Oh mate no I completely agree with you on that a shit load of it's definitely DI'd and the bass tone is for sure. I just mean apart from the live mixing on the day there wouldn't have been a big post mixing process like with a recorded single/album ect. But yeah who knows, what's going on with in general with his tone though is more my focus and his personal choice of the moment as opposed to someone's after.

I do agree to a point but in this case there is a definitely a certain voice and character to this dudes tone that I hadn't come across before in this specific setting Being a live recording I guess that have some post prod but that it's a smaller slice of the 🥧

Yeah man this sums it up really well for me, I think there is a certain level that is only achievable from this headspace.

Yeah honestly mate, the way they are so chilled while absolutely burning. I dream of that level of mastery and mind state !

Yeah good shout man I might do that, yeah there was almost like this weird (possibly boxy) quality to it that's sounds nuts in the mix but solo'd I don't really like at all. I feel like it's got to be somewhere in the 400-800 but I've got no clue really. This was the best example of this I've seen and I'm on a bit of a mission recently to refine my live tone. Standing near the amp it's impossible to know what sounds good out there. If I was standing next to this amp I would not like it at all but as I said in the mix it's perfect. Trying to steal some of this knowledge on this magic midrange quality which seem to be a bit of a dark art ! 😂

Hey all ! Got a few questions about this performance, first of all it's absolutely nuts if you haven't checked it out. There a link below. The bassist I'm not sure of his name but his tone is willdddd something about that midrange cuts through incredibly. Can someone educate me is that a certain "sound" of a particular bass and or amp brand combination or is it just slamming the hell out of a particular mid Freq and if so how do I get it ? Also if anyone knows the bass he's playing I'd love to know Tried to get a few shots of the bass too but it's super hard to see as the headstock isn't visible! Happy holidays to all !

*now £345 ono Fender Geddy Lee Made in Japan body. 70s spacing, leo quan bad ass bridge. Had this set up with a fretless neck, but ive sold the neck and no loner play 4's so she needs a new home ! Comes with the original MIJ white pickguard as well as an aftermarket black one currently fitted. Will also include the neck plate too. Totally stock except it was modified to have a push/pull series parallell on the tone knob. Gives it an awesome extra sound, as well as jazz bass you can get a bit of a spicy aggressive musicman vibe. Small mark on the side, tried to get a decent photo but very minor ! Shipping £20 but will also meet you halfway if youd like to collect. Let me know if you have any questions !

Yeah mine is going back to Andertons. Several scratches on the neck, wonky cut pickguard and crack in the neck finish. If it was listed b stock i think i could accept it but yeah nah man too many little things adding up here just feels sketchy

Did you find this contributed to solid feel, in general I feel like the positions are super precise, maybe it's because I'm coming from my Lakland 55 02. But yeah essentially does the inner part the knobs attach too feel more "certain" with these too ?

Alright yeah ignore that I was being dumb it just needed a nice old push to get It into place, but damn they feel flimsy as hell...
