Guys, thanks for the advice, helpful as ever, I need to investigate the allparts option further. Paul S, thanks but I'll pass on your advice at the moment owing to the current social distancing rules 👍

On inspecting the pots on my jazz bass I notice the pot code on all 3 is EP885. I believe this identifies the pot as being manufactured by CTS. Is anyone out there able to confirm this ? Would anyone also happen to know how I date these pots ? I'm assuming the last 4 digits on the pot denote the year and week of manufacture ? Any assistance would be much appreciated cheers

Thanks everyone for your help on this, I will check it all out. Drax, I've no problem with Martin at the Gallery, his work is first fate, it's just a real pain getting up there now and I was looking for someone who was more accessible.

Hi Bass chatters Im looking for a someone to take a look at the frets on my 61 jazz. Apart from the obvious ( Martin at the Gallery) can anyone recommend a good Luthier / bass tech in the London/Surrey area ? Its not a major job but as it's my pride and joy we are talking about here I need to be sure I've got someone that knows what they are doing. Any recommendations would be appreciated thanks
