1976 Fender Jazz for sale £1650 Final price drop NOW WITHDRAWN

I have owned and played this lovely bass for just over 20 years but time to move on. As you will see from the phtoos, it has the usual battle scars but it is a genuine instrument that plays very well and sounds just as you would expect a 70s jazz to sound. It has not been mucked about with in any way. I have toured with it for the last 15 years and it has had regular check ups and set ups. I hve not popped the neck to verify dates however I wouldbe happy to make this a condition of sale for a serious buyer once you played the bass and are happy with it. I can confirm the pots as being 1377625 = CTS/1976/Wk 25. There is a small nick just below the inlay on the 5th fret which I can't seem to capture on a photo but this does not affect the playability in any way. It weighs in at a smidge below 9lbs. If your are looking for a 70s Jazz I am confident you won't be disappointed with this one, its a good 'un. A great bass at a fair price methinks ! If you havn't tried one, check out a Hartke 210 xl, not expensive and it may suprise you. Good luck

Still using a Quatravalve and no way will i part with my V type either, am carrying a streamliner as back up but just no comparison to my ears.
-
Do you have the Fender 610 ?
-
Ah, it looks the business, don't suppose your thinking of selling ?
-
I am still using my old Trace heads, a lovely old Quatravalve and a V type and I for as long as my old back will hold out there is no way I am using anything else. Nothing comes close
-
I agree, they look the business, I would love to know if the performance matched to looks. So far its still looking like a bergie 610 but I am a bit concerned about my old back so I would love to find a lightweight alternative if poss !

Looking for some feedback from the good people of basschat regarding Fender Neo Cabs. Any experience good or bad would be appreciated, I am quite interested in 610 cab Thanks

John did a refurb job on my 61 jazz, you can see the results on his website. He is now working on my 64 P bass and i am talking to him about building me one from the ground up, cant recommend the guy highly enough

Original finish in sunburst with maple board and currently on sale at the gallery in Camden hence no pictures however, you can view the bass on their website www.thebassgallery.com I will retrieve the bass from them if anyone would like to try. I have owned this bass for nearly twenty years and it plays really well but has taken a backseat since i purchased a 61 jazz so its time for it to go.

Songs with amazing bass lines/riffs suggestions???
RJB280 replied to FlopalotapusBass's topic in General Discussion
Just have a listen to Jame Jamerson, there's a complete melody in every line and not a single 'slap' or 'pop' in sight. Hows about 'whats going on' ? Russ -
Sealed lightweight cabs, are there any out there ?
RJB280 replied to RJB280's topic in Amps and Cabs
Ah, very interesting, i took delivery of a 69er last october but took it back under Alex's very generous trial scheme as it just seemed to lack the tight punchy mids i have been used to but i have to say, the lower end and volume those things produce is very impressive. Likewise the Hi Drive which is certainly lighter in weight than the XL but also sadly just doesn't compare to the tight punchy mids of the XL. Ampeg eh, i will investigate further. Thanks for your feedback guys, its always helpful to get opinions from fellow players, the search continues !!! Happy new year to you all Russ -
I am new to lightweight cabs, currently using a bergie but missing the tight articulation i used to get with my old sealed but heavy Hartke so am looking for a sealed lightweight alternative. Any thoughts would be appreciated Thanks

SOLD Ashdown CTM100 - Xmas sale price £750

Alex does accept returns within 28 days and has agreed to take it back, all the guys at Barefaced have been so helpful and accomodating over this cab that i didn't really want to have to return it. It is one good piece of kit but sadly not quite the sound i was looking for. I was hoping that i might be able to sell it on at a discounted price the end result being that one lucky player gets a bargain, i don't have to hassle Alex and i would put it down to experience. I have now spoken to Alex and the cab is going back and i am therefore taking it off sale. I cannot speak highly enough of Barefaced, they make a damn good product and unlike some people in the industry they also have integrity. On a seperate issue, i would like to thank walbassist for his endorsement, the feelings mutual !
