  1. Thanks for all the helpful advice. Bass Gallery should really change their website
  2. Hi all, I am considering making an online purchase from the Bass Gallery, but their returns Ts&Cs are putting me off. They are saying no returns, even for online purchases. I am concerned that, as buying blind online, there is a slim chance that I might wish to return the bass. It is not a small purchase (>£1400). Are they going against UK law?
  3. Interesting, did you dispute through Ebay or Paypal?
  4. Thanks for the replies. I imagine I will have to post the bass back, at my expense. Coupled with the fact that I already paid a lot for postage initially. Does anyone know whether it would be better to go through Ebay or Paypal, seeing as I can't do both (I assume)?
  5. Hi all, I have purchased a bass that was not as described and want to return it. The seller is being unresponsive and unhelpful. There seems to be two avenues to dispute it, one being on Ebay and the other being Paypal. In the past, in the rare instances I had a problem, I raised a Paypal dispute and it was always straightforward. Has anyone raised an Ebay dispute? How do they compare? What is to stop someone raising both? Thanks for any insight
  6. Would something like this work? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/141494557168
  7. Hi all, I have this on my board, but its 5v mini usb so currently I have to power it separately, which is super annoying. Is there such thing as a 5v to 9v converter, so I can power it off my daisy chain? https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08393DLGV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_image?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Thanks!
  8. Thanks - do you think 19mm would be possible?
  9. What's the string spacing at the bridge?
  10. No love for the Legacy?
  11. So I haven't really found a viable option yet either here or in the link mention previously, for posting a £700 bass (in a soft case & cardboard box) within the UK, fully insured. Pretty crazy
  12. That only seems to cover £125
  13. I'm struggling with who to use. Royal Mail won't take it because it's too big, and Parcelforce won't insure it. Who else can I use? Thanks
  14. I have looked at the Sire but they've all been too heavy
  15. Thanks!
  16. Hi all, Does anyone have any insured courier recommendations for posting a bass within the UK? I purchased one off ebay and the seller has asked for close to £100. Thanks
  17. Thanks, I usually buy used but prices seem to have shot up, whereas places like Peach Guitars have very good new prices
  18. Haven't been able to find one used unfortunately. Think I'd prefer the humbuckers to single coils... I play heavy rock
  19. It was this one https://reverb.com/item/64478379-mtd-kingston-z-5-bass?utm_source=android-app&utm_medium=android-share&utm_campaign=listing&utm_content=64478379
  20. Thanks for the input. I'd actually love a Lakland 55-02, but every one I've seen has been over 9lbs A Fender Jazz is another nice option but they're typically over £1000
  21. Thanks for your input. I am actually leaning towards the MTD, but I used to play an Ibanez SR1205 with Nordstrand Big Singles, and when solo'ing one pickup, it was so noisy! Not sure how the Aguilars compare
  22. Hi all, Looking to buy my first 5-string. I've played them in the past but never owned one. My requirements are under 9lbs, 19mm string spacing and under £1000. I've sort of narrowed it down to three contenders, so just looking for any opinions... 1) Cort GB Modern 5 - new, £1000 2) MTD KZ5 (fitted with Aguilar Big Singles) - used, £700 3) Yamaha TRBX505 - new, £450 Really struggling to decide on one as they all seem to tick the boxes. The only one I have tried (and will be able to try) is the Yamaha, and it seemed... ok. Only tested it quietly in a shop so didn't get a great sense for the sound, but it seemed like nothing special, a bit bland. Was comfy to play though, even though it is 18mm rather than 19mm. I like the look of the MTD and have heard great things about the asymmetric necks, but it has the factory preamp which apparently is subpar, and also not a big fan of single coil pups due to the amount of noise. The Cort also has single coil pups (Nordys rather than Aggies) and the bass hasn't been out for very long. But all the reviews say it's fantastic (although slightly aware that all the reviews on Youtube seem to be sponsored by Cort). Just not a big fan of the two color schemes but it's not a dealbreaker. Any advice from current owners would be amazing 🥰
  23. Every Warwick I found was too heavy
  24. Ended up overpaying for a used MTD KZ5
