I find some sticky and others not... my CIJ Mustang bass feels great live while my Allparts JB neck is sticky when my hands sweat a little. Still, I would take a satin finish over a glossy one any day of the week.
12. Mark at Limelight puts together amazing basses. I have a lovely P-Bass with a J neck on it and it is my go-to bass in my main band. Your best bet is to speak directly with Mark as he is a lovely chap.
13. Yup, Mark Hoppus sig. It looked like a Reggie Hamilton sig at the beginning until I saw the volume pot.

Just one pedal?

For me it would have to be a good versatile drive pedal. Just depends on what you are trying to achieve with pedals... I own a Zoom B3 and it is a great creative tool. It lives next to my practice amp in my studio as a quick plug&play "board".
15. I have a CIJ Fender Mustang in CAR with the competition stripe on the side and it is a lovely bass. I have it fitted with LaBella Flats and with one of KioGon's looms and it is a really nice bass and the build quality is spot on. A shame that Fender don't offer more SC basses. I also have one of the short lived P-Bass Junior's and it is an amazing bass (shorter than 30"). As mentioned in other posts, the Squire Vista Series Musicmaster is one to keep an eye out for.
16. If you are going to place it at the end of your signal chain as a limiter I would go with the MXR, as it is a clean comp with a great visual representation of the amount of signal being affected by the compressor. Darkglass' comp is also an amazing pedal too. Check out http://www.ovnilab.com as mentioned by radiophonic earlier, great place to get a quality review of virtually nearly comp out there.
17. Thanks for all the advice. Once I get back from holiday I will give the Mustang some TLC to see if it solves the issue. Cheers!
18.
I guess this depends on what you're wanting to achieve. Do you have a problem with the ones you have, or are you wanting a different look, or is it to reduce weight?
There is a slight buzz when tuned to pitch on one of the pegs and I am not a fan of the feel and, for some reason, lack of tension on the pegs. With a slight touch you can detune the strings.
19. Hi there, I have a CIJ Fender Mustang bass (Candy Apple Red with the competition stripe on the side) and wonder which would be some direct replacement machine heads for it. The back plates are slightly smaller than a normal Fender machine heads. Cheers!
20. Go for the TC if you have the cash for it. I have both the TC Polytune2 Mini and the Boss TU-3 and highly recommend both. Edit: Korg have some affordable tuners also
21. Squier VM P-Bass fretless (I think it's called like that). Great tone and a cool alternative to a J bass sound. Mine is super light too which is a bonus.
22.
Looks like a MusicMan BH-500 (made by MarkBass for MusicMan) if you ask me.
+1 deffo looks like the MusicMan
23. I have several bitsas, but the one that sees more live action is: - Fender Highway 1 P-bass body finished in nitro black - All Parts J-Bass maple neck with cream blocks. - Fender tuners. - Dimarzio pup. - Kiogon loom with series/paralel. - Badass II bridge Killer bass with piano-esque sustain. Bitsas are amazing when they come out right, I have tried combos that just didn't work for me.
24. Bump!
25. How does that Kalikot Audio Comp sound? Interested as I have never heard of them. GLWTS!
