Sorted
Thanks for that. Amp is as new - I can't see any marks on it, and it all works exactly as it should. It's actually pretty loud, too! PM'd you about a possible trade. Cheers Mark.
  2. Sounds good to me... have you got a link to the strap and lead, just so I can check 'em out?
  3.
tredders, yours is definitely sweet. It has got me thinking, and I just bought an old ESP P bass to get back into 4 strings playing. And so may be tempted that way.
Cheers - its absolutely perfect for me . Just trying to rustle up the money for a Shuker Jazz now...
  4. This has now been traded. Well, I bought this last month from Truckstop, and then found my old Peavey practice amp (which I thought was long gone) in the loft last weekend. Duh. So, I'm going to sell the Marshall. It's this model: - http://www.marshalla...roductCode=MB30 It's a 1x10" speaker, 30 watts output, has a built in compressor, and a great grindy "classic" channel, with controllable overdrive type sounds. Oh, and it's also got a CD input and headphone socket. Here's a picture from Google. I can take a snap of my actual one, but it's the same as this... I'm looking for £40, plus a tenner towards postage. Would trade towards a TC Polytune pedal, a nice strap (Levys etc), or whatever else you might have lying around - try me! Cheers Mark.
  5. One solution to the wait time is to check with Jon to see what he's got on the go already. When I was after a Shuker Precision, he had half a dozen bodies in various colours already made. Luckily, there was a P bass body in the exact colour I wanted, so I just had to wait for a custom neck to be made for me (slim Jazz width, with binding and blocks on the rosewood board). From first emailing Jon to getting delivery of my bass was just under 6 weeks. Granted, it'd be different if you wanted a completely bespoke body / neck / electronics, but if you're after something more 'standard', it's worth asking.
  6. Having just bought an AV 62 Jazz, I needed a thumbrest (or tug bar) to finish off the look. Did a quick google, and came across this place, selling good looking ebony ones (amongst others): - http://www.classicguitarboxes.com/thumb_rests.php Placed an order at 08:11 on Saturday morning, and had a personal email from Guy (the chap who makes them) at 08:56, to tell me my order had been despatched. It arrived today (Monday), and is now fitted to the bass. Nice to get a good product, at a good price, with excellent service.
  7. Bought a Motown book from Pierre. I fully expect to sound exactly like Jamerson after reading it, otherwise I shall be asking for a refund! Nice easy transaction, and the book was posted out to me in superfast time. Deal with confidence Mark.
  8.
Send it to me and I'll sort it for you, just cover the postage
That's quality

    Mini Polytune

Just to jump on the back of this topic - if anyone is thinking of "upgrading" (or downgrading, depending on your point of view) from the Polytune to the mini, I'm on the lookout for a regular Polytune pedal, so let me know if you're selling.
  10. Just completed another transaction with Chris, and as ever, he was a pleasure to deal with. I bought his AV 62 Jazz, and bloomin' lovely it is, too. As usual, lots of friendly emails keeping me informed of what the status was, and another bonus is I now have about 17 miles of bubble wrap to keep me going for the next few decades. Seriously, I've never seen so much bubble wrap on one bass To say it was well wrapped would be an understatement! Great bass and a really good guy to deal with - thanks Chris. Mark.
  11. This is now sold. Bought this a while ago, but didn't really get around to using it, and as I've got an Orange Terror Bass incoming, I'm pretty sure I'll be OK for valve sounds going forwards Comes with the tin, instruction card, and is in very good condition. Obviously works perfectly - it's had very limited home use only. £90 posted. I can include an unopened power adapter for an extra £5. I'm also after a TC Polytune (full sized), so would take that plus some cash in trade. Cheers Mark.
  12. Sorry guys (especially Donovan) but this is now traded.
  13.
That would be brilliant! I'd love some close-ups of the bridge and hardware.
Done - I've PM-d you the link to the pics. Mark.
  14.
As if i'm not broke enough! that's what being on this forum does for ya!
That should be the signature for about 95% of us here!
  15.
This is exactly what i'm after but after buying my Jazz bass, I will have to sell my Tecamp head and cab first
I'll be in Nottingham for the first weekend of next month, so could bring it with me
  16. Hi mate Thanks for the offer, but it's not for me. If you're looking for something portable, the Puma combo would be right up your street. I was moving stuff around at home, and laughed when I realised that I was running up two flights of stairs whilst carrying a 2x12 combo in one hand... Mark.
  17. I just bought a Phil Jones Suitcase & 4B mini-stack from Ian. Couldn't have gone any smoother - prompt friendly replies to my emails, great price, and he even got up early on a Saturday to meet me half way, in order to cut down my travel time. Top man all round - deal with confidence. Cheers Mark.
  18. ^ Now that is very very very nice! Lovely job.
  19. This is now traded - thanks for all the interest. I'm picking up my Phil Jones Suitcase & 4B tomorrow, so my TecAmp combo will be up for grabs. Manufacturer's link is below: - http://www.tecamp.de/?id=145

Extremely lightweight
Neodym Speakers
Switching power supply
Poplar plywood
»Taste«-Filter
4-band EQ
pre/post »DI out«
NTM-1 Neodym-Cone-HF-Driver
external »Speaker Out«
It's stupidly light (only 21.5kg, so it's a comfortable one handed lift) and has wheels on the back, but I've no idea why, since it's so light! It also has a kick back function. Soundwise, it's very flexible. It'll do the ultra-clean hi-fi stuff, just as easily as fat, deep motown. I generally leave the eq flat, and use the "Taste" knob to dial in the sound I want. It's 320 watts as is, or 500 watts with an extension cab. This has been my backup combo for the last 2 years, so hasn't even left the house room, let alone been gigged or pushed in any way. It's absolutely immaculate - not a mark on it. Here's a sample pic from Google - I can replace this tomorrow with a pic of my actual combo (but it looks just like this one!). Current retail for this is £1499. I'm looking for £750 collected from near j.12 of the M40 (Gaydon) or my office in Solihull. I'll courier it at cost, but I don't have the original box, so I'd need to source one and pack it up. You're more than welcome to come and try it out, and have a coffee & a chat. Ideally, I'd like cash (to fund my Shuker Jazz), but trade wise, I'd be interested in 4 string basses, such as Thunderbird, Lakland Decade, Ric, a nice acoustic/semi acoustic bass, or most things Fender! Or try me with what you might have. Cheers Mark.
