Cheers for the honest feedback guys..appreciate it... on the track Pray i used a 64 pbass with maple neck through a line 6 bass pod rack... on memory i used one of my Lakland 44-02 deluxe's again through the pod.. and finally on price i pay i used my white lakland Dj4 as its got the hipshot d-tuner peg on it..again through the pod... i dont like using amps in the studio..not for the bass...i dont think its needed...only my opinion tho!

i have USA Laklands and Skylines... and i have to say,i much prefer the skylines...for the money youre getting a world class bass.. plus if it gets stolen or damaged on tour you wont have a big dent in your wallet trying to replace it.. also, speak to Dan at Lakland..im sure they can source out a light-weight bass for you...they made me my white DJ4 light-weight as ive just had major surgery on my spine... sum them up in 3 words..."theyre the bollox" jj

i saw one of these in PMT in brum a few days ago.. its ok,but not worth anything near a grand...it just felt like a lump of heavy plastic...i was actually there with my father who told me to put it down as it was embarassing him hahaha i love signature models...but im not a fan of Maiden,so maybe thats why i dont like it

What bassists should have a Signature model?
* Jamerson Precision and Ronnie Lane Zemaitis. Not because I want one, but so their families (Zemaitis included) might make a few bob out of it. * Andy Fraser EB0 * Foxton Rick * Duck Dunn Precision * Entwistle Fenderbird
id love to see the Entwistle Fenderbird....Alembic made some sig basses called Spyders..and i own one of the Warwick Buzzards they made after his death... -

The most expensive pickguard in the world?
jimijimmi replied to mathewsanchez's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
maybe im stupid, but how would one know the date of a scratch plate? -
No unfortunately it's not. The shop would be bound by the 1979 Sale of Goods act. I doubt very much whether the buyer would get the same rights from you, if you catch my drift.
maybe not. but surely thats where Ebay steps in? or the guarnatee From the Manufacturer? or the fact that its less than half price? who knows....im just hoping it sells....ive got a wedding to pay for... jj
That's a bit subjective though mate isn't it. To most people a brand new instrument is one that hasn't been bought & taken home from the shop or where ever. Anyway good luck with it.
i see your point.. but this bass was sent to me by the manufacturer...and now im selling it... thats identical to what would happen to a store in order for it to be brand new....?
"its only ever been played at home..and lives in its case" Mate that's not quite what I'd class as a brand new instrument. As new? Yes. But brand new is a bit misleading don't you think? Might be some come back from Ebay regarding it, just wanted to mention. Anyway good luck with the sale, a cracking instrument.
well,id say its brand new...as i have... its been played less times than if youd bought it from a shop and lived in far better condition...no kids messing with it etc... just because there is a name above the door it doesnt mean the guitar is unplayed and brand new....?...specially with the school holidays.. whereas, ive probably played this guitar twice, for very brief periods..and its been kept protected in its case laying flat as oposed to being wall hung.... i guess it comes down to each others opinions of "new" and "used"... cheers anyways man! jj

Take a look at ACS... ive just got fitted with these...plugs and in ear monitors... im awaiting their arrival.... iv got an Audio Technica in ear system coming too.... the use of in ears is to protect your hearing as well as giving you your own mix...the T-2 that ACS offer reduce stage volume by -26db.then you can have your icolated mix direct into your ear,at minimal volume.. genuis. i cant wait for them...

You don't get his gigs and endorsements without it.
Cheers my man..these guys need to get on it. I'm not sayin anymore on the matter. You nuts obviously ain't gona bid so I don't see how your bedroom player remarks are valid. -
Mate, if you want to sell it get on there's a vintage Gibson Bass forum out there. As for being jealous, I saw this comment on another thread for a dodgey Precision, another forum member was accused of jealousy for making some factual comments about a decidedly dodgey guitar. I'm not saying your Thunderbird is dodgey but mate we're not 5 year old kids with attidude problems. One thing I think I can safely say is that not many people on here would resort to the comments out of shear jealousy. From what I can gather from the people who go on here *apart from your good self* is that that most are sane, level headed decent blokes who wouldn't resort to cheap comments out of "jealousy". They are making comments on the guitar you are selling. Lighten up and wise up. You'll get a lot more respect.
5year old kids eh? They wouldn't have given me this much bother . I don't need to lighten up or wise up pal.nor am I on a quest for respect ? But thankyou. I'll stick to what I know an you stick to what you know. And as for the insane etc comment..grow up. -
Hey leave the man alone. If he wants to price the bass at £7k then that's fine. Vintage things are totally different to everything else. You just can't compare one with another or with anything new. No need to get all nasty Good luck with the sale Jimmi .. I hope you included the US and Europe in your areas ..
Thanks mate... At last someone with some kindness instead of jelousy. O believe it to be available In the USA . Hope you're well Jj -
As the man says, you have a weird definition of "mint". Mint means "undamaged, as if freshly minted." There is no such thing as "mint for its age." S.P.
im not even gona bother anymore... JOhn changed as the neck was too slim for his big hands..period. the bass is mint for its age..period. you guys OBVIOUSLY dont deal with expencive Vintage guitars...hense the lack of knowledge.. Bye.. -
you have a weird definition of MINT... there's obvious finish checking on the headstock... and the tuners are all tarnished...
my god...you guys are wierd... show me a bass from 1968 thats not tarnished...its MINT for its age. jeeeeeze... unbelievable.you guys really make me laugh.scratches can occur..anyways,the finish on the whole guitar is like that..its from 1968..???????? take a look at any NEW guitar that Gibson or Fender create, like their NOS custom shops which have checking...hahahahahahahahahaha as they say here in the black country...cowin' ell! -
Wasn't saying the value was incorrect, more the "bass of this calliber" bit. Far better basses go for a fraction of this i'm afraid. And yes i am well, thanks!
no worries pal.. as i said in my last post...its a hell of a bass to play....if they were good enough for John, then theyre good enough for me.id use it over any other bass out there...if i could find a bass tech that didnt drink alcohol! glad youre well... enjoy the rest of ya week. -
Too true! I had it on a very long strap (looks ace!) but there was about 3 trees worth of wood in there so it was extremely uncomfortable. Don't think Gibson ever got a bass neck profile right either. The RD and every TBird i've played felt clumsy, like it didn't really want you to play it.
The RD Artist bass was originaly made for John Entwistle.it was to be his "signature" bass..hense the "artist" title and slight resemblance to the Tbird. never played one...altho,id love one, bein an Entwistle fan. -
It's a collector's item, not a player's bass. Its perceived value derives only from the fact that it is a rare design, and it was owned by the bassist from Oasis. It's only worth what people are willing to pay for it. S.P.
obviously youve never played the non reverse thunderbird? this is probably my best playing bass..taking into acount im a Lakland Endorsee,Fender UK Endorsee and Yamaha bass.. but yes,its only worth as much as someone will give me for it... and for me,Guigsy has probably tainted the sale some what..not exactly the greatest of players. -
hey all.. im selling my quilted maple top 44-02 deluxe with rosewood board... its a very reluctant sale... ive never gigged the bass..infact since i got it its never been out of the house... its sounds amazing..but we dont expect anything less from Lakand! ill post some pics tomorow... but its in A1 condition,as i said, its never been out of the house...and comes with a Lakland Hardcase... im looking for a fast sale ... £800 ono... its on ebay also... happy new year to you all...
pics added jj
